Hands down my #1 spot in Nashville...I tell anyone who will listen. Small, modern feel. Most of the commercial space is dedicated to the butcher shop, but there are a few tables and a small bar inside. They are cranking out 5-10 incredible sandwiches with some killer sides. The burger is picking up a lot of hype, at least with people I talk to, as a possible choice for best in town. The beef fat fried potatoes are insane. The greens are fabulous. I could go on...always a nice, albeit small selection of beers on tap as well. I have picked up steaks a couple times and no lie, the best steaks I have ever cooked at home. When I saw the cheeseburger was 2 patties, I hesitated bc I generally don't like my burgers super-meaty. It turned out fine. It's not a huge burger for $10, but it was delicious! Great shop with awesome offerings ! The Brisket was big , juicy and hearty. Also picked up a couple of monstrous Beef Ribs that melted in your mouth. Staff recommended their homemade sausages and in-house beef jerky. All of the items were delicious ! The Butcher even shared insider advice on how to prepare and smoke the beef. The Tips were helpful , especially on how to finish the BBQ to ensure the right texture and taste. Staff was engaging and supportive. With the front garage bays open & the picnic tables on the patio, it's a great spot to enjoy a Saturday afternoon lunch in the nations! I had the Cuban; my friend had the burger. We shared a side of beef fat fried potatoes (think rough cut home fries/crispy outside/soft inside). My Cuban was excellent. Juicy pork, thick sliced pickles, crusty bread. Both sandwiches were generously sized and, had we been less gluttonous, could easily have been shared. Small, but well curated selection of beer on tap, along with baked goods/other food items from local vendors. We didn't purchase anything from the meat counter, but will be back for that in future. I've been searching for a great butcher in Nashville for a year now. Save the time and just go here. I was making (an enormous batch of) chorizo and so needed a particularly fatty cut of pork ground up, and the butcher picked out a great pork butt that required no additional fat. They had things I can rarely find at other butchers (guanciale--and it was fresh), and their lard was reasonably priced. $6/pound was too expensive for chicken bones, but they knew that. It's now my go to. Definitely call before if you need something specific. They were out of a handful of cuts. read more

Had heard rave reviews of this place and have been in the Nations for a few years, but never stopped in. A claim of "Nashville's best burger" can always attract, but a burger didn't sound right the first time. I went with the Cubano and fried potatoes. Both were a delicacy and the fat used for the potatoes gave a flavor to match their crispness. I always thought a great restaurant could be judged by its sides and Bare Bones certainly passed the test. They were operating on a limited menu so looking forward to the next visit and the burger + exploring it more. Didn't hurt to grab a sausage sampler and the first two have been top-notch and quite possibly the best hot dog I've ever had. Applause all around!!! read more

Check this place out NOW! I just ate one of the best pork chops I've ever eaten in my life. Cooked in a cast iron in bacon grease with salt, pepper, garlic & cayenne. It was SO GOOD. They have allllll the meats & cut them right in front of you, a small grocery selection, & even a little bar with beer on tap. They've got a few tables, burgers, chili, & some sides. My husband and I stopped by to try the cheeseburger, after seeing a review on Instagram, calling it "one of the best burgers of my life." I have to agree that their cheeseburger is one of the best in Nashville, its only rival being Husk's burger. The mustard and house-made pickles perfectly complemented the tasty beef. I tried my burger with the braised greens, while my husband had the tallow-fried potatoes. Both were amazing. The potatoes were, without a doubt, the best fried potato/french fry of my life!!! The greens were delicious, and yes, I tipped my cup to drink the "pot-licker." They have a small menu, apparently only offering items they do very well. They had several beers on tap, Mexican Coke and mineral water, along with farm-fresh humane meats and assorted grocery items. The decor and menu presentation are modern and well thought out. Quality, quality, quality. Normally, me and my partner are all about the food deals, but we decided to splurge on some good meats and you can taste, feel, smell, and see the difference. We stopped in and shared a roast beef sandwich, but that name makes it seem mundane. Let me tell you, this sandwich was magical. Greens, carrots, garlic mayo, flavor punch. We also shared the potatoes with duck fat and omggggg--i don't even like potatoes, but I'd change that policy for these. They keep their menu simple, but I honestly can't wait to try the other things. This was my first visit and I was like a kid in a candy shop. Patrick helped us and was wonderful. I asked many questions and he happily answered, you can tell they love what they do. Ribeyes are $28/lb, chuck eyes are $15/lb, sausages are $11/lb. We ended up trying the chuck eyes this time around because at half the price they looked delicious and well marbled, just like a ribeye. Fun fact, chuck eye is from just higher and more towards the shoulder than a ribeye, same area as the chuck roast - makes sense, but I had no idea there was such a thing as chuck eye! We also got boudin, Italian, and chorizo sausages and bacon. I wanted to try the lamb and meatballs, too. Alas, another time. I had a meatball, consisted of 2 small to medium meat balls. With all these high ratings I am wondering what I missed. This is one of those places that you don't really want to leave a great review because you want to be greedy and keep this gem just for yourself. This place is amazing! I love French dip's and Cuban sandwiches. I can honestly say these are the best I've ever had. It's a bit of a hike for us but worth every mile. This was our first time here. It is a cool unique place! They are primarily an upscale butcher shop with grass-fed beef and specialty house-made sausages and hot dogs, among other items. They also have an 8-stool bar area serving on-tap beers along with a few tables for in-house dining. There was a steady stream of butcher counter customers and the bar-stools were full as well. We were here to dine in for dinner. They had a few specials but we chose to share a cheeseburger and roast beef sandwich off the regular menu, along with the fried potatoes. All were wonderful! This place is amazing! My husband and I started buying all our meats and as much produce as possible from here just after dining here with a few co-workers several months back. As long as the weather permits, our go-to this summer has been to grill every night with something from BBB and has always been wonderful. We've had everything from their hot dogs, sausages (They're all good but if they have Roasted garlic and fennel...you'll be hooked!), pork, steaks, chicken, charcuterie and cheeses. Their selection of fresh produce and local items is great. They are always friendly, have great suggestions and have amazing food. Their dine in options and beer selection is ALWAYS a 10! The cheeseburger and cuban is the best I've had in Nashville or else where! Unfortunately, I can't write this review about the quality of their product. I will describe the unsatisfactory customer service I experienced. I arrived on 7/2/20 at noon. I waited until they opened at 11am and was looking forward to buying pork shoulder for carnitas tacos. I arrived and found a sign out front instructing to call ahead and that no patrons would be allowed in. I completely appreciated this sentiment given the pandemic and called the number on the sign. There were three employees inside who saw me at this time. I tried to call for 10 minutes and met a busy signal every time - again, totally fine, glad they are busy. When I finally rang through, nobody answered and the call went to a busy signal after 3 minutes of ringing. At this time, an employee opened the door and asked if we were there to pick up an order. I explained that we hadn't realized it was a call ahead process and had been trying to call. He responded, "I've been on the phone and when you're calling and I'm on the phone you aren't going to get through." Without saying anything else, the employee closed the door and locked it. It was one of the rudest customer service experiences I've ever had. read more
