First off, plenty of parking. Bonus. When you walk into the store, everything smells clean and fresh. The grocery section is well organized. The produce section is overflowing with fresh veggies that are well-priced. You can find most everything you are looking for at a grocery store. In the back of the store, they have a deli and a little taco shop. There are tables and chairs, so you can eat there or take your food to go. My husband got two Quesabirria Tacos and a side of rice and beans. I ordered three street-style tacos: Carnitas, Barbaco and Pescado, which was grilled. I also ordered a side of plantains. Throw in a bottle of water and the total bill was $31. There was so much food that I had to take the rice and beans, 2 tacos and my plantains home. I just could not eat any more! They have housemade salsa that they sell in pint containers. The Salsa Verde was so delicious that I have been putting it on all my food this past week. It's spicy but not overpowering. I'm going back just to get more of that salsa! Reading the comments from the Instragram post, people told the IG poster not to give away locals' secrets. This definitely is a hidden gem!

We've celebrated family dinners, hosted business meetings, and made countless memories around your tables. Even after moving out of state more than 10 years ago, every single time I come back to Tennessee, my dad and bonus mom know that one stop is non-negotiable--we're going to Chef's Market. The food is incredible, and the cakes are worth the trip all by themselves. A few weeks ago, though, Chef's Market became so much more than a favorite restaurant. I got a call that my bonus mom had become very sick, and I rushed home to help care for my family. One day I stopped in to grab lunch and, of course, one of your amazing cakes to take back to the house. I was holding it together...until I wasn't. When the sweet lady behind the bakery counter asked which cake I wanted, all of the fear, exhaustion, uncertainty, and heartbreak I'd been carrying came pouring out. I couldn't stop crying. Without hesitation, she set the cake down, walked around the counter, and wrapped me in the biggest, most genuine hug. Not the kind of hug you give because you feel obligated--but the kind that says, "You're not alone." Then she prayed with me. A complete stranger saw my pain, held me tight, and promised she would continue praying for my family. As I sit in the hospital weeks later, I still think about that moment. I remember her kindness, her compassion, her gentle spirit, and the love she showed someone she had never met before. That hug meant more than she'll probably ever know. Chef's Market isn't just a restaurant with incredible food and the best cakes around. It's a place that feels like home. It's where my family has made years of memories, and now it's also the place where I was reminded that kindness still exists in this world. Thank you for feeding people in more ways than one. Thank you for caring. Thank you for reminding me that a simple act of compassion can carry someone through one of the hardest days of their life. You truly never know what someone is walking through. It was busy for lunch but not in an overwhelming way! All staff we encountered were very nice (and helpful)! My husband ordered their meatloaf entree with mashed potatoes and I ordered the French dip sandwich with fries. BOTH were absolutely delicious! The sandwich was a bit smaller, which was perfect and not heavy!! We also split a banana pudding which also was quite yummy! There is a bit of merchandise for sale and a very enticing dessert case as you except t to pay your bill!!! I was greeted as soon as I got to the store (I believe her name was Sam), and not only was she very welcoming and personable, but she also had some snack style samples offered-and let's just say I'm pretty sure I just found my new favorite snack-Strawberry and blueberry pretzels! Then, as I was doing my shopping, I had another employee (I'm so sorry, I didn't catch their name!) ask me if I was finding everything ok, and I replied with what I was on the hunt for (a very specific vitamin) and they showed me right to them, and asked if I would like some help finding anything else! Honestly, I can't remember the last time that I went grocery shopping and had someone ask me if I needed help finding anything, so this interaction really stuck out to me. As I went to check out, I was greeted with a SMILE and a "how are you, did you find everything ok today?"....checkout was fast and friendly! I just felt like everyone working there went above and beyond to make my (usually dreaded) shopping trip enjoyable-from being helpful, to simply smiling at me as we walked past each other, and even the bonus snack samples. The places I normally shop at (closer to my place) seem to be filled with employees that have a "ugh I don't want to be here right now" vibe (if you know what I mean), and I think that after getting used to seeing that all the time, and then coming here and having this experience today is a pretty darn good reason for me to break up with my old grocery stores, drive a bit farther and just come here from now on. This is probably the cleanest location I've been to with the most competent employees. I hope the community continues to support this place!
