I guess to be fair I should say this is my only experience in Brazilian waxing. I don't go anywhere else because I don't need to! I had my first one when I was 39 weeks-ginormously-pregnant-which means I couldn't even hardly do anything to prepare for what I thought would be debilitating pain. Well, boy o boy was I surprised. What a positive experience! I assumed that it would be awkward for all parties but it was super cool. Very professional but also laid back and easy to chit chat and make the time go by. It is fast and the pain is not bad (and I am a notorious wuss). Most importantly the results were awesome. I will never go back to my previous hair status knowing what I know now. I have been going here about once a month-ish for over a year. I have had a wax done by everyone. Valerie is my regular but if I am in a pinch for scheduling I go with any of the other gals. I have experienced great results by each. I tell anyone who is interested in this service about this place because I truly think it is the best around. One last thing--the finipil is really great. If I could rate a zero for there service I would. Dont know about the work because I didnt get through with talking to the Bitch on the phone. Booked two apointments and was UNABLE to cancel online and nobody ever answers the phone so with no way to cancel, I called to reschedule. The gal I talked to was extremely rude and said I could book if I paid for the missed apointments ...this place is laughable.....if you cant handle cancellations then have a place online for clients to cancel. I can't claim to be really experienced in this, but have been to one exceptional place in Bellingham that I use as my basis for comparison. First, the location. There were multiple rough-looking guys coming/going from upstairs office. They may be really nice but I'm not looking to chit-chat with biker dudes outside of my wax joint. Second, the procedure. Though she was friendly enough & appropriately "clinical," simple things like applying pressure just after the "rip" - which makes a big difference in the discomfort - wasn't done. Lastly, the results. I went completely bare (having only done that 2-3x before) & could see multiple hairs that were missed once home. Not cool. I have been seeing Amanda at BDT for over a year now. She makes any wax service comfortable and she's very efficient too! I have gotten pretty much everything waxed at some point... from Brazilian to legs to brows to arms, and have never been disappointed. First time going and seeing Karen today. I have been waxing for months before but decided to try someone new today. She instantly made me feel comfortable and talked to me the whole time so I wasn't focused on the waxing part of it all. The room had a heater so I wasn't too cold and I have a towel to cover up with. The wax she uses makes it way way less painful compared to others that have been used on me before. I am always nervous to entrust my eyebrows to a new esthetician but was in Vancouver visiting family last August and booked an appointment with Tabitha. She waxed and shaped my eyebrows so beautifully that I now make appointments with her whenever I am visiting from Seattle. She is fun and comfortable to be around. Just simply amazing!!! I called as a pretty much last minute appointment before my vacation and Anna managed to get me in there to rip out some hair! All I have to say is between the silly conversation bouncing all over the place to the clean, soothing atmosphere, I felt so comfortable and it was not as awkward as my first time getting waxed at all!! I spoke with the Washington state board today after I received your reply. They told me that it did not matter that the product is not a paraffin or depilatory wax double dipping is still not allowed. I talked with the company of the product you use and while they said they approve of double dipping with their product if the state board does not allow double dipping in wax then you can not with their product. They said that sates still consider their product to be a wax even though they do not consider their product to be a wax. read more

I have seen Amanda now for about a year. Of course getting a Brazilian wax is never fun but she makes it the best it can be. She knows what she is doing and caters to her clients differently based on personality. She gives you time to breathe but doesn't let it drag on forever. Some people (not me) may feel uncomfortable with someone being so close up in their "business" but she is very professional. It's like a doctor in the sense that she sees that all the time and it is just her job. She is very sweet and talks to you the whole time, kind of relaxes you as much as that's possible. She is also informative about aftercare and how the hair growth process works, being in the medical field I already knew this but if I didn't it would be very useful for her to inform me. Overall an excellent experience! I can't speak for any of the other ladies there but I am sure they are fantastic! OK wax. I had gone there for a few months in a row for Brazilians, but I always had grow out within a few days if not the next day. And I always walked out bow legged and painful afterwards. I love the people there though, all of the girls are very easy to talk to and are super relatable. I ended up switching to Waxing Etc. and she does a MUCH better job waxing wise. Hair stays away for 4 weeks before I get grow back and my crotch isn't on fire when I leave. read more
