Once they started to make the coffee they realized the ice machine was out but already had taken the cash for the items they informed my husband they didn't have ice. Legitimately one of the worst sandwiches of my life. Bland deli sliced turkey, basic american cheese, whatever. It was drowned in thousand island dressing with a whole pickle crudely cut into thirds, three whole spears making the sandwich fall apart. My first time in the store yesterday for a cake as we were heading to old friends for a barbecue. My friends wife is celiac so we picked out a marble cheese cake, when the cashier rang it up, they actually asked for a tip? Feeling the pressure i gave a 20 percent tip making the total purchase 48.00 for what tasted like putty from a can. I do like the baked goods here so I'm going to be coming back but I will say I was a little upset at being charged $.75 for a plastic container. Hate to give a bad review here since Bare Naked was the first bakery we used since we found out my grandmother was gluten sensitive. The food was just average but we gave it a pass because not that many bakeries offer gluten free items. Well we found a couple more bakeries and they blow bare naked out of the water. Went back here recently and it seems worse than before. The service was terrible and we only got a couple of pastries because the meals are overpriced and does not taste good. All bakery products, breads and sweets, are inconsistent with freshness. So sometimes they're great, other times they're inedible. Which is a shame because it's so expensive. I was in the area so decided to stop by. I was intrigued that this place was 100% gluten free! Keeping that in mind, I had an understanding that the prices would be high. Everything looked great on the display. However, the rainbow cookie and Linzer tart had a chemical taste and did not taste very fresh. Anyways, the reason why I'm giving this place a low review is because the milk they had put on the coffee counter expired January 27!!! Today is February 19th. I literally the rotten milk in my cup! I informed the two girls working there (very sweet). Very apologetic..They brought out another bottle and that one expired February 6th!! My wife is gluten intolerant and was delighted to find this bakery , although over 20 miles away we made the trip. My wife was thrilled and she orderd a half dozen Bagels and a 17.95 loaf of Cinnamon Raisin Bread. On arriving home we discovered the bread was moldy on over 30 % of the loaf. Being understanding that this can happen we were told to return it , and we advised we were over 20 miles away and was told a manager would follow up to make arrangements for a credit or a gift card. That call never came . Called again and was told the same and never received a call. To sell a spoiled product for 17.95 and then not following up SHAME on you! I'd like to also comment on the staff on counter that day, the young lady fails to acknowledge people in the order they arrived as i witnessed waiting politely for her to complete the order she was working on and two other people walked in and she took there orders first for some reason keeping me waiting for over 5 minutes, ok that might be ion the entitled client base that feel they are better than others. I probably should have waited it out a little longer to retry the pizza but this morning I had some time so I popped in for a slice, retried the pizza and bumped my review up from 3 stars to 4 stars. First let me say I tried the pizza COLD, which was poor judgement on my part. After speaking with someone, I was told the pizza was much better warmed up so I decided to give the pizza a shot again this morning. They were right the pizza is ten times better warmed up, so if you opt to get pizza here get it heated. The crust tastes so much better warm, it's a little more buttery tasting and the warmth brings out the flavor and a better crust for the pizza. I do wish they would put more cheese if possible. So now that I have retried the pizza I am happy to say I liked everything I tried here so far and can't wait to randomly pop in here and there for more gluten free treats. From what I tried I found I was of an opinion that certain things are good here and certain things are not. By the time I go through a few cheat days maybe I'll be an expert on what to get and what to stay away from. Some people were saying the price was expensive. I paid about $15 for 4 items and in my opinion for a gluten free bakery that's not a bad price at all. I opted to try a slice of gluten free pizza and I said I'd take it cold. I'm not sure if it's better heated up but immediately I didn't like it. After giving it two more trial bites I threw it out the window of my car for some animals to eat. In my opinion I'd nix the pizza here. The chocolate chip cookie was okay. Not amazing but a good enough chocolate chip cookie. The linzer tart was amazeballs and I am so very happy about that. Linzer tarts are one of my very favorite things in the world and I think if I don't try to make them gluten free at home I know I can come here and be satisfied with their linzer tart. I also liked the cinnamon sugar bagel I tried. I put some nutella and peanut butter on it and took a nice walk on my lunch break while chomping on it. I'll definitely be back here on my cheat days when I have them which is rare or stop in a few days before my cheat day to get some treats to freeze. I might get my birthday cake from here in July. If their open on Mother's day I might ask hubby if we can come to breakfast here or at least stop in for a treat after grabbing a latte by my coffee shop. read more

I wanted to share an experience that I had this weekend. On Friday I went with my son (who has celiac) to Bare Naked in Bellmore. We had called earlier and placed an order for a bacon , egg and cheese sandwich (he loved it) Tried to order a few other things and was told we do not have them or that they needed to be ordered. So we went to pick up the sandwich and I told him while we are here see if anything else looks good. We got a brownie, doughnut, the sandwich and a loaf of corn bread. The brownie, doughnut and sandwich were good according to my son. When we got home that evening we decided to have the corn bread and to our surprise and disgust the bread was moldy. We went back Sunday morning and showed it to the people working in the store and were asked if we wanted something else to which we said no just the money back. She did not even want to make eye contact with me, It seems to me she was upset and that I was wrong in bringing the item back. She also said that we normally do not give money back. She then proceeded to hand the money back, never a sorry about that or we will look into it. I ordered a cannoli, chocolate chip cookie sandwich, and everything bagel to go and a chicken panini to eat in shop. The Primero panini was fantastic - complete with red pepper, spinach, mozzarella and a pesto aioli. I would definitely order again! Gluten Free establishments are notorious for the amazing owners and super nice and accommodating servers/bakers. Having celiac is a struggle so bare naked was always a go too but over time, i've noticed a decrease in quality of their product. Yesterday, I got a plain buttered bagel and reduced sugar cookies and my total was $25!! I could have made all of it myself, gluten free, for 1/4 the cost!! When the food is fresh, the price is okay.- When the food isn't, I shouldn't be paying $6 for a singular cookie. I'm paying way above what I should be to being with, as the customer the price point of the food should match with quality. I have never paid the same price twice on the same thing; Sad to say but true. When I asked for a menu with pricing, the older lady said "Well what do you want to know the cost of."If I pay with my card it cost more than if I would with cash. The price is already so high I find is unfair when your already charging me an outrageous amount. I feel like every time I go my food is either fresh or days old. The younger girls are always so nice but the older lady always gives me a nasty attitude. The atmosphere is a hit or miss; As well as the cleanliness. Always easy to park! Despite the lack of fully gluten free bakeries on Long Island, I personally stopped giving this bakery a chance several years back for their terrible attitudes and hit-or-miss desserts. My dad went here, over a 2 full weeks before Valentine's day, to see if he could order a pie for Valentine's day. Not surprisingly, they could not. However instead of being polite and professional, like usual they were unnecessarily rude. Trust me my dad NEVER complains and always gives the benefit of the doubt on someone having a bad day. Yet once again Bare Naked Staff manages to be the worst. They act like they have the gluten free market in a chokehold since our options are less, they can treat us however rudely they want.
