In 2023, I returned here for more cannoli and tried a number of flavors... did NOT write any Yelp review updates however. It was fun trying all their other flavors, yes, we tried them all, but I have to say that my heart still loves the original ricotta cream filling best. In 2024, I returned to Capri again for more rugelach, which is difficult to get since they only sell them on the weekends (and they only had apricot the particular weekend we went), and I tried another cannoli...this time, to comparison test with other Italian bakeries that I had recently tried (Maria's and Cardinali's). Well, I can now offer my non-Italian opinion and tell you that CAPRI bakery WINS my award for BEST CANNOLI (so far). It has everything I enjoy about a cannoli, and it will remain a winner by me. Next time I return to Long Island, I will try different cannolis from even more bakeries to see if Capri Bakery can continue its reign !! As for the apricot rugelach, I prefer their chocolate rugelach much more, although the apricot was good. Just not great like the chocolate. read more

Capri Bakery at 3434 Merrick Road is truly one of my favorite local spots! Every morning, the service is always amazing thanks to the morning girls -- especially Rachel, who is the manager now, and Sophie. They're always friendly, attentive, and make you feel welcomed the moment you walk in. Their cheesecakes are absolutely delicious -- rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. And I have to mention the rainbow cookies... they are honestly some of the best I've ever had! Fresh, soft, and full of flavor. If you're in the area, you definitely need to stop by Capri Bakery. The first time we came to this bakery, we got the best rainbow cookies. They were moist and delicious. The last 3 times we came here, the rainbow cookies were consistently old and dry! I think they were possibly a week old. Cannolis were not good either recently. Can't find myself coming back and spending significant amount of money on ancient goods. Really and truly, you can't be selling old food. It's ridiculous. What you can't sell, give them away at the end of the day or have your staff take them home. read more

I'm very particular about bakeries & I have to say Capri is one of my favorites. I mostly come for the rye bread because it is always fresh and authentic tasting but I enjoy the cookies and pastries as well. There is a great selection of goodies to choose from and everything is always fresh. I highly recommend! read more

'Good' bakery. Pignoli cookies were a little raw. And I don't mean too soft and chewy, I mean, the sugar didn't taste dissolved and the cookies fell apart - I'm no baker, but maybe a sign the dough wasn't mixed enough for the gluten to hold things together? That's not a texture you want in a cookie. And at over $40/pound for a sparsely pignoli-adorned cookie, definitely "meh". Rainbows were ok, thick layer of chocolate on top, if that's your thing. I meant to put this review yesterday as soon as we bit into our first pie right after dinner, because it was DELICIOUS! I bought a pecan pie, blueberry pie and cheesecake along with our ALL FAVORITE rainbow cookies to take Upstate for Thanksgiving. I was helped by Rachel and Sophia who handled the line of people effortlessly. They were extremely pleasant, and made the purchase quick and easy. I have been coming to Capri for 20 years and have not even wanted to try another bakery. If you have not tried them, you should, because you will definitely become a Capri junkie! Many shops called 'Bakeries' are actually pastry shops. Capri is a bakery you used to find on every other block in New York City, but sadly, no more. You know a soon as you enter. That wonderful smell; freshly baked bread and rolls and cakes and cookies, all mixed together. Plus the women working the counter are very friendly and polite and patient. If I worked at this bakery my weight would increase 50 pounds. Free parking. Enjoy. read more

I was quite disappointed with my Capri Bakery visit this past weekend. The cannoli shells were so thin that they broke off in my hand. They were not the crunchy shells that I enjoyed just a few months ago. The chocolate chips that they were dipped in were too sweet and overpowered the cannoli cream flavor. The custard filled chocolate eclair I ordered was the size of a cigar. It was good but not much bigger than a miniature pastry at full price. The Napoleon was soggy & not fresh. Just a few months ago, I was sure this would be my new go to bakery for Italian pastries, but after this past visit I will pass in the future. read more

Worst bakery EVER!!! My husband wanted to surprise me and my family with rainbows and rugelach cookies upon his return to California, so he stopped here in the morning before his flight to pick up. He purchased 4lbs and asked if they had fresh rainbows to make the flight back to CA, and the associate, Marlene said that she had the freshest in the back. She went to the back and packaged up 4 boxes. He gave them a tip for her kindness. When he got off the plane, we opened the box and tried one and they were so stale and hard! We tried several from each box and couldn't believe he was duped into spending so much and was tricked. They were so hard, we tossed them all out. Please do not support this business. They lie and sell you terrible cookies which and had to be over a week old. Disgusting! read more

Cannot believe I paid $25 a pound for such mediocre cookies. Rainbow cookies were dry and flavorless. Spent nearly $40 a small box of average pastries. Definitely don't recommend this bakery. Should have went to Aroila in farmingdale like usual for their amazing pastries but wanted to try something closer. Never again. read more

My mom comes in here on Sunday and she always says the young girls are always soooo sweet! My brother saw a cake that he liked and wanted for his graduation cake, he got his masters! I go in I felt rushed, I got the wrong cake because I was rushed and this is how they wrote on it ! I didn't see any sweet young girls in there. I think it was the owners wife? Spanish women? Well she was nasty and rude And the owner came out to talk to a customer- he was not friendly at all. How embarrassing is this handwriting and the cake was well not worth the money. read more

Capri-My childhood bakery. It is family owned & some staff I have known almost my entire life. The owner is a doll & I usually am lucky enough to see her on most of my visits. I am not biased, as my love for baked goods has led me to all ends of the country. There is really nowhere comparable for traditional Rainbow or Pignoli cookies. (Obviously I like almond paste) These are THE BEST I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. They have pre-made trays of assorted Italian Cookies if you are in a rush or you can select your own. I always recommend the Blueberry Cheese Ring especially if you are bringing dessert or breakfast. The cannolis actually deserve their own little section. They are all homemade & fresh. Filled directly in front of you. There are different variations of cannoli fillings. Their Traditional is great but I LOVE Pistachio, Caramel, & their Nutella Cannoli filling as well. Semolina, Italian, & French Bread & roll selection is always fresh here. Go early in the day if you need something specific. Parking is on Merrick Road or in the small lot located on the East side of the bakery. The lot expands behind the adjacent building so Ive never had an issue finding a spot. For COVID-19 they are allowing only 2 customers in the store at a time. Wear a mask. They accept cash or card, no apple pay yet. read more

Went looking to get a carrot cake for my daughters birthday, I ended up going here. They had one carrot cake there, I did not expect to pay $40 dollars for it. Did not look like anything special. At the end of the night we had this carrot cake and I was so embarrassed. It was so dry and crumbly no one wanted it, I wound up throwing $40 in the trash. Also, their customer service is terrible, very lacking. Nasty workers, don't waste your time and money at this dry ass dump. read more

My go to place on the weekends! Lately, I've been grabbing cheese and fruit danishes- and they are seriously the best in the area. Hard to find fresh, filled, glazed to perfection bakery danishes but this place is the real deal! Also their cannoli is so perfect! They fill the shells in front of you- as any real place should do (instead of having them prefilled behind the counter sitting and soaking their shells away). They have a variety of fillings- regular cannoli cream which is delicious enough, but also coffee flavored and pistachio flavored cream as well! So yum! They also have a choice of toppings to dip your cannoli into (sprinkles, pistachios, choc chips)- delightful treat to bring to a gathering! Everything here is A+ fresh! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews. However, I went back & forth to this bakery numerous times to speak the baker. I was told he would be in the next day. He wasn't. When I finally got to speak to him, he told me to bring my own cake decor so it would be cheaper. I went and bought the stuff. Came back when he told me to & he wasn't there. His wife told me he just forgot. I was reluctant at this point, but his wife promised he was really good at his job. They knew I was picking this cake up for my mother's 75th bday, which was also my wedding day. I told them I just wanted Something simple to go with my wedding theme. $50 & this is what they give me on my wedding day!! Thank God my MOH is a baker & had left over icing from my cake to fix it! Just left the bakery. My usual, go to , close to the house. Literally up the street , cookie and cake spot. As usual the same lady that helps me was rude , again. Today she was upset that I got more cookies than expected. That means that she has to take the cookies out of the smaller box and get a bigger box. Such a tough job. She sighed and grimaced when I asked for more cookies. Shouldn't she be glad I want to spend more money. She acts like she has such a tough job. Get over yourself lady. Looking for a new place, I triedCapri Bakery. I took out a carrot cake, a strawberry shortcake, an Oreo cream cake, tiramisu and rugelach. Shockingly, it was all below par. The items looked pretty but were not wonderful. I served many guests and all agreed this was not a bakery they would use. Very disappointing and I will not return. read more

On June 2, 2023 I needed a cake (last minute) for my fiancés brother for his birthday. His brother's request was banana cake. I called several bakery's and no one was able to help me until I called CAPRI BAKERY and spoke with Rob. He was able to make a fresh cake with fresh bananas & chocolate pudding filling everything that was requested by the birthday boy and it was ready for pick up by 6:30 that evening. Little did Rob know that my fiancés brother has cancer and has been very ill and not eating but the cake was amazing and his brother ate almost all of it with in that week. I now have ordered the same cake as we are going over to see him this weekend. Moral of this story is that Rob (Capri Bakery) went above and beyond and made my fiancés brother so happy with Rob's creation. Thank you all for making him smile and going above and beyond. read more

Was on my way home and needed to pick up so goodies for a housewarming party. HeArd a lot of good things about this bakery. But my experience was horrible. The lady that helped me wAS ABSOLUTELY RUDE. And when I got to my friends house we found hair in the cookies. They were cooked with the hair in them. I was shocked and disgusted. Paid a lot of money. I called the bakery up. And the person who picked up was rude and pretty much told me I was a liar. If they have hair in the cookies they must have bugs. Cause they don't care. Disgusting. Will never go back. read more

It was actually delicious but the portion was a bit smaller than what I was expecting. Atmosphere inside comfortable and active with new patrons walking in. I opted to sit outside which made me feel like I was in NYC at a ritzy Cafe next to Central Park. It was quieter and relaxing. *Parking lot is Huge and shared with other stores. Use exit number 3 for a traffic light to cross over Wantauh Avenue. *Bathrooms; are two and both co-ed. *Final thoughts Pardon my "FRENCH" but the French Workshop was just ok for me. They didnt have scoopable ice-cream on hand which would have been nice next to my cake and their coffee wasn't on par in regards to a "RICH BOLD TASTE". And they have a few vegan options! Don't expect macarons nor tarts, but that blueberry croissant I had was so delicious. It was more of a whole grain pastry than a traditional buttery croissant but because the blueberry filling was so sweet, I was happy for a less decadent pastry. I love that they have a nice array of coffee and matcha drinks too. I'm pretty sure the word has been out for some time now, but when that Starbucks line in the parking lot is just too much, The French Workshop is a better option (however, on a rainy Saturday in May, that line inside was considerable. People know what's good!) There's plenty of seating, too and if you are good at pretending, you almost feel you're in Europe (ignore the suburban strip mall that surrounds you).

The beef crunch wrap was plentiful and tasteful with my favorite item being the Baja tacos that provided both a crunch and sweet/flavorful taste. Overall good experience and wouldn't hesitate to try again and next time include one of their sangrias.

I decided on a milkshake called tweedle dee which is cotton candy and vanilla with vanilla ice cream. It was very whimsical with the candy sprinkles around the cups edge. Well, that is NOT the case with Baked by Emily Rose. Not only did we love the cake, but several of our guests said that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. Also, the cakes were gorgeous. Emily used real white roses to garnish the top. It looked amazing. My only regret is that we were unable to take pictures.
