I got the Sunkissed Summer Facial... Joyce was amazing!!! From assessing my skin type, to recommending the best products and service for my next visit. This was my very first facial ever, and I loved it! The space is super cute! The room was very comfortable, and the spa setting and music overall just very relaxing. The facial consisted of a number of exfoliants, masks, and extractions. Every single application smelled delicious--you can tell the products are high quality with natural ingredients. I came to Bare Necessities new location in Tanglewood after reading their Montrose location's reviews and seeing how great people find their spa. I knew I wanted to get a facial of some sort, and the front desk when scheduling as well as the esthetician helped me determine which was best based on my skin. After my appointment began, I was walked back to our room by Joyce who explained the process to me and showed me where I could find my robe and where to lie down. She was very calm and gentle in her approach and walked me through the steps of the facial without disrupting the relaxation I was able to savor while there. Joyce looked at my skin and determined the Calm Skin facial would be best for me as I had some strong irritation and my wedding was a week away. We started with the Stone Crop Gel Cleanser and followed it up with some calming and gentle masks to help with the redness. Joyce would use warm towels to remove the masks and follow up with a moisturizer. The space was clean and comfortable, and the sound machine played relaxing rain in the background. Lights were dimmed as well. At the end of the appointment she let me get dressed and met me up front to help me see if there were any Eminence products I was interested in purchasing that she had used on me that day. I used a Yelp $200 voucher I bought for $150 to pay for this appointment. From what I can tell the Eminence products are not marked up from what they are sold for elsewhere. Eminence is only used at specific spa locations and Bare Necessities happens to be one of them. read more

I've seen Stephanie a couple of times now for Brazilian and lower legs. She is very competent, nice, and makes sure that you feel comfortable. I've always had problems with small talk with estheticians and stylists, but chatting with Stephanie is very enjoyable. The waxing is as pain free as it can get, and the results last. There's also a discount for Brazilian if you come back exactly a month later. The space is welcoming and calming, and there's plenty of parking around (you may not get a spot in front of the door, but you'll find one not far away). The only tiny detail that would bother me if I wasn't keeping a calendar on hand is the timing of their appointment reminders: they always call me just a little short of 24 hours before my appointment, which means that rescheduling or cancellation then would mean a $25 fee. But overall, this is the only place I would recommend for waxing in Houston. read more
