When my husband and I moved to Chesterfield, we bought a foreclosure for a really good price. But…read morebeing a foreclosure, it needed work. It had dog-urine-soaked carpet throughout the house, and we wanted it (needed it) gone. We knew that we wanted wood floors since our cat really likes to scratch carpet. My grandfather suggested we join Angie's list to find a contractor for our wood floors. I signed up for a one-month membership for Angie's list, and only contacted companies with an A rating and really good reviews. Jeremy Lauck Professional Hardwood Floor Service was one of four companies (narrowed down from a list of 22 companies) that we had out to our house for bids. His bid wasn't the lowest, but it was the second lowest. And, unlike the two most expensive companies, he wasn't using factory stained hardwood flooring. He installed unstained wood, sanded it, then stained and sealed it. Since our subfloors weren't perfectly level, this was the best option for us. Jeremy Lauck and his colleague were able to sand the floors level before staining. We had two bedrooms and a landing that were already oak, but it was in disrepair. Jeremy and his colleague repaired those floors, and sanded and stained them. We picked a coffee stain for those floors. Jeremy and his colleague then put very similar oak into the third bedroom, and we chose to have it stained with a natural color stain. Downstairs, they installed select hickory in our dining and living room. We were able to leave it with a natural stain, and the floors are beautiful. All of the floors are beautiful. The surfaces are nice and smooth, and the 40 year old floors upstairs look brand new. We are so pleased that we're planning on having Jeremy Lauck Professional Hardwood Floor Service back out to install hickory in our den (after we finish a few other renovation projects). Jeremy Lauck Professional Hardwood Floor Service was quite a find. They don't advertise, but rely on word-of-mouth and customer reviews. I'm really glad we found them--all of the rave reviews we read were spot-on! They left us with no mess to clean up, and with beautiful hardwood floors customized to our tastes.
