OMG I think I have found my favorite nail bar in Charlotte....fair pricing, CLEAN and bright. Staff is extremely friendly. Walked in for a pedicure. They have three options - priced fairly at $30, 35, and 45. I opted for their middle package that came with a massage, sugar scrub, and hot towel. They got out my ingrown toenails with zero pain and scrubbed my feet easily without me being too ticklish (hard feat for me!!) Music was poppy but not over the too loud and the televisions were silent. They do offer drinks - waters and soft drinks to wine or Prosecco/rosé. Chairs were comfy & well taken care of with no split seats or remote controls. Water was perfect temperature and not scalding hot. I have now gone 3 times for and SNS dip powder manicure, and unfortunately keep getting the same older gentleman who leaves my nails with all different shapes, and a messy half-done top cover that goops and comes off. He is so nice, But I always have to ask him to fix something, and I never leave with nice nails. It's so frustrating to have to come back to get them to fix it, and then it is never fixed. I had a bad experience here. I'm not sure if the lady was prejudice or just mean. Came in to have my toes polished and sns removed. So after she soaked my nails had to go to back for my toes, I had my pc, phone and wallet. Think she helped and tried to grab anything? Nope. So I struggled and figured it out. I sit down. She doesn't even give me a second to sit and get comfortable, I asked how to adjust the chair. She showed me the button. I started to adjust and while I am adjusting she starts painting my toes. Whole experience was horrible. Take off of sns was rough, she hurt my hand twice. Didn't apologize. I will never return. Smh. Definitely noticed a difference in the treatment I received versus others who were white. Sad. Never again! I was referred to this nail salon and am extremely disappointed. My pedicure is decent, however the lady whom then did my SNS was awful. She claimed she was matching my gel pedi color to the correct SNS color and it's nowhere near close. While filing my nails with the drill she cut my cuticles to the point they were bleeding on three nails. There is still SNS color on my skin around my nails the day after as it won't come off. Several of my nails are so slight you can see straight through the color not to mention my right hand ring finger the color is much darker than all of the other nails as a result of her messing up the nail a few times. $116 dollars later I am highly disappointed and will be requesting a refund for my SNS as I don't trust this salon to do my nails again! read more

I have been coming here for the past years, and the experience was always top notch. Clean and nice salon, skilled, prompt, and personable staff. I am picky about nail services and have tried other salons in the area and Barefoot Nail Bar was always a favorite that I kept reverting to. They were always meticulous, which was my top concern. For the past few months all staff has been gone. Only one nail tech is still there as of now. There is no information as to why the entire staff is gone, and I understand it can be a complex situation. It would be good for some information to be shared with the loyal customers that have been visiting the salon for years however. I took my fiancé to get a manicure and a pedicure for her birthday this year. After doing my research, I settled on barefoot nail bar. I chose to get myself a pedicure as well because I had never had that experience before. The ladies who did our feet and my fiancé's hands did an extremely nice job. I never knew what I had been missing until I got this pedicure. It was also very affordable. My total bill for two deluxe pedicures and a gel manicure with the tip included was only $145. I wish I could give NO stars. This is the worst nail salon experience I've ever had...period. My daughter and I went in for pedicures, and I also wanted the powder dip on my hands. I paid $5 extra for a little bit of nothing callous removal (no removal really) over the general pedicure that other salons include. Things got worse. I picked out a pretty light blue color for my fingernails. I explained to the worker I had to be home by 2:00 to work online or I would miss my shift and $100. He assured me I could make that deadline. The manicurist proceeded to butcher my cuticles with the electric file. My cuticles looked awful. He added nail extensions. Then he dipped my nails into a bright blue powder. I told him it wasn't the right color. He assured me again that all was well; the color would lighten. It didn't. Another worker told him it was the wrong color as well. She suggested dipping my nails into gray powder. By now it was 1:55. I had lost $100 in salary. I talked to the manager, and he at least didn't charge me for the manicure, but that's not $100. I left with horrible looking cuticles--one was bleeding-- and a color I didn't like. Things got even worse. Last night I woke up with a throbbing finger. By 6:00 am, it has swollen double in size, turned bright red, was hot to the touch, and extremely painful. I made a doctor's appointment. She told me the infection was due to poor hygiene at the salon. I had to pay a doctor bill, buy medicine, and wrap my finger in cabbage -- takes down swelling, but makes it hard to work online. So...I am out $100 salary, money for the doctor bill, money for medicine, a shoddy manicure (plus minus one color -- I had to remove the dip from the infection), and a very infected finger. Do NOT go to this salon. It's not what it used to be: poor workmanship, poor hygiene. read more

Super disappointed with this place. I was in the area for the morning due to my car being in the shop down the road. I was a walk-in and lucky enough (so I thought) to get in within about 10 min for a gel manicure. By far this is the worst polish job I have ever received. Not only was the polish not very even - transparent in some places, but within 12 hours cracks started to appear in one of my nails and by 24 hours almost every nail has fine cracks in the shellac. I've had dozens of gel manicures and have never had this cracking situation happen before. Unfortunately, the salon is an hour from home and I have no intention of driving down there for another disaster of a manicure. AVOID this place. read more

My tech had a scowl on her face the entire time. When she was scrubbing my feet, I jumped because I'm ticklish...she gave the dirtiest look, not once but four times. I even said at one point, "it's obvious you are annoyed with me but what you are doing tickles". That ruined the visit. For the remainder of the time, I kept catching her staring at me with not a pleasant look. In the middle of the appointment she got missing for quite some time. Additionally, I was not that pleased with the outcome of my nails. She asked if I wanted to cut my nails but never asked how short. She butchered them. The only time she was nice and personable was during payment. I have been searching for a clean salon in the Matthews area and with the reviews here I thought I'd found it. Spent over $100 here this visit *before* the generous tip. I had two five year olds with me that asked to have a small white heart painted on one nail each. Instead of painting a white heart, they stuck these two small purple stickers on there nails with no clear coat and then tried to charge me $10 for these two little stickers. I understand charging for designs but they did NOT paint a design and $10 for these tiny little stickers is ridiculous. I could buy a pack of stickers for cheaper than that. I was in search of a new nail salon, because mine went under new management, so I tried this one based on the recommendation of someone. I got SNS put on my nails and after less than 24 hours, 6 of my 10 nails were cracked in several places. I have been getting my nails done in SNS for about 3 years and have never had this problem. I went back to them and instead of starting over like I asked, Mia ground them down some and added color on top of the base she left. That was two days ago and today, one of my nails chipped this time. Another lady spent less than 5 minutes fixing it, didn't apologize and left color on my skin and under my nail was left goopy and stuck to my skin. I really wanted this place to work, because it is convenient, although more expensive than some. I do not recommend this salon at all. Three strikes, you are out! read more

I literally spent all morning looking for a nail salon near me that did SNS. First one I went to she kept telling me that the color she liked was "prettier" than what I picked. Second one I asked for SNS and a pedicure. Pedicure was great! She only had 3 colors in SNS and the plastic pieces for tips were put on crooked. The colors she had were neon so I passed and said I'd pay for the pedicure and was on my way. I finally went to Barefoot and from the moment I walked in I was greeted with a friendly face and was helped in choosing a color that matched my just painted toes. Desperate for any bit of pampering during my last month of pregnancy, I popped into Barefoot for a pedicure. Let's be honest, I couldn't see my feet past my bump anyways! I was pleasantly surprised in spite of the strip mall location in Matthews. However, it makes for very easy parking when you have to waddle in. The selection of polishes is fantastic and they are in the midst of major renovations so all of the chairs are brand spanking new which means the massage features all work great. Barefoot was incredibly clean inside and you could see the autoclave machine being used as well as fresh towels being carried out. They offer beverage service including mimosas with fresh strawberries. The pricing was very reasonable. $15 will get you a basic pedicure but there are add one packages with things like paraffin dips or cooling lotions for $30 to $45. The technicians are also all super friendly and easy to chat with. My pedicure lasted a solid three weeks and it was not a gel based one. read more

I do my own nails often at home and noticed she completely skipped the first step of sns which is laying down a base layer over the tip of your natural nail so they don't crack easily. Had such a great experience there yesterday. I went with a friend to get pedicures, and called the day before to make sure they had room for us at 2:00. No problem. Got in and picked my polish and they left my feet to soak while the nail tech was finishing up with their previous client. I'm not sure the name of the young man who did my nails, but not only did he do an excellent job, but he had such a great personality! We laughed and chatted like we were friends. He spent extra time on my rough heels and kept checking to make sure he was getting all the rough skin off. We were then told to pick a color, which was odd because, they didn't ask us what services we were having. The place wasn't busy, so they could have been a little more hands on. The salon is super clean. The nail techs who completed our services were super nice, however I did feel that they were rushing us to pick a color. There are always a ton of colors so they should understand that sometimes it can be overwhelming (especially for a little girl). I was overall pleased with my pedicure and my daughter love her both her pedicure and manicure. While they offered to do a manicure for me, I didn't feel they were trying to upsell me in an aggressive manner. I would recommend but probably wont return.
