I salon hopped for two years before finding Swan Nails. The other places were hit or miss but at Swan, I consistently get quick and quality service. I've been seeing Kay for a year and a half and my nails (dip) always last a full month. If I crack a nail (which is always my own doing - hitting my finger on a weight, car door, etc.), Kay lets me pop in for quick repair. I also recommend Kay's pedicures if you want to walk out feeling like you have new feet. If you're looking for somewhere reliable and friendly, this is it. Swan took over Petals and it's for the worse. I am usually not one to complain but this was a bad experience despite the manager trying to help fix it. I went for a manicure and was recommended by staff to pay the extra for "quick dry" as it would last longer. The girl who did my nails was barely over 18 and didn't even shape well. There were no certificates on the walls. Nail polish starting coming off within 24h and I went back 2 d after my manicure and spoke to the manager who never apologized, only told me they were disappointed in the quick dry product. She told me they would redo the quick dry for free, and when I stated this would probably have the same poor result, she said she has new product since I came but then wasn't sure. I told her I really just wanted a manicure that would last me at least a few d. She said her recommendation was for me to pay the difference upcharge for a gel manicure to ensure it would stay. When I complained about having to come back and that I would not pay any more after this, she said she would do the gel manicure without charging me more (which I was happy about and I did leave a generous tip for the aesthetician who I did feel was competent at least). 3 d later, my gel manicure started coming off and within 1 week, ALL the nails were messed up. Not sure what happened but I realized later that day or the next that my toe was cut. Maybe the cuticle was cut too deeply b/c there was no blood, but it took a full week to heal + it hurt badly for days. Tech never said a word. Never again. I have been here three times now and I'm going to keep coming back! :) I have gotten a gel mani, pedi and a regular mani. Don't be fooled by the bench seating for the pedi's you sit on, it does have a massage remote! And a cord to charge your phone if needed. The petals in the water made me feel extra pampered. I loved the warming gloves on my hands for the regular mani. Each time the technician took their time and I have never felt rushed. This place is clean, bright and simple. There is a huge nail color selection to choose from. The have OPI (even a few types: infinite?) and Kiara Sky. Beverages has always been offered, including wine or mimosas. Each time I have also gotten a different technician but each has been friendly and talked to me throughout my service. read more

Polish applied unevenly (super thick coating in the center of the nail but thin layer on the outer edges), nails were not filed evenly (they are all slanted), and parts of the nails didn't even get polish. I came here on suggestion from a friend as I just moved to the area. It's located in a little shopping center with a Tuesday Morning. The salon is very clean. And the staff is incredibly nice and professional. They have a great selection of colors. Their prices are on par with the area ($35 for a soak off and gel manicure). They don't have individual manicure stations, there is a long bar along the side of the salon and manicures are done there. They offer beverages and snacks. They also have a little sitting area in the front for those waiting. My gripe then? While the woman who did my nails was very sweet... after she cleaned my nails and put my base coat and first layer of gel she realized she left on some of my gel from my last mani. Instead of offering to redo the nail (although there are several nails that have the old polish popping through) she mentioned it and went on. I felt uncomfortable asking her to redo it after that. My polish did take a long time to come off because I had three coats from my last manicure. After soaking my nails and trying to remove the polish twice, I asked for a heat pack to be applied. It definitely took a lot of time, but I wish it was all removed. The coverage of the polish is also kind of inconsistent. I was with a friend who looked like she got a great manicure- to be fair. It's a real bummer because this place is so close, very clean, and the staff is very friendly. read more

Listen!!! If you're in Charlotte, THIS is the place you need to be!! I was visiting from Georgia and found this place on a whim from a Google search. One of THE BEST pedicures I've ever had! Lisa did her thang!! The guy I spoke to on the phone was so kind and friendly, and his personality matched in person. Everyone just made you feel so welcomed. I went here because it had awesome reviews, and my nails looked great when I left but literally every single one has cracked in less than 1 week. I refuse to pay again to get them done because I'm worried they will just all crack again. I don't do much work with my hands so I have no idea why every nail has cracked. Very friendly staff, cute place, but my nail polish all chipped off in about 3 days which is not normal. Usually I can make the regular non-gel polish lash for about a week. I also think the "massage" couches they have don't exactly count as a spa pedicure because all they do is vibrate. read more

Very pretty and clean salon. I wanted a place close to work to get my toes done on my lunch break. There are quite a few to choose from but the reviews for most were terrible. I chose Petals as it is close, very clean and average price. Julie the nail tech was awesome. She took her time to do a great job and has a fabulous personality. The only reason i have petals 4 stars is that i personally found the seating for a pedicure terribly uncomfortable. The look is beautiful very modern, clean and sleek but the seats are bench like so you are forced to sit up straight with your back to the wall the entire time. I personally like to be comfortable and relax a little more during a pedicure. Overall experience and atmosphere is great and i would still recommend it. read more

My new favorite nail bar in Charlotte! I've been here 5 times since they have opened and I can honestly say they are one of the best nail salons in Charlotte. My gel nails have easily lasted 3+ weeks here without peeling or chipping. Usually at week 2 my nails will begin to curl and peel along the edges, but not at Petals. I was so impressed the first few times, and now after 5 visits I have solidified that it must be the "magic" at Petals that makes my nails last. And the best part- the prices are inline with competitors. $30 for a gel manicure. Lots of color options. Free drinks. Great customer service. Clean. Modern. Attention to detail! I was definitely on a mission because since my last visit here I have not found another nail salon to take care of me like they do. It's clean and they have a huge assortment of colors to pick from. New kid on the block, and they're definitely earning their place. They've been open about 3 months, so they're not super busy just yet as people are still learning about Petals. The staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating. I went in with my wife to get a pedicure. Once I was set up and seated, they asked if I wanted a drink (should be -1 star because they don't have beer like all other nail salons, but I'm feeling nice today) and even asked if I needed a charger for my phone while I was getting my service done. Pricing is right in line with other places, but the quality was above. My wife's manicure lasted much longer than some of the other local places she's gone to. Amazing salon: clean, friendly staff, good atmosphere and great prices. Color selection: there are over 100 different colors I'd say to choose from. They have a variety of brands as well including OPI and Essie. Clean: the salon was very clean. The tools came in wrapped bags. The pedicure basins looked like they put a bag in it for each person. Perks: punch card that for every 10 services you get $10 off. There is no 3 day policy, if your nails chip you can go in even on day 4. They offer snacks and drinks. If you bring your kid, they have kid friendly drinks as well. Outlets by every pedicure chair to charge your phone. Parking!! There is ample parking spots as it's located in a shopping center. Pricing: great for both waxing and nail services. At only $10 for an eyebrow wax, I'll definitely be switching from Ulta. I called ahead to see if they did SNS ombré and they told me yes, I get there and they have no clue how to do Ombré. My nail tech was a man named John! He refused to do my nails and buff them out for me!!! His skills were lacking and he told me he had never done ombré. He told me he could not do glitter on my nails because he didnt know how! This was a horrible nail experience and I am now stuck with half done nails!! don't ever go to this place, they don't know what they are doing! This is how my nails looked when I was asked "impolitely" to leave! Moved to Charlotte a few months ago and have tried a few other nail salons. None of them come close to Petals. As I walked in, I was immediately greeted by someone and directed towards a chair. The owner came by and offered me a drink. (water, soda, wine, beer, etc.) My nail tech was super sweet and very attentive to detail. I chose a ombre pink and white sns powder. It was a very long process and not once did the nail tech seem annoyed. As other nail techs finished with other clients, they stopped by and complimented my nail techs work. I did come in a hour or so before closing time but they were happy to take me and not once did I feel as if they were rushing to finish. The profile here says that walk-ins are welcome. My experience is just the opposite. I walked in today to get my nails done and there was no one waiting. The nail techs that were there or each with a customer. When I walked in, one of the techs asked "may I help you? ". I said yes, may I get a pedicure and SNS? She responded "honestly, no". And left it at that. Her tone and facial expression was not at all friendly or welcoming. I turned around to walk out and only once I was walking away she asked if I wanted to make an appointment. They are open until 6 PM, so why they did not offer me. The option of waiting was not clear to me. I would rather go anywhere else than to give this place my money. I've had the same thing happened at least twice before with the same specific individual who obviously has an attitude. read more

Take your business elsewhere. Pros: Clean, Cheap and Nice/funny staff. Cons: Everything else. This is one of the worst manicures I have ever had. I chose to do Dip which is what i usually get. The shape is not what i asked for even though I asked several times, I ended up just giving in because the manicurist obviously wasn't going to do it. Not only were they not shaped properly, they weren't even filed properly. The edges are rough, not smoothed, and are different shapes. This salon does not use the clear powder before applying the color dip. This clear powder is ESSENTIAL. It serves as a Base to smooth the nail texture. My nails with polish on them look like someone scratched up the top of the polish because this base was not used. VERY sloppy. Lastly, the manicurist chipped my nail while the dip was drying and instead of starting over she filed it down and just added a top coat. My nail is now completely dented and its very obvious. In usual Charlotte style, this is another salon where it seems like people will just settle for a standard of manicure that is way below par. read more
