this was the worst company our complex ever dealt with. they came in with a fair bid, took our money, failed to pull a permit, started work promptly, then started coming less and less to the job site. we fired them due to this and had another company come in to look at the mess that was left. the other company said the work was subpar and many things would need redone. when we hired legal to step in, we found others had already filed suit we most like will lose our money which was substantial. do not use this company!!!!! read more

Had the same experience as Robert M. We paid each installment when due, yet he did not finish the contracted work. He failed to deliver the pool cover that we paid for. He failed to deliver the pool popups that we paid for. He did not install the diving board. He did not remove all of the rebar. He did not return our calls and emails. I also wish I could give negative stars. This is the worst experience I have ever been through. Gordon will not answer your texts or calls. You will do all you inspections alone because he will not show up. He will not deliver the equipment you paid for or show you how to even use your pool. I am still in the process of trying to get resolution and Gordon just does not care. My pool has taken over 345 days so far and is still not complete. If I call from my phone he will not answer but you can call from a friends and he will so he is avoiding his calls. The last conversation we had he hung up on me. I just want all the parts to my pool and want to be done with this nightmare. I hired Gordon because I thought he had integrity but he does not. Let me start off by saying that I was hesitant to hire Gordon after reading the reviews. My husband ad I sat down with him and he assured us that our needs would be met. We hired him to install a pool, hot tub, and waterfall. I had three crews that we hired to do the pool, concrete and fencing. The part that was stressful was trying to get everyone in sync. The process was longer than I expected due to weather and other unforeseen events, but it was finally completed. The pool turned out prettier than we could have wished for. We contracted to install a pool by barefoot pools out of Pittsburg California early this year. Gordon Johnson owner. We paid each installment when due, yet he fails to live up to his contract. He failed to deliver the pool cover that we paid for. He failed to deliver the pool sweeper that we paid for. He broke the fence and failed to fix the damage he caused. He failed to finish removing the rebar. He failed to remove the construction debris when the decking was installed. He failed to fix the crack in the concrete near the pool equipment that was created when the pool was filled. He fails to return calls and emails. He laughs when we ask when he plans to honor his committments. He is the type of business owner that should not be allowed to do business. Don't let this happen to anyone you know. We have a beautiful pool, but he is not finished. His dishonesty has us regretting choosing him as the poolbuilder. Hate to say bad things about gordon. Super nice guy. But when you spend 90 k on a pool it should be perfect. I know if it was in his own backyard it would get fixed properly. He is unreliable and doesn't follow through with what he says. 6 months after my pool is done. Concrete is cracking. Rocks falling off. Concrete is lifted away from pool the coloring is worst ive ever seen. No matter who puts a pool in your yard same price. You choose a company to take care of you. We are very happy with the pool Gordon built for us. It looks very beautiful and the kids love it. People always comment on how beautiful the design is. Gordon has been responsive to ongoing issues which is very important to me. We currently have a broken heater which falls under warranty and he was able to get someone out the same week. read more

I also wish I could give negative stars. This pool company has been horrible to us. They put in our pool in 2003 and after threatening small claims court FINALLY put in a pool sweep 5 YEARS later!!!!! We had bought a manual pool sweep even though we had paid for Gordon to put one in. When he did finally bring us the sweep one of the lights in the pool had become so much build up from poor cleaning it went out and the replacement bulb is $700 which he refuses to pay. The pool sweep that he brought to us is such poor quality it only turns to the right and gets stuck once its moved up the pool wall. It's so frustrating to run the pool sweep and continue to have a dirty pool. Also when he installed the control pad he failed to give us one to accomodate what we need. If I can save one person the pain of trusting this man, I have done my job. read more

I hate the fact that I can't give negative stars. If I could I would. This is by far the absolute worst contractor I have ever met and hired in my entire life. Please save your self the headache. Gordon Johnson is the owner of the company. He is on point up until right after you sign contracts. After that good luck trying to get a hold of him or getting him to stick to any kind of schedule. Our spa was supposed to be completed by indepencence day and its almost August and we are still waiting on cosmetic details to be completed. To add insult to injury when we called Gordon to express our concerns he had the nerve to hang up on us. How the hell do you stay in business treating customers like this. Gordon is also either a liar or is not at all in touch with what his subs offer as far as design. We were told certain things were not available but the companies themselves tell us they are available. Anything to save a dollar Gordon. This elderly man needs to retire because is heart is truly not in it anymore and the only ones who suffer is the customer. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this company. I could go on and on about the horrible service we received. Gordon Johnson is the worst contractor I've done business with if I could rewind time I would gladly pay more money to someone else to do the job.
