With everything being shut down because of covid, my wife and I decided to pull the trigger after years of savings. We ended with Lifestyle fiberglass pools after 5 other quotes, and I'm happy we did. Madison was super helpful and patient with all my questions and emails, and trust me, I had a lot. Every aspect of this project was professional and clean. The dig/set team was very polite and clean. The Concrete team did a fantastic job and were also very clean. I have three small boys running around all day so I appreciated they cleaned up at the end of the day and didn't leave it as a messy construction site. A huge shout out to Brian. He eased my mind several times during the process, and took all the stress out of it. Brian was very polite and professional. A few weeks before our pool was set to begin, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. The entire team at Lifestyle fiberglass took this into consideration for us. You can make your own decision if you want to use Life Style Pools. Here is my story. I'll start with the last thing they sent me. One of their contractors told me they were yelling and swearing at him, calling him a liar. When I relayed this back to them I got: "I would never speak to one of my prime contractors in that manner. If you put my name in any more emails defaming me or on a review I will sue you for everything you have... Don't ever email me or call me again. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR EQUIPMENT.... !!!!!" I chose Life Style because they were the cheapest and installed the brand of pool I wanted. I noted their bad reviews and was told those were people who asked for more than they paid for. The contract states they are not liable for property damage, and dirt removal and crane pick are separate costs -- about $10,000 and $3,000 respectively, which brought their price closer to other bids. During the install they came before I could remove a fence section and destroyed it. Their equipment drove over my wooden deck tiles, destroying them and burying some under dirt. A corner of my pergola was also damaged. Months passed with no pool -- they said the pool company sent the wrong one. They offered an 18" waterfall for the inconvenience. When the pool arrived they installed a 12" waterfall off-center, then swapped it to an 18". The concrete crew got concrete on my retaining wall, fence, house, pergola, and patio furniture. They also left the section of concrete they cut to run pipes unfilled -- claiming it wasn't part of the install. I paid to have it filled. After filling the trenches, all the extra dirt I had paid to remove was back. They did come back to remove it. Despite the bumps, I was planning to give them a good review. Then problems started. My water company flagged constant water usage -- the pool's autofill was running nonstop. They sent someone who adjusted it. Then the pump kept going into vapor lock, pulling air from the skimmer. I found concrete under the skimmer basket and asked them to send someone. They said they did -- my security camera showed no one came. It turned out their tech went to the wrong house. They insisted there was no problem with the pool, only the pump. They eventually sent a plumber with a camera -- no blockage found, just air pockets. Then they refused to pay for the plumber, so I paid. A tech they claimed had signed off on my pool came out and told me he had never been to my house. He raised the water level and said that would fix it. It didn't. I contacted Jandy directly. Their tech said the pump was fine and suspected a small leak. I paid for that visit too. Life Style then told me there was nothing wrong, that I had argued with their tech, that I had adjusted the autofill wrong (their guy had adjusted it), and that I had changed valves (I hadn't). The owner called, I corrected the record, and shortly after I received the threatening email above. Someone came by my house when I wasn't home. I tried reaching the owner again -- no response. I eventually solved the problem myself. Walking by the pool one day I heard air being sucked from the skimmer -- the skimmer door was getting stuck closed. I sanded the edge slightly so it moved freely. Problem solved. The pool has worked great since. I also noticed the waterfall was never caulked, leaving gaps. I caulked it myself and moved on. The sad part is the issue was something small. If they had spent a little more time troubleshooting instead of refusing to acknowledge a problem, I would have given them a good review despite everything. I love my fiberglass pool. Brian and Madison were great to work with. Everyone loves my pool and so do I. The best part is the automatic cover. I cannot imagine having a pool without that cover. It stays clean all year long. I literally vacuum it only once a year whether it needs it or not, start to a finish takes about 20 minutes, just around the edges where a little bit of residue might build up, that is how amazing it is to have a cover like that! They were fast and always good about communication. A year ago I ended up with this contractor because he was the only one willing to work in my town and he came recommended by other fiberglass pool installers. Today I have an awesome pool and I love it. However I have construction experience and friends who are contractors that helped along the way. My wife felt they operate like a Ponzi scheme funding the current project with future project income and they could go bankrupt at any time. I had to threaten them with my lawyer a few times to get them moving. They know how to install a fiberglass pool and their crew are probably the best in the business at digging a hole getting it level and placing a shell level within 1/4 inch. They subcontract transportation of the shell, crane services. concrete, equipment moves, dirt disposal, and covers, which can create long delays in scheduling. They have a contract that makes sure they get paid because they have been burned in the past. This is risky. And their dates are extremely padded for maximum flexibility for them. Brian said fiberglass is better in concrete in every way except customization. I would agree with him. They advertise a fast install, but it was not fast. It took them as long or longer as a concrete install witch is disappointing. Their tags were expired on their vehicles and equipment problems like missing keys for heavy equipment and parts delivered to the wrong location proved to me they are not as organized as most. I did like them all and got along with them all personally, but they could benefit from Gantt charts, better communication, and faster installs. We definitely do not recommend Lifestyle Pools. Brian and Madison were terrible to work with, extremely dishonest and ask for money before work has been preformed which is illegal to do. They started our project without correct permits or approvals from our city and caused us months delay. Our pool equipment was installed improperly and they refused to come fix it. Our project started in March of 2024 and a year later it's still not complete, and they have refused to come fix our equipment that they installed incorrectly. We had to withhold the final payment to try to get the problems fixed, they refused and sent us to collections and Brian refused to even speak to us on the phone. worst pool company you can ever work with. it is not possible to find a company that is worse than Lifestyle Fiberglass Pools. they took our deposit in order to get us on their books. we don't hear from them for 4 months. each time i try to call their office, Madison, their receptionist is the only person who answers. and she doesn't know ANYTHING. she can't tell you when they will start, where the parts are, who to call for info...NOTHING. cherry on top of the cake, she's got a bad attitude!! if you rub her the wrong way, she will tell you to kick rocks and you WILL get hung up on. Brian is the owner and is never available but he apparently was the only one that knew anything about anything. they finally started 4 months later, with 4 days notice. we live in a HOA community, they knew this, and i told them that i needed to know when they are starting so i can get HOA's approval and HOA will not give a blanket approval so they needed a start date. they started construction without HOA's approval. i come home to a hole in my backyard. and all i could do was pray that HOA doesn't fine me for starting a project prior to HOA approval. HOA fined me $500. during construction, they drove a big bobcat-thingy, over my sidewalk onto my lawn, without laying protective barrier for the bobcat to drive over. they cracked the sidewalk, took a big chunk out. i asked them to fix the crack, they said they are not responsible for any damages that they make during construction and that some damage should've been expected for this type of major construction. 1 yr later, CA gets its 1st major rain (NYE 12/31/22). our backyard is flooded, but we don't know why. after much anguish, stress, sleepless nights, we discover they had crushed the drain pipe with the bobcat as they drove it over our lawn with no protective barrier. we paid a landscaper to dig it up and replace the drainage pipe. that cost another $3350. read more

I am just now getting around to writing a review because I knew it was going to take some time and depth based on my experience, but it is definitely something that I do not want to forget and have somebody else experience the same situation. I am a single mother who has spent my adult life obtaining degrees and advancing my career in which I can provide my two daughters a wonderful life. It takes me twice as much for me to earn the same money as a 2 parent household. I only say this because it's relevant to my situation of wanting to not rush and to feel fully confident with my decision/purchase. With this said, $50,000 is not a little amount of money to me, therefore I wanted to make sure that my purchase was exactly what I wanted and not made rashly. I moved into a new home development in which has no backyard built, therefore I knew it's a very pricey investment for my yard ti be completed. I started this project about a 10 months ago so that I could obtain details of what I am looking for exactly and I'm able to make educated decisions from there. I was not set on getting a pool/spa installed, and I was still very much in the preliminary stages when I met with Brian the first time in November 2023. Madison and I had discussed putting in a cocktail pool, which was a small pool that would fit my needs. I told them that I would get back to them after I was able to decide what I wanted to do. With the rainy weather, I decided to sit on my thoughts and desires of what I would like to do with my backyard, and wait out the rainy season before I began again. Between December and March I emailed Madison a few times to discuss details. I picked up my yard remodel again after the rain was done in March 2024. I let Madison know that I was still interested in this cocktail pool and just reiterated any questions. I don't just have a pool to put in but an entire yard to consider, and I needed to ensure everything would work together, so questions should be expected. In April, I experienced severe identity theft resulting in huge amounts of lost funds, and had to put my project on hold for a couple of months while I was able to sort out this nightmare. In August 2024, I tried to get a hold of Brian again so that I could talk to him about questions that I had, in which I wanted to speak the Contractor himself. These were important questions, as my yard is very small and I wanted to make sure the pool would safely fit. I made many requests, easily a dozen to speak with him, in which Madison kept telling me no, and that I haven't made up my mind in this long and they are basically tired of dealing with me at this point. They even commented as far as maybe I can't afford the pool, which is none of their business nor do they have any idea what my finances look like. However, I am not stupid and I'm not willing to jump into a $50,000 investment without being completely satisfied and knowledgeable. I was finally able to get my questions answered after several days of trying, but not easily. Fast forward a week or so, I met with (I think the guys name is) Troy, who is the son of Brian and is in charge of the overseeing the project overall, signing and reviewing contracts. He was very arrogant to be truthful, and I did not get a very not honest vibe from him, however, this is just a feeling I did not have any tangible basis for that feeling, but it did play into my decision to cancel the contract. I could tell they did not like my father (he is my guide and very successful and type A and has been pivotal in my designing of my yard, which is invaluable to me. Because my father is a no bullshit man and is very detail oriented when it comes to contracts and any of this stuff, it was very clear they did not care for him. I was VERY uncomfortable with the nonstop attitude and blatant rudeness really, that my father had received from Troy during our contract signing. Unfortunately, given that this is a family ran business, sadly It sounds like nothing will change on that front. I put a deposit down of $1000 upon signing. Troy told me I could cancel the contract within 72 hours of signing for a full refund, and he emphasized that there would be "no questions asked" and that they "just wanted to see me happy." On the second day, after reviewing yelp, looking at the BBB, and processing the experience, I spoke with another company who worked so hard to get me a comparable quote for gunnite. I sent a certified letter as well as email informing Madison I would be canceling and thanking her for her time. I sent the certified letter to two addresses, because there are 2 conflicting addresses on the contract stating where I was supposed to send the cancellation request to. Pages 12 and 13 of the contract showed major conflicting information, including what would be an acceptable method of cancellation; one page stated the request could be emailed, only to find out that would not have been a legal form, as it needed to be signe read more

Madison & Brian did a great job for us, and I would use them again in a heart beat! Here is why: We've owned a couple homes over the last couple decades, and we have used a few different pool builders each time, once for a "concrete pool for a "reshaping & remodel" (which at least is quicker to get the permit compared to doing a brand new concrete pool) and most recently with Brian & Madison of Lifestyle Fiberglasss Pools to install a reallly great Viking Brand Fiberglass Pool & Spa - see my photos of how nice this one turned out. So, after having done a couple of these big, messy jobs at the house we live at (and watched my friends, neighbors, and family do the same thing as well, with different contractors) I've learned that Pool Constuction is a huge, complicated, messy job. If you've ony done this once, you will probably think it was terrible, no matter who you used, mainly because of all the heavy gear that neeed to come onto and off of your property. You have to plan for this, and set your expectation, for sure. With all pool constuction projects, for instance, the heavy gear and trucks will be driving over some path to and from your back yard for many days and months. Yes, I prayed, with all pool installs I went through, that may lawn would be spared, and the flowers/shrubs/backtop/concrete too, but each time, yes, it was heavily trodden upon, and each time, I was sad I had to repace that area (lawn, backtop, flowers). But now I get it. It's part of the process, so buckle up, sweat pea, if you're gonna pulll the trigger on this serious type of construction :) Out of the folks I've used, Brian & Madison were the best, because: Choosing a fiberglass pool makes the permit process go so MUCH quicker. No engineering was needed, even on my hill slope shown in the picture. So much quicker than a concrete pool which needs serious engineering drawings and reviews. At our previous house we did a concrete pool remodel with a Pebble finish. I will never do a pebble finsish again. (We paid for the "smoothest" version of Pebble, but it still cut our skin and ruined our swim suits each time we swam.) Pebble is best for a pool you look at mostly, not as good for a pool for kids who play hard, etc. But, problem solved... the Fiberglass pool is perfect... smooth, and no one gets hurt now. Also, because it's not porous (like plaster/gunite/conrete pools) we have never had algae, ever! Amazing, really! Pool stays perfectly clean. Our other pool (concrete/gunite/plaster) was green during all those hot summer. (Granted the Pebble did help with that too, once we put that in - better than the plaster finish for sure - the Pebble helped reduce algae.) You'll probably notice that all pool buiders you are reffered too seem to be in demand. (Beware if they don't seem busy at all, in fact. So they will all say "If all goes well, it can take a few as three months", and ours took ony about six months total with Brian & Madison, even in the heart of COVID when so many factories were shut down! That's how quick it can go. The other two New Conrete Pool jobs I've observed took two years each, and cost twice as much as fiberglass in the long run. In fact, that's a good rule of thumb: The concrete pool will take you four times as long as you think, and cost you twice as much as fiberglass. (The fiberglass pool will only take twice as long as you estimate, and cost you exactly what you contract for, which is at least half the cost of the concrete pool.) Also, doing a concrete pool is so loud and dusty. The trucks and plaster gun and sanding etc is so deafeningly loud and messy, and takes many, many days - wow, I don't know if I can live through that process ever again, knowing that I can have a Brian & Madison do another fiberglass pool for me, if I ever move again! One more awesome thing is that the concrete patio came out really great, surrounding the pool - see the pics! These pics are three years later, stil looking great. (I have a neighbor, who did a concrete pool, and he is already having trucks back, one and two years later, to rip out and redo the concrete patio - yikes - zero bueno if that happens to you :) With Brian and Madison, we did a smooth concrete "coping" surround for the pool AND the hot tub, to make it match, and then used a "rough stone" pattern for the rest of the patio to help hide dirt and cracks - came out really nice with think (again see the picture). The fiberglass pool color is the Viking Pool "Ocean Blue" color, and the cement color was the "Sandstone" color which came out great. If you want it more grey, I would use the "Outback" color (that was our second choice). The stock, non colored cement probably looks fine too, but we like it just a little darker to hide dirt. All in all, it came out really great, and we'll use Brian and Madison again, if we ever move or do another house! read more

No answer and then cut off from voicemail. Received a text shortly after (robot text) stating to input what I was calling for. I am very disappointed with this builder. The pool is very nice and Madison is awesome and I really enjoyed her. The owner Brian really disappointed me though. During the construction of the pool they did a lot of unnecessary damage to my home. Most troubling is that they ripped up part of my brand new artificial lawn to run the gas line. They did not tell me they were doing it and after they ripped up part of my new grass they just left it laying there. And worst of all Brian tried to tell me I asked him to do it. I would never have done so. The discussion we had was about adding an extra strip of grass instead of concrete at the end of the pool which I happily said by landscaped would do. My landscaper tried to speak to the workers while they cut out wires and items he built for my irrigation and asked them if they were going g to fix everything back the way it was , including the lawn and they said no. They also tore out a brand new fence and gate that I had around the pool equipment and cost thousands that I planned on re using and they were aware of that yet they still threw it all away. They damaged concrete and several walks on my property as well and Brian said they were not responsible for it. At the end of the whole process I sent Brian a long email about all the damage particularly the lawn and how it was going to cost me a lot of money to put back in the condition it was before they started and he just completely ignored my email, never responding. I think the pool is very nice and I spent a fortune on it yet they refused to fix any of the damage that was done to my yard and knowing this certainly would never hire them again. Wow, I was surprised to read the negative review from another customer. My experience with Lifestyle was nothing but positive. From the first call until the time my toes were in the water, Brian and his team were really professional. When I initially reached out for an on-site quote, he let me know upfront that it was during his busiest season. It took a couple of weeks until we were finally able to coordinate our schedules. I work weird hours, and he was very flexible and accommodating. My biggest concern from the start was that I would not have enough space in my backyard for a pool, but Brian assured me one of their smaller models would work and the results are fabulous! An added bonus--once I committed and got on their schedule, I was swimming within two weeks. Throughout the entire process, the construction team was exceptional. They even stocked my bathroom with toilet paper because I allowed them to use it while they were working on site. I was amazed! We worked with Brian and while he is super busy and in high demand, he has always been responsive and delivered great customer service. We were looking for a very large in ground spa and specifically wanted a Viking Fiberglass model. Brian came out to survey our yard, and in a few short months we had a gorgeous and gigantic spa (it's like a mini pool), which completed our backyard remodel. Brian went above and beyond to ensure the project went smoothly, even going to the city in person to get our permit approved and expedited. He also worked closely with us on the small details such as making sure the concrete border of the spa matched perfectly with our pavers. Great start to customer service. Brian scheduled an appointment between 1:00 and 2 on a Monday. Txted me at 9:45 and asked if he could come early. My response was "yes, let me check". Get a txt from my husband that said "pool guy at the door". It was 10:04. Not only did he show up early, but did not hear from him next day (July 11th, 2018). Do I txted Brian? Finally decided to txt again on July 31st... Just to see the response. Nothing received by end of this message. Terrible!!!! As I had received messages before Brian before came out and coming nightly! Even after appointment, advising how easier of clients we were until the day he came! I reached out just to see what would happen and am disappointed, angry and feel outraged by the lack of respect and acknowledgment these people have. To top it off!!!! All I can keep internally screaming is "lazy,inconsiderate jerks!" I will never use this company! Refer this company or even have a good word to say! Another word of advice!!! Lifestyle installed a new Viking fiberglass pool in March of this year (2019). Brian was upfront and honest with his cost estimates, and gave an accurate picture of the process and result. Brian was also very prompt, easy to get hold of with email and text, and they completed things on schedule, given the necessary delays to the lousy weather this spring. His team knew what they were doing, were on time, and did a great job with prep, installation, and cleanup. We especially happy with the design he worked out with me for the extra concrete and retaining walls...there is more to a pool than just the actual pool. We are very happy with the end result. In the end you will get a good pool and equipment but no thanks to them. I recommend you find someone else if possible. Madison, the administrative assistant is the only one you will have contact with and she knows nothing about the pool or equipment and will give you total wrong information. We paid for a salt water pool and didn't get it until I proved to her we had paid for it. It was promised for Thanksgiving. It was just completed before Valentine's Day with nothing but obstruction and misinformation from Madison. She gave me nothing but misinformation, like our salt water pool required chlorine tablets and no salt. Wrong. She doesn't know anything about the pool or equipment but she is the only contact you will get. Brian, the owner, knows what he is doing but the only person you can contact is Madison.
