Have had multiple rentals from Barefoot and rent for family when they visit. Never had a problem until this weekend. Cart was dropped off as usual. Everything looked great until the end of the first night when my son noticed the grounding pin had been broken off in the charging cable. The first and second night it charged fine. The morning of return pickup we noticed the unit had not totally charged. I made sure meet the rental staff when they picked it up to inform she. She frankly immediately copped an attitude and said she would charge us for the cord and also for not having the unit charged up on pickup. She indicated we should have called immediately when we noticed. Bottom line, I understand both sides, but we were honest and felt like we were accused of lying. I don't care about the extra charges if warranted, but we didn't damage the cord. They provide great carts. My suggestion? Double check everything and pester the crap out of them if anything is not working. They deserve 5 stars, but copped an attitude. We're not all stupid tourists.... read more

I called to inquire about renting paddle boards and within an hour we had three boards delivered to the beach. She was so polite, professional and gave us great tips for how to paddle and carry the boards. It was my second time on a SUPB but my husband's and son's first time. This was exactly what I wanted to do for my birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our rentals and the ease of a drop off and pick up at no extra charge. read more

We had the best time in Mexico Beach thanks to Andrea and the awesome staff at Barefoot Rentals. They delivered 10 women's bikes to our beach house. The best thing was they had 24 inch wheel bikes for the smaller ladies in our group. They delivered timely and picked up timely. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We rode up and down the paved sidewalks of Highway 98 between Mexico Beach and Port Saint Joe. The gulf breeze and view along the highway was so refreshing and our favorite part about Mexico Beach. We rode to breakfast lunch and dinner with the bikes. That's the best way to see the town and enjoy a vacation! read more

Everything was going smoothly and without complaints with the rental until, while we were driving to the beach, we hit a bump on the road we were told we could ride on. When we hit the bump, the window fell out of the grommets holding it up and swung down, slamming it into the lower window and breaking the adhesive holding it up to the hinge. It then fell on the road. When barefoot rentals picked up the golf cart, we weren't there. Some friends of mine who were vacationing with us, explain to the lady what happened. She said, "these windows don't just fall out." I assume she'd call me if she had a concern. I was surprised to see a $200 charge post to my card so I tried calling daily multiple times leaving voicemails twice and couldn't get an answer or call back for four days. We tried stopping at their store to talk with them on the way back home but they have apparently moved and have not updated their address on Google or app Apple Maps. I simply wanted to talk to them and make sure we were on the same page as to what happened before posting a negative review. Barefoot rentals finally called me today, four days later, apologizing for taking so long to reply. I explain the situation, and expressed my frustration, paying for something that broke, while I was complying with their directives. The lady was nice enough, but simply told me that she has a business to run an apologize but she was going to continue with the $200 charge. I told her that was her prerogative, but I was unimpressed at the way she ran her business. I don't feel it's right to charge the customer $200 for an unfortunate circumstance out of the customers control. We will be using a different rental service next time we are down. As a sidenote, we gave them a lot of business while we were down here. Us, and three other families, rented four golf carts for a total of about 15 days cumulatively. My estimation is they made about $1100 on our group alone in less than a week with four golf carts. We also came in a very slow season. It's unfortunate it ended this way. A simple call to hear us out prior to charging us $200 would've been nice if nothing else. read more
