Very helpful. Went there for self bathing my dog and advice about shampoo, his coat and food. Give them a raise!!

This place was recommended to us by the place we are going to for puppy training. They've taken over the place that used to be The Energy Station restaurant, so it's a pretty big place with lots of pet supplies. They also offer grooming and they have self bathing stations were you can bathe your dog. We were there for a no pull halter and the girl who helped us was so friendly and patient with us and took her time ensuring we had the right fit for our Golden Retriever. We also used the opportunity to pick up some treats and toys for our girl and we had a lovely conversation with the owners. Prices are about on par with other local pet stores and they offer a lot of quality foods and products. Would definitely come back! read more

My first time walking in the place, and go in and there's 2 employees. No one greets me. Both are having a personal conversation with 2 other customers while only one is ringing up and the other is drinking her iced coffee. I wander around trying to find what I'm looking for, none asks if I need help or anything. I realize what I need isn't here, or I haven't found it and I go to leave. I have the door open, foot out and that's when one says "excuse me, did you need help.?" Really that's when you ask? Poor service. They obviously didn't care about a new sale. And honestly why is it called a pet store? It should be a dog store because it's 95% dog and about 5% cat items. read more

Such a crap store. Bought a bone for my puppy, brought it home and gave it to her. She dropped it on the floor and it broke in half. Now worthless after 2 minutes I brought it back looking to exchange the defective product. They would not help. Best of luck staying in business with that kind of customer service. 0 Review!! PLEASE don't ever take your dog for grooming to Bark Avenue in Harleysville!! They caused razor burn to My Piper's ears and won't accept responsibility for causing this! They accused Katie of biting her ears.... then they gave me stuff to put on it that was dated 2016, way past expiration. Piper was seen at the vet and by another Local Groomer who confirmed that this is caused by razor burn. They won't even reimburse us for the vet bill, $180 due to their negligence Bark Avenue had nerve to say that the vet bill was too expensive and I should've just bought a cream from them to put on it. No, I took Piper to a professional to be seen. Thankfully since the stuff they gave me was in essence salt water spray and did more harm!! Why can't they just accept responsibility for their action is beyond me. Ban Bark Avenue Grooming!!! read more

Always really enjoy visiting Bark Ave and their quality products. However, we have been a part of the Loyalty program for a few years. Every time we think we have meet the criteria, they either seem to change the # of bags required for a free bag or short us the # of bags we have already purchased. We started tracking our own receipts and confirmed they told us a different quantity from the previous time. It feels dishonest which is disappointing from a small shop. read more

I love Bark Ave. This is a fantastic little pet boutique in Harleysville. They have everything you could possibly need for your pets, including an on-site grooming department. The owners Debbie and Frank are awesome, and really care and love the animals. They make you want to come back and support their business. They're also very resourceful, so if you have an issue or something to discuss, they'll have a product to help you. In my case, they suggested a product that dissolves into a dog's water that helps clean their teeth - who knew?! They have all types of nutritious pet food products, and really only sell the best of the best product lines for optimal pet nutrition. These guys are great to their customers, but most of all, they love the animals so much. read more

What a cozy little store with a warm welcome by all.. It was so nice to be welcomed by the family that owns the store, dogs included. Incredibly sweet woman owner, daughter and father are always helpful with product information and questions. Small quaint little store with great selection of high quality foods, treats, toys and everything in between without breaking the bank...Carmella (?) If you want you beloved pet to have the very best food, treats and toys....go to Bark Ave. My groomer asked what am doing because their coats are so thick and beautiful compared to before I started feeding them Acana from Bark Ave. The difference is remarkable. I never have to throw away uneaten food now. Their Evanger canned food is dog heroin! Wonderful variety of treats and chews and toys - lots of "good for your pet" items. I get grain-free Acana food for my dog here -not available at chain stores! And I've gone to the chain stores - prices are similar for a lot of things and Bark Ave carries a lot the chains don't... Try it! read more

Nice local pet store, with wonderful products and helpful service. I went there searching for my dogs favorite treats (Red Barn--which they have) and to find a solution for my almost two year-old dog's barking. She barks at any noise, from the FedEx man to the neighbors' kids getting off the school bus. I work from home, so this was driving me crazy. I wanted to avoid anything that might hurt my dog. The owner recommended a small red can that makes a hissing noise when you press it--sounds like an old aerosol can. Works like a charm! My dog stopped barking instantly. I have brought my dogs to Bark Ave to be groomed three times now. The first time the cuts were great, but the price they quoted was much lower than what they charged me when I got there to pick the dogs up. I chalked it up to the possibility of my larger dog taking more work than expected maybe, and decided to go back. The second time I only brought the small dog in, and although his cut looked good, I was again over charged. I was told that the person on the phone had "misquoted". The charge was not huge that time, so again, I overlooked it. A day later my dog developed a terrible cough and, at the time, I didn't make a connection. I just brought him in again last weekend, and not only did his cut look terrible and they overcharged me AGAIN, the groomer claimed he kept snapping at her and she cut his tongue with the clippers! Now, this is one of the most gentle dogs I have ever known and he has never even curled a lip at anyone. He lives with three kids and is constantly around people. He is normally very very friendly and I have no idea what went on that he would be snapping at her. Lo and behold, a day later he has developed another terrible case of kennel cough to top it all off! I will never bring my dogs back to Bark Ave. read more
