These guys are great, calm and obviously love dogs and what they are doing. It shows in the care and affection they gave to Bella. I have the same story as many of the reviewers, an older dog (Golden Retriever) who gets totally stressed out getting in the car and going anywhere. I decided it was not worth her being so upset just to get groomed, maybe to a vet for her annuals only. Presto, I found Bark Avenue and read their reviews and their process. It is perfect, Bella loved them and was completely calm. Even my cat loved them, watched the whole thing, and followed Steve and Bella when they went for a short walk. Not a good experience. I explained that this was an elderly dog and that is why we were doing a mobile service vs going to a groomer. He used our exterior hose, did not bring an equipped van. He didn't clean her face and he charged $75. He was here less than 20 mins. We also found fleas on her afterwards which we didn't notice or she didn't have before and which he didn't point out to us. read more

I really wish Yelp would allow us to give a zero rating. Note that this is based only upon customer service because I never had my appointment met. I called yesterday and was told by Jay that he could see my two Bichons at 9am this morning. I said I already had something scheduled for that time so he offered 2pm. Great! So I receive a text from him at 1:05pm saying he is running a little bit behind but will be there today. Today?!?! How about an estimated time? Anyway, at 2:54pm, I send him another text asking if it will be anytime soon because I have other commitments and he texts back that he is almost done. At 3:30pm, I text asking for a hard time of arrival and I get a text saying 4pm. Okay, now it will be 2 hours later than my time. So Jay finally calls and gives me a song and dance how all the dogs he's groomed today have given him a hard time and he basically did me a favor by scheduling me within a day when it is normally several days to get an appt. WTF? Either you have availability or not. He goes on to tell me that I am not the only that has been pushed back and that all his other clients have been inconvenienced. In a normal voice, I calmly said that instead of me having to continually get a status on his arrival time, it would have been a professional courtesy to let me know that he was so far behind so that I could have tended to my other commitments during that time instead of sitting at home waiting for him. That is when he said, "I have listened to you yell at me and I am not comfortable keeping your appointment so I am cancelling." I understand that mishaps happen during a normal business day but if you are so unprofessional to not keep your clients abreast of things when they have other things to do and get pissed when you are called out on it, then perhaps you should pursue another line of work. I'm sure when Jay actually shows up (on time - "cough cough") that he does great work but I will never and do not plan to know. I have never ever given a review like this but I have to say that Jay is an absolute douche. Call someone else for grooming services unless you have all day to wait around for him to show up! read more

Should have known better. I needed a home groomer as my dog just had surgery and was not interested in being around other dogs. Called and left a message, and they never called back. I called again a week later and finally talked to someone who told me to text them the appointment time and date we talked about. Hmm, you can't remember yourself? I guess... Texted the number. No confirmation from the company. Called to confirm the day of, no answer. Appointment time and gone, nothing. A very disappointing experience. read more

The only reason I gave it a 1 star is because you have to give it something. I called during business hours twice stating I needed 2 Australian shepherds bathed and cut and left a call back number. Guess what, you got it no return call. Good luck if you try. read more

So Jay came to my home to meet my dogs, everything good. Called two weeks later to make an appt. 30 min before appt he texted me to let me know he would be late because his partner got into some trouble. Well we waited and waited and I texted him to let him know we could not wait any longer as we needed to eat. So were scheduled for the following Monday. I'm a flight attendant so I'm typically in the air with my phone off and I get a nasty message on Monday saying I wasted his time be cause he can't text me and he's been in my area looking for my home and cannot find it. Mind you he's already been to my home before not my fault he's irresponsible. And he told me that I should take my business to my regular groomer. Wow ok! If you want someone irresponsible in your home grooming your babies he's your guy! read more

The guys with Bark Avenue do an excellent job! They kept me informed of arrival time and did not rush the grooming of 2 heavily molting dogs. The dogs were relaxed and a bit playful as the grooming was done in backyard. After years of self-serve grooming or wasting time driving to groomers, I think home grooming is the best! And Jay and Steven went so far as to rake the yard and sweep the patio of all the stray hair. Their rates are very reasonable given the amount of time and energy. They also offer in-home sitting which I plan to use. Thanks guys for a job well done. read more

I rescued 2 Cocker Spaniels 2 years ago at a run down trailer park. I did my best to make them comfortable at places like PetSmart. Because they were pinned up in a small cage outside, I couldn't get them in a crate at any outside groomer. I was referred to Jay and Steven. They come to my home and do a very very good job as they spend hours to do an amazing job. They treat my Cockers so very well as if they are their own. These guys are quite simply the best I have ever seen. I've been rescuing puppies for over 15 years. Wish I would have know about Bark Avenue Years ago. Moved to Dallas and needed groomers who could come make my babies look beautiful. I can't fit all of them in my car easily so mobile grooming is much easier! Bark avenue blew my mind! My silly pit mix Tara never lets anyone cut her nails. They figured out if you cover her eyes she will let you! I've had this dog 7 years and noone has ever figured that out. This guy knows how to make my little corgi feel comfortable and at home. She doesn't even put up a fuss when he comes to get her from our house(we're local). He can even get her dense fur brushed out so her coat is fluffy and light. read more

I made an appointment and they never showed up! Called night before to confirm appointment - no response. Called several times the day of appointment, again no response. My 17 year old dog requires medicine when in stressful situations, which she would not have had to take if they had followed up with my attempts to contact them. Very disappointed! read more

Wow! Jay and his assistant Kristin are awesome. He does everything on a table in your yard, and you can be there or not. He does NOT do the grooming in a van where you can't see or be there. He cleaned up everything afterward. He schedules an actual appointment (not a time frame), and he does it himself...you know who you get when book with him. He was so loving, and I could not believe how calm and happy our usually-anxious and crazy aussie was during the summer buzz cut (her first time). He offers a complete service (cut, bath, nails, blow out, gland expression, conditioner) for a very fair price...HALF of what the big van-based mobile grooming service charges for just their basic service. When more people learn of him, he will be able to double his price. I called all the luxury groomers and the big-name mobile groomer first, and what he promised was so much better and so much cheaper, I frankly didn't believe him. It sounded too good to be true, but the whole experience was as good as he promised and as good as it gets. DO NOT go anywhere else. Really. read more
