The first and last time my dog will visit this place. I had my dog stay for five nights to include a full bath and groom. Initially it was to me four nights but I extended a night and requested an additional night and asked for his groom to be the last of the day so he'd be nice and fresh when I picked up on Saturday. Apparently, they misunderstood as they called me to pick him up on the 4th day saying he was groomed and ready. I told them that I spoke with someone the previous day extending his stay and asked him to be bathed and groomed end of day. I ended up picking him up on a Saturday to which I didn't know they give you certain one hour windows for pickup. It would've been nice to know this upfront. Whatever clippers or shampoo they used has caused major irritation to my dogs skin. I asked for a call back from the owner and it was never received. This has never happened even at Petsmart or Petco. Just beware pet parents. :( read more

No other groomer has ever misunderstood. The one that didn't understand was your groomer. I get my doodle groomed every 6 - 8 weeks; so no, he wasn't matted nor has he ever been matted. Brittney's Bark and Stay is the only place I trust with my pup's grooming needs. I take my terrier, Rocky, there for his bath plus all the add-ons. We typically add nail trimming, deshedding, coat conditioning, and brushing teeth. Brittney's prices are very reasonable and any extra service you request will only be a few more dollars. They are quick to answer the phone and scheduling is easy. Many times they got my pup in for his bath the same day. Other times we were scheduled for the following day. Each time I've picked up Rocky after his beauty treatments, he looked relaxed and was wagging his tail as he was brought out to reception by the groomer. I came here about a month ago inquiring about grooming for our puppy. This was our first time getting our dog groomed so I had so many questions. A few days later I call to make an appointment and Amber was booked about two weeks out. Today, we took our dog in for his appointment. We got the earliest appointment, 8am. The girl that opened the door for us was a few minutes late. She was very apologetic to me and another lady that was also waiting. The girl asked how I would like the cut. I told her whatever would look cute only because I wasn't sure how a dog is supposed to be cut. She recommended a trim or a half cut only because it was his first time. I decided on the half cut just to see how our dog will look with less hair. Our dog was very comfortable when we handed him over. We didn't hear him whine and he didn't look scared at all. Knowing that it was his first time I knew it was going to take a while. I told them to take their time and I wasn't in a rush. They called me at 1:11pm (5 hours as expected, they did give me an estimated time 4-5 hours). I asked how long I have until I have to come get pick him up. They said they give us an hour after they call and tell us our pet is ready. When I picked up our dog, he looked so cute. We didn't even recognize him because he was cleaned up very well. Amber came out and explained to me that the first cut will be more expensive than the next (which I was told when I inquired in the first place) also it took longer than normal because our dog was so curious at everything she was doing. I am so happy we decided to take our dog here. Amber and staff were very nice and I feel that they took really good care of our dog. I loved the little bandana they put on him. Only took my kids there once since my other groomer moved out of state. I have a tough time finding groomers and petsitters because its hard to trust them with just anyone. Great service, friendly folks, and they did a great job, although I dont know who groomed them. Prices were comparable to other groomers in the area. Only con: had a VERY hard time getting someone to get back to me either by phone or text. Brittney's Bark Avenue is located in a corner of a Savemart shopping center. Not located in the best of areas - there were 2 homeless folks laying in front of the store when I got there. Pet stores had just become deemed "essential businesses" here in Fresno two weeks ago. I've been desperate to get haircuts for my dogs and I only had to wait a week (vs 2 months) to get them groomed at Brittney's. I walked in, was asked how I wanted my dogs cut and the length at which I wanted them cut. I said I wanted teddy bear cuts and wanted the length at half of which it was at (which would have been about half an inch). When I came in to get them, I was thoroughly disappointed to see that both of them had been SHAVED down, and were UNEVENLY SHAVEN. Also, they came back ITCHING and my Maltese was still covered in eye boogies. Not worth the $110 I spent. We've had MUCH better haircuts and service at PetSmart. read more

This is my 3rd time going to Brittney's. I've been fairly happy with the grooming of my dog. However, our third visit I booked an appointment for 10am. I had assumed that it would only take a couple of hours for my two dogs to get groomed. However, they still were not done grooming my dog until 3:50 (10 minutes before closing). I think it's a bit ridiculous that they would have me bring my dogs in 5 hours before they are actually getting groomed. Brittney's needs to do a better job with their booking system. Book dogs for the actual time they will receive the service rather than having them sit in a crate for HOURS. It's not only an inconvenience for the dogs, but an inconvenience for my schedule not knowing when they will be done. read more

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my moms fur babies today. They have been severely neglected for a while due to my mom growing elderly and has grown unable to care for Mr. Gizmo Tank Ploppers and Mz. Kiki Shepard on her own. They had huge matts all over their body, over grown nails and just looked horrible! I'm embarrassed to post a before picture out of shame because the dogs didn't deserve the torture they were enduring for so long! I didn't think a miracle was possible until I yelped this place and was able to get them in with such a short notice. It was definitely an emergency situation as I'm sure they were in pain dealing with the condition they were in. I'm truly grateful to the handlers and groomers at Brittney's Park Ave. Mr. Ploppers and Mz. Kiki are once again able to rest comfortably without the pain and torture they were once living in. They cut my baby's nails too short and made him bleed. Almost all of his nails are like this. I would understand maybe one nail or two on accident, but almost all his nails are like this on each paw!! I don't understand how they couldn't see the blood or see that he was in pain. If you cut his vein too much he could've been seriously injured. Never had a problem here until this happened yesterday. Very mad and unhappy that they hurt my baby. I looked at numerous Yelp reviews before choosing a place to take my new rescue dog, Snow, to be groomed. I called one place and was told they didn't have availability until January. On Wednesday, I called Brittany's Bark Avenue. I explained that I had only had my dog for a couple weeks and was not experienced with long-haired dogs. He had one bad mat behind his ear from when we got him. The person I spoke with said we could bring him in today (Saturday) at 8. When we brought Snow in, they were welcoming and polite. They were also very patient with my lack of knowledge. My husband and I warned that Snow is still pretty skittish and does snap if we try to check his paws for thorns or such. We picked Snow up at 11:30 and he looked great. They got the mat behind his ear and cleaned up his coat and paws. While a couple areas were not addressed, they explained that he did really struggle and that it will take time to get him more comfortable, which we completely understand. The charge for the visit was under $50 when I was expecting it to be close to $100, especially for how scared and snapping our boy probably was. (We would have probably waited a bit longer for his first grooming if it wasn't for the bad mat!) I highly recommend Brittany's Bark Avenue and will be taking Snow for future visits! read more

I took my dog, Olive, to be groomed and bathed. I also requested to have her teeth brushed. She is an older dog and is often panicky when anyone attempts to groom her, and that is why I was putting it off for so long. However, the staff at Brittney's Bark Avenue got the job done just right. Olive had some matted fur that needed to be removed, and they did an excellent job cleaning her up, all while keeping her fluffiness that I love. The customer service was decent. My only minor complaint is that her nails were still somewhat sharp after they were cut. Perhaps her nails were not buffed, or she was too anxious throughout the process. On another note, I was able to pick her up three hours after the scheduled appointment time. I would consider bringing my fur baby back here to keep her looking beautiful! read more

My wife and I went here after we decided our puppy Frank needed to shed some of his long hair. We hadn't done a doggy haircut before so we weren't really sure what to expect. I'll start off by saying that our dog is a little rambunctious and has a hard time sitting still even if we are just trying to comb him. I used to be able to cut his nails myself but lately he just wasn't having it and I couldn't even get through one paw. This place was great! Brought my Maltese Shih Tzu for his first haircut and wash and was extremely pleased! Lydia did a great job by making my dirty pup clean and did not make any drastic changes to him. Hello So today was my third time visiting Britney's doggie daycare where I was dropping off my dog. He was very excited to go in, he went to one of the girls behind the desk and sniffed around. she was very friendly; my dog didn't show any aggressive behavior Marian. While she was registering him and employee by the name of Maxine came out and Marian told her that he was here for a day care drop of, they recommended I take his vest off so they can use their own leash. when I looked at the Leisure right away, I knew that was not safe because it's a sliding Style to me it looks very dangerous because there's no control around the neck, and it could easily choke my dog. Maxine takes my dog back in within like less than a minute she comes back and said I cannot keep him because his biting. I said right way to her maybe you yanked it and felt that you were choking him around his neck where he probably felt like you and, in his defense, he probably was trying to like to tell you that he didn't like it. I was trying to explain you earlier that he doesn't like his vest to be removed for that same reason. Without listening she refused my service I asked Mary Ann if I can talk to the owner she said I'm sorry I cannot give her personal information out which I did not ask for I said how do I contact the manager she said hold on and give the phone to Maxine., Maxine said why do you need to talk to her you can talk to me basically they're not telling the truth to the owner and making decisions on their own so she kept saying you did not apologize when your dog was trying to bite me and I tried to explain her saying that that is a sensitive area .She right away in her defense tries to give her example of what if I give you my dog tries to bite you would you like it and I said well if you touch anybody's neck area weather to human or dog they wouldn't like it and she said well he's a dog and I said well still you have to treat them with care so basically she is not very kind with dogs. I kept saying weather its animal or human you have to be gentle when it come to their neck area, she said Well a dog "I ask her what that means" according to her animals and dogs are different and don't require care. I told her if it is human or dog if you touch their neck area they will jump And when it comes to animal they are more sensitive because they feel threatened so basically she's not very trained dog sitter and I would not recommend taking your dog to this place because if she's there I would feel threatened to put my dog as she showed aggressive behavior towards me while she was complaining of my dog showing aggressive behavior so I just wanted to give a review for a people out there that it's not the animal but the people who are aggressive towards the animal most of the time the animals and Britney needs to maybe do another training of if the dogs are used to a certain employee maybe they need to come and assist them because it takes a while for even a baby or a toddler or a dog or an adult even to get used to a new person so keeping that in mind I think Britney is to really think about this individual because Seems like Maxine is trying to hide a lot of information from the owner with the fear of maybe losing her job who knows because she was saying why do you need to contact her I felt like I was being attacked and put on pressure of don't contact Brittany and when I said I'm going to put a Yelp review she said go ahead and do whatever you want to so I'm just doing what Maxine has suggested is put a Yelp review and she refused to give me information of how to contact the owner I did tell her saying I want to talk to the owner that way I don't have to put a negative review on Yelp so negative reviews puts business down ,she said it's okay just go ahead and do what you have to do on Yelp so I'm doing as I was told. read more

I have been searching for a go-to groomer to take my little Ella, she's shy around strangers, needs frequent grooming due her hair being easily matted and I have a Monday- Friday, 8am-4pm schedule, so finding a groomer that's open on a Saturday is a plus! We were greeted right away by a friendly young lady, she made sure to introduce herself and befriend my dog, versus putting her on a lead which unfortunately has happened to Ella at other groomers.
