I wish I didn't have to leave this review, but after a dismissive and frankly, quite rude phone call with the owner, Suzie, I feel compelled to share our experience. We've been customers for the past two years with multiple dogs groomed here, but this last visit was deeply disappointing. All four dogs came back with mediocre grooms. The groomer showed little regard for our reasonable requests--like leaving the eyelashes longer or keeping the face rounded and fluffy--and instead did what she wanted, regardless of what we asked. Our puppy's groom was especially disappointing. While we understand the importance of a "gentle" first experience, the result felt more like a rough draft than a professional service. The excuse--"it's his first groom, so I'll do what I can"--felt like a way to justify a lack of effort, not a thoughtful approach to care. If you're only delivering a fraction of the service, then pricing should reflect that. See the photos attached. We've had first-time puppy grooms here before here with Kyle & Lisa with no issues or excuses. Unfortunately, this experience didn't meet the standard we've come to expect. Even more disappointing was the owner's inability to receive customer feedback with professionalism or openness. A resistance to constructive criticism is not only frustrating--it's ultimately unsustainable for any service-based business. read more

This is the only grooming service we will use in Denver. Perfect for dogs who are anxious and don't like to be crated at a facility for hours. The team is professional and efficient, the service is quick and convenient. We've been very pleased with every single cut. When we used to take our dog to a facility, he would come home visibly upset and it would take him some time to shake the nervousness. When he finishes a groom with Suzie SoftPaws, he comes back happy, tail wagging. This shows us they are gentle and patient with him. They know how to handle nervous pups. We have three fur babies, Scarlett (10 year old Yorkie), Piper (2 year old Cavapoo), and Finnegan (1 year old Cavapoo). They are all terrific dogs but the two Cavapoo's have pretty bad separation anxiety so it's hard for us to leave and trust them with just anyone. This was our first grooming for the Cavapoo's and our first time at Softpaws so we were anxious ourselves but the folks at Softpaws were incredible! Suzie met us at the door and helped to calm down the Cavapoo's who could sense something was off. This would be the first time mom and/or dad would not be with them. Again, Suzie took the time to get to know them, petting, reassuring, and not immediately leashing and corralling like we've seen other groomers do. She let them do their sniffing, and inspecting and get comfortable with her and the shop. She even let all three share a room rather than put them in separate kennels. Susie kept us informed on their progress and behavior through text messages throughout their appointments. When they were ready to be picked up Susie helped us get them to the car and was dry kind, gentle, and reassuring the entire time. The services she and Softpaws provided were exceptional! All three of our dogs looked amazing and their coats were super shiny and soft. Softpaws will be our new go-to grooming service for sure! read more

Amy just finished up with Stella and we are very happy with the service. We just recently moved to Denver and Stella has been loving the outdoors. With all of her play, she for sure needed a good cleaning and Amy came to the rescue doing a great job grooming our little girl. Amy was on time, very communicative and was very kind to Stella. She recognized that Stella might not have liked the air dryer or her nails clipped and took an extra ten minutes to just let Stella relax a little. Soft Paws was recommended by a friend who uses the mobile unit. i had difficulty finding groomers who worked well with golden doodles as my dood's skin matched his skin and would come back with multiple knicks and bleeding. Eva came out twice had 2 great experiences and my dog looked amazing. Unfortunately, Eva is leaving the salon and I can undeeratand why after my experience with Suzie Blackshell, the owner. on 9/6 I brought my dog and a 6 month old whoodle puppy for his 1st puppy grooming. Regardless of the groomer I expected similar results and what I experienced was a nightmare! i received a rude and aggressive call from Suzie 2 hours after I dropped the dog off about plucking. I had explained that it needed to be done in pieces. I txted and stated I needed to pick them up as I had somewhere to be. When I came in I heard my dog wailing in a way I've never heard him. He is sweet tempered and quiet. I had to ask for it to stop and it was Suzie who was doing it. The dog was shaken and fearful, they didn't have their collars on or leashes and the grooming job looked like someone got angry and sheared them like sheep. She even made a remark about my puppy looking odd and funny looking. My doodle's tail was gone and sheared the entire tail down to the skin. Add insult to injury, Suzie added extra charges including a small curly dog for the puppy who has straight hair. $420 total. She also said I should have my dogs groomed every 6 weeks, which is a great business model for her. It had been 8.5 weeks since the last grooming. Her energy was hostile and angry, not someone who cares about animals. The next day fluid was seeping from skin on his ears and licking a paw and began limping. I txted about the symptoms and the front desk staff said Suzie wasn't available. Suzie called wothout leaving a msg. That is the last communication I had. I paid $279 for a vet visit, who said the paw pad on his foot had been sheared and was injured but not cut. She also noted the very poor grooming job and wanted to know the name of the salon. luckily, there wasn't any ear drum damage or bleeding in the ear canal but confirmed they stirred up inflammation bc of the ear plucking technique. I submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint on 9/12 which was sent to the business 9/17 and she has yet to respond. PET GROOMERS need to be licensed, as I discovered there is no state certification. What I should have done was call Parker Police and file a charge of animal abuse. read more

After been stood up by another mobile service one too many times we made the leap over to Suzie SoftPaws earlier this year and I'm so glad that we did. Kyle is our groomer and he is fantastic with our animals. We have a senior dog with special needs and Kyle is always kind and accomodating with her. She always comes back in the house with a pep in her step! So refreshing to see! We also have a puppy who gets into everything and is always super dirty but he once back in our home he has that glorious puppy smell back. Kyle is also almost always early or on time, something we always appreciate, he's also incredibly efficient and fast. As a busy mom i love that i can get things done while my dogs are getting primped but that i don't have to be stuck waiting for them to be finished.
