The $4 wood bundles were rather sparse, but two bundles sufficed per night for bonfire. Each primitive campsite for tents had a fire ring and picnic table. The sites were rather close together, separated by only a few trees and bushes. We hoped for a few good spots to set up hammocks, but only one set of trees was fitting for an ill-hung hammock. The pit toilet outhouses were outfitted with lights, hand sanitizer, and air fresheners, and so were better than many dirty typical outhouses elsewhere. Appreciated the no-need-to-check-in approach by the proprietors. RV spots available around the corner from primitive campsites. For $15 per night, this is a fair deal, but not necessarily a good set of accommodations for car campers who want a few of the added benefits of showers and more campsite privacy.

I've kayaked AK, HI and the San Juans (WA) and this was the best! It's a very short bus ride to Meyers Beach so you don't waste a lot of time getting on the water. As a side note, I later learned from another type of boat tour on Madeline Island that there are a few pretenders in the kayak tour business but Lost Creek is considered by locals to be one of the best!!

We enjoyed our visit, the food was excellent and our server was attentive and pleasant. I tried the Friday evening special - Deep Fried Whitefish with sugar snap peas - I am typically not a "whitefish" person but this was well prepared and was excellent - The pea pods were delicious. You'll enjoy some great views of Buskey Bay and the Pike Chain of lakes from your table. Enjoy your visit, we sure did.

When we called to make sure they were still open, Kevin (the owner) said if we were definitely going there he would definitely keep the kitchen open for us so that we could get something to eat. The waiter was very courteous and attentive. The clientele was chill and mellow. Casual, not pretentious or snobby. Laid back. Kevin (the Owner) was a delight. I didn't even know he was the owner until we were leaving. I had assumed he was just a friendly bartender. He was tending the bar and kept giving us great tips on where to go and what to do by The Great Lakes area. He showed us books and maps and welcomed everyone into the bar. My only complaint is, I wish there was a place like this in NYC so I could drop by more frequently. But, alas, I'll have to come to Iron River, Wisconsin again to say hi to Kevin and everyone at The Spot Supper Club. Until then, I'll have great memories.

It looked like a perfect combination of rustic and classy, and totally relaxing. We only stayed here for one night, but it was a great night. The inn keepers are very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. Our room was small, but sufficient, with a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the lake. There is not much to do in the town of Cornucopia, which is about 20 minutes from Bayfield, but there are a few nice hikes near the B&B, or you can just relax on your balcony. I would recommend stopping by Siskiwit Falls, which is very close to the B&B. Bruce and Sandy serve breakfast at 8:30 am. Everything is homemade using local ingredients. On the day we were there, they served a quiche with sausage and wild rice, apple spic muffins and fruit. One thing to know, they do not accept credit cards! Make sure you have enough cash or your check book to pay for your room.

We had planned on going to Michigan for a day trip, but with the terrible storm damage and wash outs - decided to change our plans. Let me just say our Sea Cave trip with captain Mike could not have been any better! We had such a great time. The boat was so fun and fast. The lake and caves were great. And Mike was very personable and knowledgeable. Also, their gift shop is very nice too. I highly recommend. And the only thing I'm disappointed about, is the fact that we didn't discover them sooner. Out of one window we watched the waves of Lake Superior and out of the other the sailboats moored in the Siskiwit River, a trout stream. Each morning, the owner/hostess brings a lovely breakfast in a basket for you to eat in your room. The $140 (incl. tax) seems a bit steep, but the setting and the breakfast are definite pluses. And the closest town, Bayfield (about 30 minutes away) has simiar prices as well as substantially higher ones (e.g., The Rittenhouse Inn). It's a great location for hiking, birdwatching, otter spotting (we saw one) and bear and Northern Lights glimpsing (which we didn't see). Duluth is about 70 miles Northwest and the Red Cliff Reservation (Ojibwe) with a casino is about 20 minutes away. The TV does not have cable. There is a refrigerator in the room.
