This RV park is 10 minutes from downtown Bayfield making it very convenient. Staff is friendly…read more They have done a wonderful job with the bathrooms and grounds, specifically the new side of the park. Some RV spots on that side of camp have peekaboo views of Lake Superior. The office has an ice cream shop, swag and a few supplies. We stayed on the older side of the park and it could use some TLC. The RV pads are in bad shape. Took two tries to auto level the camper because I could not get the front of the camper low enough. The pad was narrow and peaked, I had to dig into the side of the pad to get our landing gear on a flat surface. We were at the lowest site on that side of the park, so there was significant wash out before this week's heavy rain. The washout made the site uneven and there was no place to set a chair or the provided picnic table on a flat location to sit, lounge or eat. We really appreciated the park reaching out about heavy rains and their effect on the park that week. Tree trimming is a must. I know privacy can be important, but a balance between over growth and tidiness needs to be found. We couldn't use our awning properly to cook in the rain. There are trees with many dead heads that needed to be addressed. No one wants a damaged roof or camper when branches fall. All in all this was a nice place to stay and if we're in the area we would stay here again.

The campground was big- a few different areas- we were only able to snag a spot that seemed weird…read moreabove the office and right on the road for the week leading up to, and including July 4 weekend. Turns out it was an awesome spot - up on a hill, a tree or two, but the lack of trees kept us mercifully out of mega-insect territory. The front office was delightful and accommodating. My only "complaint" was that they only had one washer and dryer. Honestly it wasn't a deal breaker at all. Bayfield is a gorgeous little village and the campground made it affordable and super easy to explore. Highly recommend!!

We love to tent up in the north shore during fall colors season. We aren't great at planning ahead…read moreso we scramble to find a campground.t he state parks are always booked months in advance, so it's the small private campgrounds in the area we enjoy. This one is sitting right on the lax lake. Every campsite will have some sort of view of the lake with some trees but it is not heavily wooded. You can see your neighbor but you're not packed in their like some campsites without any trees. Each campsite had plenty of space with a picnic table and a fire pit. I was a little disappointed in the one car rule because there was so much space to fit two cars and two tents at one campsite. It seems more of a family oriented campground that would be great for kids. We don't have any, so the kids got a little annoying for us. Especially when they are playing and yelling outside at seven in the morning. The bathrooms and quarter operated showers are well kept, clean and aren't far from any of the tent sites. The office is adorable and has a decent selection of snacks and camping things, like fire firewood, if you forget anything. You can also rent kayaks and pontoons for the lake. I felt that the tent sites were a little on the higher side for a campground but understandably so being on a lake with full bathroom, showers and laundry.

The shower house was clean and 5 minutes is just the right amount of time for a hot shower! it's only 25 cents! Close enough to the activity of the north shore but far enough away to relax! Great location on Lake Superior. Your experience depends on…read morewhat site you have and what you are comfortable with. I know you can say that about all campgrounds, BUT this one has sites that are really packed close together with water access and others that are in a field across the road from the beach... neither is ideal in our mind. There is a highway close by like all the reviews mention. It wasn't loud from our site, but when we walked the campground it was loud in other parts. We did take note on what sites we would stay in if we went again. I would tell you but then we'd never be able to book them. This is a busy place that is hard to get into even for the not so great sites... That being said, there wasn't people noise. Everyone was quiet and respectful. Fun activities nearby: Hiked to town on the trail to visit the lighthouse. Rented a kayak at the beach and paddled to the lighthouse. Dog swam and froze to death in the lake... Lots of rocks to pick. Everyone is agate searching.
