We've been boarding our Rudy here for over a year, but we are going to have to find a new place…read more The set-up is good, actually, with individual spaces with indoor and outdoor parts. The facility is clean and well-maintained. The prices are fair as well. Rudy seemed okay except for smelling kind of bad when we get him home too. Because of this, we bore with the attitude of the kennel owner/ operator, Bernie. He has always had this way of making us feel we are bugging him whenever we talk to him. Mind you, we're not the type to call in to check on our dog constantly while we are away. In fact, we've never done that at all. We have a very well-behaved, low maintenance dog. The thing we do though is occasionally forget his complex hours of operation. We leave our dog 2-3x/ year so it really is not something we have committed to memory. He also neither have his hours on his card (which we have on the ref constantly nor does he have it on his webpage) At any rate, we always called ahead of time to make reservations or when we end up coming back early and want to claim our dog sooner. This last time was last week. We back a day early. We called up from the road that morning asking if we could pick Rudy up later that day at around 1 pm. He was all huffy about our proposed time of of pick-up does not work with his hours. We immediately apologized and said it was fine, we will pick him up at 5 pm instead. Mind you, this was not a back and forth conversation where we insisted on the time we wanted. We just said it once, and like any sane person would have done, he could have just reminded us about his hours without the attitude. Pick up time comes, my husband got there and was then attacked by bad-mood Bernie immediately. He pointed to the 48 hour cancellation notice in the wall and told him he was lucky he is not charging him the extra day. My husband was ready to apologize and pay for the extra day anyway, but Bernie just went on and on about our "mistakes". At any rate, my husband gave him some choice words about his poor attitude as a business owner, paid him in full, IN CASH, like we always do, and took our Rudy home. At home, I immediately noted how emaciated our dog looked. Sure enough, he went down from his usual vet recommended weight of 17 lbs to a little less than 15 - in 10 days! He has lost a lot of chest and leg muscles and was shivering even in our warm house. It has been horribly cold the past week, I am willing to bet that the heat was not turned on so that Rudy had to shiver away some two lbs to keep warm. We will never go back to this place EVER!

Henni is a bit older, so he needs some quiet time as well as space to play. The set up at B&B is great, it has space to play indoors and outside, as well as separate space for downtime when needed. It is great to have a place and people you trust, it really puts our minds at ease when we can't take our dog with us.

Apparently they had an aggressive baegle at one point and his words were they are noisy. Breed discrimination at its finest. Stay away from this place they dint seem dog friendly maybe they should look into starting up a different business!

I didn't want to trek all the way to my other place I go. So I called ahead they were awesome from beginning to end. Friendly sweet and courteous making my furry baby's time there comfortable, well as comfortable as possible for a Chihuahua. Lol. It was the most pleasant experience I've ever had. Now I have a go to place for my dogs nails. Also very afforadable. Can't wait to go back. Great awesome customer service the girls tried to make my baby feel good. He was so happy when he came out. They offer so many other services at affordable prices and day care and overnight.

I have been going to Dr. H for approx 13 years now. My animals absolutely love him…read more It started when I had ferrets and nobody would see exotics except for him. I eventually transferred my cats to him from other area hospitals. My cats of all come from my porch as converted TNR cats. His ability to handle semi wild (in process of converting) cats is amazing. All of my babies love him and when they came home after seeing him, they were calmer. Heck, one of them is always boarded because she is epileptic and my normal sitter doesn't pill pop. She is always so happy to go there (like a vacation) and was nothing like she was at home with them! Now though, she sits in my lap I can pick her up I can give her kisses which I never could before Monroe Animal Hospital! The staff has been nothing but amazing. They're always so courteous and so helpful. There are too many names to list but I will say that the front end staff who answers the phone are always so pleasant. Deirdre is one of a few that answer the phone regularly (not to skip the others that cover her- they're great too). She always answers the phone addressing me by name, she asks me how everybody is doing. You can tell that she's compassionate when you're upset about the health of your animal. It's a very busy office but they have always tried to do their best to squeeze people in when they could and they feel terrible when they're not able to. When I have a semi emergency and it's during office hours I call MAH but if they can't get me in I go to Northstar. (I heard there's another animal hospital for emergencies that's right nearby that I'm going to be checking out for when I can't get squeezed in.). They're quite accommodating if I have to cancel an appt too. Most recently my husband rescued an industrial warehouse cat, and when I priced out six different veterinary offices for a full vetting- like snap tests, stool sample, bloodwork, neutering, etc., Dr. H was the cheapest of everybody- which shocked me too- and I'm talking by hundreds of dollars! Today Dr. H saw that industrial cat that we named Loki. Loki was not happy to be at the vet but through the calming voice of the staff and Dr. H working very quickly, he was able to get the bloodwork he needed to test him so I knew Loki was safe to be in my house with my other cats. Anyway as the staff can tell you, I can go on forever :-)
