Care at the Surgical Center was well above and beyond in their tasks. The receptionist was very very good in explaining the sign in process. The Eyeglass Staff was also very good, and the ordering of new glasses going from 20/80 to 20/25 and I enjoyed speaking with the young lady ... J

Dr. Aker is sooo sweet!…read more Had my first eye appt in over 2-3 years. Dr. Aker is so nice. I can see why when asked around who do people trust their eyes with they say Dr. Aker. We talked a bit and even dropped some recs of things to do and where to eat because I'm new to FL. What a sweet sweet man. Facility I went to was near Sunrise Bakery. His downstairs facility is the area where you try on glasses and fittings and stuff. Take the elevator up to the actual office where the exams and stuff are at. His staff seemed nice. Check in was a breeze as I did complete new patient paperwork prior to the visit. I felt the Dr did spend a good amount of time with me and addressed my concerns.

Surgery was performed at their surgical center which IS COVERED by some Medicare plans (like mine, which I pay dearly for!) but the billing department refuses to send Medicare the information so you can recoup the payment for the surgical center they make you pay before the surgery upfront! I have called Medicare... I have written to Medicare... they have clearly told me that YES it is covered under my plans BUT the drs office needs to send them the BILL!!!! Or I need to jump through hoops (wasting my time since January to get my money back), I should say MORE HOOPS!!! I am clearly never doing this again! Sorry Dr. Nick but this reflects on you since I can not positively recommend you without explaining the lack of Medicare billing knowledge.... I asked the billing manager to call Medicare and get the correct billing codes... she apparently did not bother. Just keeps repeating "some Medicare plans don't pay for surgical centers".... Mine does!!!

They walked me right through the surgery. They explained everything before doing it right up until the Anastasia took affect. This doctor is absurd and ultimately should lose her license for having her patients wait in an…read moreoffice that is completely unattended by any medical professionals throughout the day. The location itself is unsanitary and poorly kept. The only staff member, Dawn is unfriendly, likely due to having to deal with irate patients, because this doctor has her booking appointments for which she is never going to be on time for. I arrived early for my 4:30pm appointment and waited patiently while Dawn checked in another patient. I was eventually taken to a series of rooms to check weight and answer medical questions (by Dawn) and was left with the door open in room number two. After viewing the deplorable surroundings, I decided it might be best check reviews to find answers... My findings suggested a bunch of fake reviews that covered up a trend of bad ones, which ultimately were true. An absent doctor, that made patients consistently wait for even the most basic of care. I finally walked back to the front desk and asked Dawn if there was a doctor present. "Not yet", she replied, which is all I needed to hear going on an hour and half later. I WILL be writing to the FL state medical board, among other entities regarding this doctor's behavior. Shame on Dr. Miley. This is bad practice as any professional, let alone a medical one.

I'm so relieved just thinking that I have more treatment options.
