I needed to pick up some books to read to fill some of my summer time. I was planning on just going on Amazon, but when in the area I decided to just stop off at this Barnes & Noble. This location has all the new hot books including Kevin Hart's new autobiography, Elizabeth Warren's new book and many more. The books I was looking for I read about on the internet, but I was having trouble finding them in the store. Eventually, I decided to ask a staff member. Even though the books I were looking for were not super popular, he knew exactly where they were. This Barnes and Noble actually doesn't have a cafe, but a Starbucks and a Panera are located in the same shopping center. read more

I love to go here! It is not just because I love books or that I love bookstores... okay, maybe those are the two reasons. This place has a nice and calm atmosphere. You will never feel like you are at a public library where kids run up and down the aisles shouting constantly and the staff act like they can't do anything about it. It is serene and you are free to browse and read to your leisure. I miss seeing a lot of places like these so as a hope I try to support this location every chance I get. People might not like the prices here but if you join their club by making a payment and receiving a card every book you buy will be at a discount! Barnes & Noble is great and I hope this one will stay as long as books exist. read more

I am a voracious reader and this used to be my go to place. Years ago I deserted them and began ordering all my reading material from Amazon. I'll bet I haven't set foot in this store for three or four years! Yesterday I stopped in and was reminded or why I liked it. It was bright and clean and bustling with shoppers. An overall great atmosphere. I easily found what I needed and they have always been nicely organized. It's a snap to spot the best sellers. The magazine selection is huge. Ditto the travel section. They have a habit of discounting lots of materials so to me the pricing is nice. When it's time to leave they have multiple cash registers so the checkout lines stay manageable. Customer service was great. I don't know what the future holds for brick and mortar book stores but this is a very nice one. read more

Cozy, perhaps even crowded store in the midst of suburbia West of Philly. For starters, the strip mall has every conceivable store available, from Home Depot, to Starbucks, to the liquor store, to a book store. B&N lends a place respectability and culture, which otherwise it would be just another strip mall. The store is very well stocked with the latest best sellers, a killer travel section and a respectable LGBT section, among others. With the advent of electronic readers, there has been a proliferation of Nooks and other electronic gadgets and B&N is no exception. Just about every conceivable Nook selection and variety is there. Shout out to BRIAN (Store Mgr) at Broomal PA. Came in to find Halloween book and book for 1st day of PreK. He was so helpful. Halloween books weren't even out yet but he went out of his way to go in back and grab a few choices for her to pick from. THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! There a TONS of reading material available!!! I was a bit overwhelmed at first but the staff were sweet año ugh to help me find what I was looking for & more. With the amount of material there, it was kept orderly & clean. There's even a section for kids in the back. I believe they also have activities for them as I saw a staff member working with a child. I didn't spend a lot which is always cool. The sale items were abundant & I had to pull myself away before I maxed out my credit card. Lol. I love bookstores but I am really not a fan of Barnes & Noble. It is a shame that borders closed. At borders, the membership was free, at barnes & noble, it's something like $30 a year. Also at borders you could use the computers to look up where a specific book was in the store, at barnes & noble you have to get an employee to look it up for you on the computer which is annoying. When I came here recently, I was looking for something specific, and couldn't find anyone to help me. All the employees were busy, and I left without finding what I needed. I'll stick with amazon or local bookstores. read more

The Barnes & Noble in the Lawerence Park Shopping Center is a little bit smaller than others in the area. I'm used to going to the one in Uwchlan. There is no cafe or exceptionally large children's area, as others have said. However, it is truly a lovely little store. There is no shortage of books or friendly, helpful staff members. Most of them are willing to chat with you and have interesting things to say. I haven't always bought something on every trip but I do frequent this establishment regularly. It's a good place to take a walk around and think if nothing else. Definitely stop by when in the Springfield-Broomall area! read more

I like Barnes and Noble. My love affair started when my mother took me to the flagship store in NYC many years ago. This store and the one in Cherry Hill often have books i don't want to wait to get from amazon or some other online outlet. I like that you can go to bn.com, see if a Barnes and Noble near you has the book, and have them put it aside for you to pick it up, usually in less than and hour. I still do my browsing but I know I will leave with something good to read. read more

Serviceable and worth supporting. There are very few physical bookstores left as most have shuttered. It has an in-store Starbucks where you can sit and surf the internet for free and enjoy a latte (usually properly made). Decent toy section for children's gifts and a sizeable stock of varied boardgames (probably can't find something like this anywhere in a brick a mortar store). Prices for books can be somewhat comparable to online for most items if you have a B&N card. read more

I love going to this book store, browsing the different isles , getting caught up in books I didn't plan on buying but purchasing because this girl loves to read! Well, I have a young niece who loves reading too. I wanted to get her a Barnes and Noble gift card. Unfortunately I have been in a boot for a foot problem and can't drive, so I went online , purchased a gift card for my niece on 5/22/18 as of today, even though it's been paid for, my niece never got that card. I call every week and I'm given a run around, do you have a receipt ? Yes of course, when was it ordered 5/22 at 11:35 am. Oh , so sorry we'll get that right out to you. Ok, thanks so much. No gift card week 2, call again, same conversation, ok thanks still waiting. Week 3 same conversation, yes we have that on record, are you saying you still don't have it? Uhh , next time I will take my booted foot to the nearest CVS and just buy a damn gift card and mail it myself! Oh, and AS OF THIS DATE, I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE GIFT CARD I PAID FOR! A horrible shopping experience due to the obnoxious staff, starting with the clerks right up to the manager! I will never frequent this place again! I am stunned at the positive reviews below. Recently, a date suggested we go to a bookstore, and I was truly sad the Borders in Springfield was gone, since they had a cafe and places to sit. My memory was that this store had neither places to sit for adults (except for one very uncomfortable-looking wooden chair, which an elderly man was asleep in -- at least, we hoped he was asleep) nor any kind of cafe. I was right. NO place for adults to even sit down, plus a significant portion of the shelves also were empty. Dunno if they are closing down any time soon, but I have no desire to go back there. Just had the worst experience at this Barnes and Noble. Besides not having a cafe or decent kids area like all the other Barnes and Noble's do, the Broomall one had the worst customer service. I am appalled at the behavior of the night manager at this store on Sunday 1/31/16. The store closes at 8 p.m. Understandable. I was reading with my son, bought one book and was waiting for my husband to pick me up, except that he was running 10 minutes late. Other stores around there also close at 8 p.m. Nowhere for us to wait but outside. I kindly explained my situation asking if I could at least just stand in the alcove while they closed up. Not even the store. Just the area between the store and outside. I mean, they were still going to be inside for at least 15-20 more minutes. Oh, and I'm pregnant and have a 3 year old child with me. It's cold out and I would try to stay out of their way as they did their close-out/clean up. The manager looked at me and told me they weren't allowed to do that. I understand. However, out of the kindness of his heart for a mom with a young one, is 10 minutes too much to ask? He looked at me & said, "How cold is it outside anyways?" Wow. That was it. I was out. Thank you Mr Manager for your rudeness. I have been a loyal Barnes and Noble customer for over 10+ years. Not anymore. read more
