Loved this multi-level Barnes & Noble with a cozy Starbucks café inside. They had a great selection, and I found exactly what I came for plus a few extras. A bit on the pricey side as I spent $45 on two books...but that's to be expected these days. The cashier was friendly and made checkout quick and easy. Stopped by the Cape Cod Mall on a rainy day and decided to check out this location. It's right next to the food court. This location has two floors and filled with so much cool stuff. It's laid out like your typical B&N so it's easy to navigate. I love that they have a local interest section dedicated to Cape Cod themed books. They also have tables featuring local Cape authors. I saw a sign for their book club as well as advertisements for local author signings--neat! Will definitely be back when in the area. read more

Really nice spot! Food/Drink: Snacks and what not. Dinning Area: At Starbucks...small. Prices: Relatively inexpensive, minus the big ticket items. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back private lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and decent in size. Stock: Plenty of items, all stocked well. Clearly priced, and placed in correct areas. Atmosphere: During the winter, pretty slow. I did not wait long at the cashier, Christmas tree and menorah up in the lobby. The service here is really great , the staff is friendly and helpful. This Barnes and noble has a wide selection of books, games, records, movies etc. The staff is great about helping you find books that you were looking for and ordering ones that they don't have in stock. A nice addition to the mall is Barnes and Noble, which has been here for a number of years. There are two floors here at this location. Every time we visit, it is well stocked, with occasional overflow, but nothing to slow anything down. Some things have been rearranged big time as it's been a couple of years since we last visited, but were to locate it at a different location. Overall, this location is kept up and provides great customer service. read more

My husband went in 1/23 to get a book for me. Not in stock so they said they could order and it would take 4-6 days and they would call me when it was in. Finally after over a week he called and inquired about it, on 2/1. The person he talked to said it was in route and would let us know when it was there. We were out shopping on 2/3 and I called again as we were going to be near the area. The woman I talked to said it was going to be in in a few days. She tried to tell me that we had ordered it on 2/1 and I said No that was when my husband called to find about where it was. Apparently no one put the order in when my husband went there in person and they tried to lie about it. I should have ordered it online and I would have already had it. We try to shop locally to support businesses but this is pretty frustrating. read more

I love this place! The selection of music and books is awesome. KPOP Albums (If that is what you want) are very cheap and they get new music in on time. Staff are very nice and helpful and know where everything this. I recommend this place since it's cheap and nice, also a good a setting and nice interior. read more

"I can order it for you." This is the dilemma of the bricks and mortar bookstore. You want to go there for instant gratification, and you're willing to pay for the privilege. Then the staff person tells you that of the five specific things you're looking for, they have zero of them, and each time she tells you, "I can order it for you." I can't even pay through the nose for the item, but I have to wait for it. "Two weeks, at most. Or three, sometimes. Often sooner!" Hulloooo! *I* can order it for *ME* from Amazon and get it TOMORROW and it will cost me LESS. Seriously, I'm only giving Cape B&N three stars because it's the last of the big bookstores on the Cape, and it sort of barely has a discount over all the Summertime Boutique Bookstores (tm) that have a more curated but even spottier general reader selection and which charge super-retail prices. It's become less useful with each passing year. I still, in theory, want it to survive but they keep conspiring to find ways to not take my money. If they keep this up, I won't need a Barnes and Noble book club card, I'll need some flowers to put on the tombstone of the last of the big box bookstores this side of the canal. The sign in the cafe says, "Proudly Brewing Starbucks Coffee".....and I say, "Thank God". The Barnes & Noble Cafe is the closest place that I can get a semi-Starbucks experience....the next closest Starbucks is 20 minutes away! Everyone that works the cafe is cool. I absolutely have my favorites (Stephanie), but more often than not they get my drink correct. They also have a good selection of snacks. I do my best to stay away, but my favorite is the wild maine blueberry muffin. They don't accept Starbucks gift cards, but they will take your B&N cards. I enjoy bringing my son to the children's department and letting him play with the train set. They also have a story time a couple days a week. Other than that, I rarely visit other parts of the store. I have a Nook Color that I LOVE to read during my lunch break in the cafe. I feel so fancy with my high tech gadget! I thought I would miss the experience of holding/shopping for the book....but I am doing just fine without it. The books are at a higher price point than most other places (which is true for all Barnes & Nobles), but definitely the best spot for coffee in the mall. read more

One of the highlights of the Cape cod Mall. Decent size store. Cafe inside. 2 floors. Plentiful staff. My 2 issues: the layout - there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind the layout. Making it difficult to find the books you are looking for. And lack of seating. Especially compared to other B&N's this place is seriously lacking in places to sit down curl up and browse through a pile of books to make your selection. read more

I always order black iced tea at the B&N Starbucks and it is always amazing, but this B&N Starbucks tea was awful!! I asked for more tea than water and they gave me a tea that was still mostly water. I nicely asked the woman to add more tea and she scowled at me and did it and handed it back to me, she never said anything to me, just looked extremely angry. It was still awful and tasted like they did not even steep the tea, it's like they put the tea bag in the water for a second and pulled it out. I had to throw it away and my bf had to throw his away too. They also tried to tell him his membership ended when it did not. This B&N was very disappointing. read more

This is a nice store at Cape Cod Mall near the food court. It was very crowded and they only had two cashews that would take their time. It wasn't clear where to enter the line, many people cut m and got their stuff purchased before me. read more

A great cafe and lots of knowledgeable and helpful staff in the main store. But watch out for the miserable old man with the walking stick / cane. An unpleasant member of their staff if ever there was one, singularly rude and unhelpful. Updated 5/14/14. I love this place! The employees are polite and helpful. The lines move quickly during the Christmas season. This store is the only reason I go to the Hyannis Mall. I can always find the books I'm looking for and the Comics I need for gifts. Huge selection of all different types of things books, dvds, cds, games, collectibles and magazines. Great Barnes and Noble. Two stories with large magazine area, cd/dvd area, Starbucks cafe with seating area. The children's area upstairs has a nice stage for reading books to children and train setup. Large selection of children's books and toys in half the upstairs area. Lots of sales items too upstairs. Clean store attached to the mall and an access to outdoors. Store employees could be a bit friendlier and there is usually a wait to check out with only one cashier. Great store and good to see a nice size bookstore. read more

The employees are extremely rude. Store policies are asinine. You can't return something without a receipt and they will not look up your receipt by your credit card. They make absolutely no attempt to be polite or in any way please the customer. Good thing I have a kindle and access to a library just like EVERYONE ELSE. Outlook: awful. Enjoy your crashing stocks. We just stopped by at 8:58 P.M. to get a summer reading book. Upon entry the store manager informed us in an unfriendly manner that the store would be "closing in two minutes". We asked him for assistance to find the book quickly. The manager turned on his heel and walked away from us, refusing to assist and obviously put out we were in the store. In the day of online retail, service is why you visit a brick and mortar retailer. Now what should the district Manager do? Get a new store manager pretty fast! We really like Barnes and Noble and we say this constructively. read more

A book lover's paradise. It's always a treat when I get to walk through these doors and marvel at all of the eye candy. The staff is attentive and friendly and go above and beyond to help you out.
