If you like to support small businesses, this is a place to go. It's small but has a great selection of books. We found the books we were looking for without a problem. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. There are chairs scattered through the store so you can sit a read a bit before purchasing. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly. How wonderful to have an independent bookstore right in Mashpee. A small shop compared with, say, B&N, but the focus is on books and the selection here appears to have been carefully curated by Cynthia, the very knowledgeable owner. Market Street Bookshop is my favorite independent bookseller on Cape. It's not the largest or the flashiest bookstore but it's the most at peace I've ever felt in a smaller bookstore. All of the employees and the owner herself have always been welcoming and ready to help with recommendations and suggestions! Even better - they understand silence too and are more than willing to let you wander amongst the stacks as you consider your next purchase. I always enjoy my trips to Market Street and I've seldom left empty-handed. Definitely would recommend for any book lovers! read more

Nice store with some uncommon selections and OK prices. This store deals mainly in new books, with what are either used or very aged new books on the side. They also sell some local Cape Cod paraphernalia. I saw comics, graphic novels, and children's books, aside from the usual genres. They had some current affairs books, but I was much happier to see the selection of older, less common books. I bought a copy of The Soul of a New Machine, which I had never seen before and had beautiful 2000s cover art. I wish I had a bookstore like this right around the corner from my home. read more

Great bookstore in Mashpee Commons. Something for everyone here. We got a great children's book and matching toy. The employee was very nice and helped us find the matching book that went with the toy. A wonderful experience overall. They do not have any magazines though, but do have new releases and local authors and books on local subjects. Definitely worth a look. read more

How rude and unprofessional. That's about all I can say about this place. Owner or lady working at the place berated my 10 year old who wanted to go in and take a look around. Treated her as if she was a toddler. This, after waiting outside for a spot to open in the store for about ten minutes. Completely understand covid restrictions and abide by them strictly, but whatever the reason for the berating of my ten year old (covid?), the fact remains the store employee was completely and utterly rude for. I apparent reason. Take your business elsewhere, it's evident they don't value potential customers. read more

This is one of the best bookstores I have ever been in. We were traveling from Pennsylvania and made this store our first stop after lunch on our first day. They were closed for cleaning, so my husband and I were outside the door trying to figure out what to do when the owner noticed us and came out. She found out that we were not locals and had visited mashpee commons just to see her store. She let us in anyway and we spent a very pleasant hour shopping and talking with the owner about book recommendations. They have a great selection of regional works as well as some more obscure children's and young adult books. The visit was one of the highlights of our trip. read more

The perfect little bookstore with a bit of everything for everyone. Add to the wonderful, mix collection of books, the attentiveness and knowledge of the owner and there is no other bookstore of the like at the Cape or surrounding areas. Charming bookstore perfectly stocked with vacation reads and cards. Probably not the best place to go if you're expecting to find serious subjects, but they have a fine selection of best sellers and local area books. Lots of greeting cards and seaside-type gifts to take back as souvenirs of your beach holiday. read more

This bookshop is the only bookstore in the Mashpee area and, although they do not have as many titles as a Barnes & Noble, they can order them and have them in a few days. The owner is very helpful and is great at recommending books. My children go in all the time and they have never experienced what Jake T. reports. The most quaint yet inviting atmosphere on the Cape. Lends itself to more a literary emporium than just a book store.
