If you are waiting for another appointment, relax and browse some books at Barnes & Noble! We love books, and my husband especially enjoys books and magazines about sports, cars, and motorcycles. The store is large, and they have a restroom and a Starbucks if you need it.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a free Tarot Tutorial event "Learning The Basics" at the Grossmont Barnes and Noble taught by Bookseller Shelby. I love that this location does these sorts of events. From time to time there is a table that showcases "Book Blind Dates" which I absolutely love. This store to me appears to think outside the box of a major bookstore chain! It almost feels like a quaint neighborhood bookstore at times with the engagement from the staff who is always friendly and helpful.

Public bathroom not available. I've come here since I was in elementary school. I only came to this mall because my sister worked at Rubios next door when I was 5. Times changed and this place is great and renovated nicely in the kids section is so cute! I love the magazines. Grew up buying so much top gear, but now I'm into diy stuff, home decor and all things Martha Stewart influenced haha. Homeless population outside is nuts, but that's the malls fault. The staff here are sooooooo nice! They give our dog treats and take pictures with her of course with permission! The staff baby talk our dog because they know us! We come here with our family and find new things to learn and have a moment to soak in a modernized feel of a trendy library. I just hope they can get security for the homeless outside maybe work with the mall, possibly get automatic doors that open with sensors because people that come here as customers do not thank you when you hold the door! In fact when I open the door for my own family- strangers have the audacity to walk in FRONT of my party of people and it's so disrespectful. They never hold the door for us either! Selfish world. Anyways just please fix the bathroom here at barnes! It's our fave place in La Mesa and a precious piece of family memories :) thanks

You got books, you got toys, you got a place to sit down to read and play. I don't think you need to ask for more, the largest collection of knowledge you ever had, whichever fit your tastes, go for it, also a starbucks coffee next door perfect for you to grab one and read books

This is a great B&N's because the space is massive and there's a Starbucks next door. I wish there were more places to sit and read but I definitely understand why there's a limited number of chairs. There's always a nice steady flow of people coming in and out of here. Also the kids section is nice but I just wish they would be quiet but hey they're kids. I'm sure you can find just about anything you want and more. One of my favorite sections is the travel and Military history. If you come during the right time you may find some good deals.

I like this Barnes & Nobles. They have a great selections of genres and most importantly, they have a great staff that will help you what you are looking for. I recently went on vacation and was looking to purchase some literature on the area I was going to for points of interest and the local culture. A young lady, one of the employees easily directed me to the right area and help me find exactly what I needed. She was quite nice and helpful. In addition to the great selection of books and magazines at this location, there is also a Starbucks right next door with door access between both places. They have seating at this Barnes & Noble and Starbuck's beverages and eats are allowed in the store while fingering or reading your newly discovered piece of literature.

Anyone know what happened to the tables next to Starbucks? I really liked those tables and hope they bring them back.

The tables outside remain. As bookstores continue to close, they've discovered they can fill that expensive indoor square footage with product rather than a lounge where a cup of coffee is nursed and B&N's stock is used as study materials. La Mesa…

I managed to toss books like rocks at them as if I'm a bridge troll. However, after cussing out some 23 year old that cant even read, I've decided to move on to better bookstores. (Or I was told I'm not welcome back, same difference). Anyway, BOOK PLACE IS RAD. I am hooked, on the book. I don't really enjoy the Barnes & Noble because A) Expensive as hell, and B) AI cover art everywhere. So, Book Place. Cluttered how I like it. But in a good way. Like, you think you might find Iain Banks in the mystery section, but actually he might be in the Thriller section, or both! And you've discovered a new author on the way! I just love how it feels to have such a variety of books. Some spent time being loved by someone, and others, maybe were a gift that they trashed and it ended up here. Everyone who works here is cool, we can chat about books, and they'll tell you if they have something. Though personally I enjoy the thrill of the hunt for something I don't know if I'll find. I've always managed to find something. Plus, their prices are great. The buyback option is awesome. (Plus you have the opportunity to share what you loved... or didn't love and give someone else your hot garbage!) They've got a rental system too. So it's kinda like if Blockbuster came back, and had a baby with a book Place. They've got the oddities I crave. They have the weird science fiction with the holographic covers from the 90s and early 2000s (yeah those nerd ones). Star Wars novels, covered (and I don't mean the post-Disney garbage). I love this spot. It's not super close to home, but it gives me a reason to venture into this part of the county. Makes me very happy. Support this place and keep it alive because I need it in my life.

I got some great books like the Crescent City Trilogy, House in the Cerulean Sea, and Love and Other Words for $33. If you love incense that smells like high-quality candles and not the usual overpowering fragrances, this is the place to go. They have unique scents, minis, and so many little treasures to explore. The highlight of my visit was my session with Arturo. It is honestly hard to put into words how gifted he is. His readings blend tarot, energy work, numerology, and a level of spiritual insight that goes far beyond a typical session. He is incredibly accurate and has a way of seeing into you that feels both grounding and eye-opening. You can feel that he is tuned in the moment he looks at you. We have seen many spiritual workers, mediums, and healers over the years, including well-known ones that had their own TV show. Arturo was just as aligned and consistent as the best of them, especially when it came to past life lineage, soul contracts, and aura interpretation. He picked up so much from even the smallest details, and every one of us walked away blown away. Since my session, I have already sent a friend to see him, and she had the same experience. Arturo is honest, detailed, and extremely thoughtful. He does not rush you or cut things short because the clock hits a certain time. He genuinely cares about delivering the message and sharing what he sees. He also brings humor and warmth into the reading, which makes the whole experience feel safe and uplifting. We all left feeling lighter, more aware, and even joked that seeing Arturo is like having a medium and a therapist all in one. If you are curious or even slightly drawn to it, I truly recommend booking a session. I am sure you will find it more than worth it.

It was a bit of numerology, aura reading, tarot, discussion and honestly I left feeling better than I have felt in a long time. I've never had a tarot reading or even been in a metaphysical bookstore, so wow it was a pretty cool first experience. For anyone looking for a reading, all I can say is if there is such a thing as the real deal (and I believe there is) then Arturo is it. Highly recommend.
