This Barnes & Noble was decently organized and seemed clean. I always love just browsing the seasonal displays as well as all the sale/clearence items. I found a journal for $4 at another location and was looking for the same one but a different color for my friend. They did have it for $10 and the same one I got for $5. I thought I would ask if the $10 was supposed to be the same price as the $5 one because they were the same exact item just a different color and I was told no, the price is what it is - understandable. I decided not to get it and to adventure back to the first location I seen it for $4. They have a lot of cool stuff but I find that a lot of it is a bit pricer unless you are a member and get the discount. The store was fairly quiet & chill. Received what was supposed to be a $100 gift card for Christmas and when I went to use it, the card wouldn't work. My sister had the same problem. After contacting Customer service MULTIPLE times including spending over an hour on the phone after work one night, I got absolutely nowhere. Found out they never even charged the creditcard at time of purchase to load the gift cards. So instead of $200 being charged and loaded onto gift cards the clerk charged the giver $5.44 and loaded $0.00 onto the gift cards. But of course it's been crickets from Barnes And Noble since I notified them of this. They don't actually care to rectify the issue. read more

Out of all the Barnes & Noble Bookstores in the Twin Cities, this is by far my favorite! I love the layout, and I LOVE the Barnes & Nobles cafe! it's located right by the window, so there's plenty of light, and so comfortable. The food choices are excellent. Today I enjoyed the Tomato Caprese sandwich, which was oh so delicious with ripe red tomato slices, sliced fresh mozzarella with the most irresistible creamy basil sauce on a baguette. The sandwiches are made right at the cafe. YUM! Oh, and if you ever decide to have cake there, the cakes are from Cheesecake Factory. Oh, and their coffee is from Starbucks. LOVE! read more

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how wonderful this store smells! I adore the smell of books and that smell brings back so many good memories. I was with a friend and we were looking for children's books for first books. The selection is diverse and there should be something for almost any tastes. Prices are good and there is a discount for frequent buyers. The staff is helpful and friendly. There's a coffee shop inside to enhance your book buying experience. They had a display of vinyl records and players up front, everything old really is new again! Maybe one day I'll be there looking at my own book on their shelves! read more

Do Not Trust This Store With a BookFair Barnes and Nobel reached out to our small preschool through email. We didn't call them. Like others who posted here, we solicited parents, made posters, worked hard, attended the event which was VERY busy on a Sunday afternoon, and heard nothing back for two months. When I sent a written request for an accounting of the event, the Maple Grove Minnesota store manager called us at school and told us that our cash register sales totaled $631. He told me we had not made the minimum requirement of $1500. He then asked if our school would like to choose a clearance item from their clearance bin as payment. I kid you not. I would expect a company as large as Barnes and Nobel to have a process for their book fares. I would expect they would follow a process with a written accounting and follow-through after the event. None of this was offered to our school. Since they solicited us to do a fundraiser with them, I am surprised by this lack of professionalism. The way charitable institutions and third-party fundraisers ask for support affects people's trust and confidence in fundraising. I do not feel that Barnes and Nobel's fundraising program for schools is open, honest or respectful. In fact, their lack of reasonable steps to render any accounting what so ever, might be illegal. Knowing what I know now, I am forced to take reasonable steps to assess and manage the risks fundraising with Barnes and Nobel poses to those parents and friends who chose to take part in our charitable institution's activities. I feel this promotion has harmed my organization's work and reputation. I plan to file a complaint with the Minnesota State Attorney Generals Office. read more

I would choose this one above those closer to me. The mysteries are in the very back, which is cool because you aren't bumping into people that way. A major bonus they carry many of our local authors. William Kent Kruger is a NY Times bestseller, and they have a display of all his books. They probably offer author signings too. It's in a large strip mall off Main St. They are well stocked in this genre, can't say that about all of them. This is the most civilized one I've been to. read more

This isn't some quaint, neighborhood bookstore where you can catch up on the community gossip over a cup of coffee and whittle the day away. This is a mammoth operation that dabbles in many things and is the master of none. And I like it that way. Overall, the staff is friendly and helpful. They are stocked up on recent best sellers and there are quite a few little unknown gems on the bargain tables. There is a pretty good children's section in the back and there are many calendars, games and oddities on which to spend your money. I recommend getting the rewards program if you're planning on shopping here more than a few times per year. You'll end up saving money if you spend more than $100 here annually. Since no one actually reads anymore, this review will probably be obsolete before I'm done writing it. But, I'd like to think that Barnes & Noble and Hennepin County Library in Maple Grove are important places in Maple Grove. Sure, you can get your books from the Internet (and I sometimes do), but it's nice to browse through this store and find something you'd never discover unless you picked it up and touched it. read more

Our DOGS crew was here wrapping gifts because they were gracious enough to invite us in and provide this opportunity. Their staff is friendly and helpful as well. I never realized you can do all your holiday shopping at Barnes and Nobles, they don't just have books, but toys, puzzles, plush animals, and more! If you have time run in there and check it out, support the local businesses if you can, instead of ordering the stuff online. Final word; I don't usually buy books, but when I do, I'll go to Barnes and Nobles. read more

I really enjoy this Barnes and Noble. Things are set up in a way that makes sense. Some types of books take me a little longer to find. It's always very clean and a nice environment. There aren't too many people walking around asking if you need help though which is a little frustrating considering how long the line can be at customer service to find a certain book. There also isn't very convenient seating locations to check out a book. Our 7 year old ended up playing with her book on the ground while waiting for me to pick out my own book. And the toys are very spendy which is hard because they're everywhere so naturally children keep asking for them. They aren't too pushy on their membership sales which I like. But overall, they always have what I need and it's usually an easy visit. read more

Barnes and Noble has a lot of cool stuff! I'm more on the cheap side, so I didn't buy anything, but I found some interesting things. There are a lot of puppets for sale, and it's helpful to go there and actually try them on to see how they would work and if they are easy to work with. Also, they sell vinyl, record players, magazines, and cool pens. It's packed with all sorts of products! read more

I went in today to buy a nice leather notebook. Found everything well and was glad to see the price was fair to what I've seen other places. I found a new notebook no problem with the easy to find lay out of all chain stores have, but what this chain store lacked as customer service. During the check out process I was asked if I wanted to to use my barns and noble member account, knowing I use to have one I had the lady look up my account using my email address. She found my account and then told me the totally today would only be $22. Assuming that was that total I handed her my card and signed away. After getting to my car I noticed the receipt said $53 after looking over the receipt I noticed she charged me for a "membership renewal" when I was never asked if I wanted to renew my membership and would have never wanted to if in knew that the $22 was for the renewal not my actual total! I went back into the store where I had purchased this not even five minutes later and was told there was nothing I could do and had to call a number to get a refund. The employees refused to help me or give me the managers information so I could speak with them. So unhelpful and rude. I understand why they are closing stores when the staff is so rude and unhelpful. read more

Love the in-store shopping experience and friendly staff, however found that the books I wanted were cheaper on B&N.com. The store wouldn't price match their own website so ordered on Amazon for an even lower price. If you know what you want, skip the trip to the store and order off their website for the better deal. read more

I love books, and Barnes and Noble is a great place to get them. However, today, being excited to use my gift card from Christmas experienced the worst customer service ever in this store. We made a stop here because we had a gift card to use! The staff here was extremely helpful and friendly. The one thing I noticed immediately was it wasn't crazy! Normally these stores have so many people in them and it's hard to find help without waiting.. Not here! We even got a decent parking spot!
