I love book stores so much! Today (Black Friday) it was busy and lots of sales. Lines weren't too long either. Only down fall is if you are looking for something specific they might have to order it for you. Great gift ideas too!

With all the advantages of information at our fingertips and at a moments notice, for me... nothing replaces the feel of a book in my hands. I came here looking for a book by a local author of that is sold out elsewhere. The staff was very helpful and they offered to order it for me and also located it somewhere closer to my home. No it's not an independent bookseller but I have yet to discover those since I am new. For now it's just nice to have good service when many places, including this one, are short staffed.

I used to to frequent this location with my parents. The store is large and organized. Best sellers and recommended reads are on the tables down the middle aisle of the store. They have a great selection of magazines. There's a cute children's area in the back. There's a nice size cafe. You can find bookmarks, planners, pens, pencils, and other accessories near the front of the store by the registers. Parking can be a major hassle in this shopping center. There are so many businesses so it's always busy. Upcoming events are listed on their website.

Nice retail bookstore, same as any other B&N in the chain. Some seating in random spots as well as in the "Cafe" where you can get a coffee and a pastry to enjoy while you read the book that you're probably not going to pay for. Prices are off the chart, but their member discount helps to relieve the pain. B&N has free AT&T wifi. Awsome.

I have always liked this Barnes & Noble Booksellers location at Towne Center in Mount Pleasant. The store is clean and well organized. It is a good place to find the book you need, but also to meet people and conduct business. The staff is helpful and help you find the exact book or magazine you are searching for. I have always had a good experience every time I have visited this location. It is one of my favorite book stores.

Don't understand why the Towne Center branch gets such a low rating. IMO, this is one of the better Barnes and Noble. Always lively. In my experience staff have always been very helpful. Always nice to sit at their Starbucks cafe while flipping through books have picked up off the shelf.

Great customer service, and a very good selection! I had a book signing here, and will absolutely consider going back.

Friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint is that they took out most of the big, comfortable chairs :(

This store is so cute and relaxing to be in! There's a café/bar with a wide variety that isn't obnoxiously expensive and plenty of great books to choose from (and thankfully no Booktok section or ugly stickers covering gorgeous covers). There's a comfy seating area to read your book of choice and enjoy a delicious beverage. There's also plenty of unique and creative bookish gifts to get for your loved ones. Kind staff, clean place (including the bathrooms) and a great selection to choose from. 100% recommend!

They have inside and outside seating, which is nice for when it's a nice day! I've gone for one of their evening events of trivia and that was super fun!!! I've also gone just to hang with friends while we drink some coffee and yap and look at books. I love that they have a few different specials each month. Everyone that works there is so sweet! It's definitely one of my rotating places for coffee and a work day.

It looks like a nice store but it is very overwhelming…read more I left quickly after entering due to how overwhelming it was. Books stacked over your head with only minor order to them. A general genre sorting, but it is not always right.

Trade A Book is Charleston's oldest bookstore. As of 2025 Beverley has been in business for 36…read moreyears. Her first store under the same name was located in Summerville on Trolly Rd which she later sold. (That new owner has since moved the location and kept the same name though they are not affiliated.) Trade A Book is a used bookstore where readers are able to bring in their books in exchange for store credit. There is a limit of 25 books per person per day that can be brought in. (Please don't be one of those that tries to sneak more in.) You May find new books on the shelves when someone trades them in but TAB does not order stock of new releases. What books should you expect to find? A little bit of everything. - general fiction - fantasy / sci fi - Upper YA - Lower YA - Children's books (grade school as well as picture books for the little kiddos) - Historical fiction - Classics - Romance (historical, contemporary, fantasy) - Mystery/ thriller - Horror - Religious / Christian - non fiction (this space is very small and limited) - Westerns - Local authors - and much more!! At this time operating hours are Thurs-Fri 11-4P. It is best to call the store ahead of time to confirm they are open as Beverley runs the store by herself and can take leave while she assists with family care. Beverly is one of the nicest store owners and is super knowledgeable about the books on her shelves. Readers are always welcome to request temporary holds if something comes in. There is a special charm to this place that you won't find anywhere else in the Charleston area. 10/10 recommend visiting yourself. There is a coffee shoonnex
