I'm a huge Barnes and Noble fan, it's the only store that carries my favorite authors books. JL Mac and Kathy Almedia.

Good bookstore in Ocala. Just like all the other B&N in the country. They have a Starbucks inside...good selection of books and magazines.

The Starbucks cafe inside is a great spot to grab some coffee, especially if you're a B&N member as you get 10% off every time you buy coffee.

Information regarding pricing or what was in stock was impossible to find so I had to go and check it out first hand. I was greeted upon immediately walking in. This place is way bigger than I thought it would be. I started browsing the book shelves that were in front and worked my way back towards the store. I only looked through the fiction section but noticed a huge selection of other genres like Sci Fi and Adult Romance. There was also a children's section in the back. Walking towards the front of the store, there were shelves with DVDs as well. In the middle of the store, there's a little lounge section with comfortable chairs and tables to read at. I was carrying several books so I decided to grab a shopping basket. They have the cool ones that have wheels and suitcase like handles. I finally made my way to the register and chatted with the employee. She asked if I found everything i was looking for, to which I did not. She offered to look up titles I wanted and even though they did not have any in the store, she offered to put my information in the system if those books do show up. I purchased 6 books and paid almost $20. Not horrible but I thought for sure it would be cheaper. They have a buy back program, where you receive store credits but I forgot to inquire about the details. Of course I will be back!

The Book Rack in downtown Ocoee is not only a great place to shop for used books; it's also a great…read moreplace to bring in any of your own used books for credit. You're not only decluttering your house, but you're helping out a small local business. With every book you bring in, you receive credit toward future purchases. I already have more credit than I'll probably ever use, but I'm happy that my previously read books are going to a good home. The store has a pretty decent used book selection with floor-to-ceiling shelving (and also some graphic novels, CDs, and DVDs). It's always hit-or-miss, so each time I go; I never know what I'll find. There's also a little sitting area with coffee or hot cocoa, if you so desire. How much are the used books? They're half off the cover price. How does the credit work? You get an additional half off the half-off price. So if a book has a cover price of $8, the store sells the book for $4. I can use my credit balance for an additional $2 off (half of the $4), leaving the book at a total of $2. There are also some $1 books on a rack outside the store. Everyone working there is always super friendly and helpful.

When I first walked in I wasn't even sure where to begin but it was great to be able to browse and see their extensive collection. Staff is very friendly and let us know that they curate their books from donations. If you donate your books to them, they create an account where you can have a credit on file to use. As someone, that occasionally does donate books, this is fantastic news! Additionally, all of their books unless otherwise stated are half off the cover value which is incredible and affordable! They definitely had something for everyone there. I look forward to visiting them again, hopefully with some books to give them!

I will just make this short and to the point. I have shopped…read morethis store at Lake Square Mall for about 5 years since moving to FL. I have purchased a book a couple times that I needed to exchange or simply return. When I return, I am fine with a gift card VS cash back. After the 1st of the year 2026 I shopped a sizable number of books for upcoming birthdays for my young nieces and nephews. At this time, I also purchased a Calendar/datebook in the form of a book, as I always do year to year so that I have room to make notes for upcoming events, appointments, etc. This year 2026 I purchased later than normal as I typically purchase this for just myself. So, as you enter the parking lot side of the store, straight ahead as a " turn style" type of stand that had the kind of Calendar Books I always purchase. I looked at the design covers and chose one suitable to my hobby as an "avid bird, butterfly, etc" . When I got home, I opened the Calendar and it began in the middle of July. Needless to say this did not suit my needs, so, being a regular customer annually for gift giving, I simply wanted to exchange it for one that reflected the entire year of 2026. The fairly young woman at the checkout desk near the door was very quick to tell me we "cannot exchange" as she went on o say that ALL these Calendar books start in July. That if I wanted one to start in January, I needed to purchase one in 2025. Needless to say, I found this to be absurd. Nevertheless, I asked for a "store credit" since I frequently shopped there, NOTE: I would have just re-spent the credit on some something else while I was there. This girl/young woman refuse ALL options and said there was nothing that could be done about this. *So, here we are mid-July, and I now could of or can use the earlier purchased Calendar. Bottom line is, I purchased another one that suited what I needed and have just left the one from Books A Million set aside. I believe that this young woman had no idea of how to handle a simple transaction, exchange or credit, thus, losing a faithful yearly customer. My advice to shoppers is BE CAUTIOUS, their rules, their regulations can change at the drop of a hat and there was not 1 single suggestion of "I'm sorry", no empathy, no nothing. **I have not shopped in Books A Million at Lake Square Mall, Leesburg, FL ever again. I didn't really have a goal in mind for what I wanted, so just going through the stacks and browsing to see if anything caught my eye was the basic plan. Lots of people lined up, but I got through the line pretty quickly. Inside, the books are arranged in a reasonable order, and the different sections are easy to identify, so finding areas that interested me was not a problem. Coming across the cooking section, I found that there were a number of smaller cookbooks that I like to term as "Wive's Club Cookbooks" which can be some of the best/most entertaining cookbooks you can come across due to the nature of the recipes that are contained in them. You never know what you are going to find in them, though recipes from the 1960's are prevalent and gelatin comes into heavy play. Good stuff there, and I stocked up on them. Overall, the Friends of the Library book sale is always a good thing to go to!
