They have a great selection of books, puzzles, games, stationery, and all kinds of unique items. It's easy to spend hours browsing, especially with a Starbucks conveniently located inside the store. The only thing I would suggest is having more employees available on the sales floor to assist customers when needed. I've been to a lot of Barnes and nobles and this has to be the smallest. The customer service is great. Small selection in magazines lots of books for romance and anime. So of the prices are out of this world but some discounts. But not bad of a place if you looking for Lego's or a good book to read read more

I love that there are still Barnes and Noble bookstores around. So many bookstores have closed shop in Omaha over the years, with the eReaders becoming so popular. But sometimes you want to hold a real book in your hands and turn the pages! This Barnes and Noble location is conveniently located in the Oakview Mall area of shops, so it's pretty easy to get to from almost anywhere in Omaha. They also have a Starbucks, which is great if you're there to study or to grab a drink on your way in/out of the shop They have their own eReader too, the Nook tablet. I am a Kindle girl myself, though, so I only come here for actual books and other things when I need them. And they also have more than just books - they also have tons of little gifts, Funko POPs, music in both vinyl and CD, and also are one of the last places that are carrying Criterion movies. That last movie shopping visit is where we recently had an issue, actually. We did a pickup order of a movie that is pretty limited, and they were the only ones that had it in stock. We went to pick up the order and they had grabbed the wrong one (the standard version, not the 4k we ordered). Mistakes happen, but it was pretty disappointing, because it was a gift and of course, with the rarity of the 4k version, it was totally sold out now and we couldn't just swap the mistaken one for the one the person wanted. Like I said, mistakes happen, so I wasn't like enraged by this, just pretty disappointed. I would still recommend this Barnes and Noble bookstore, because it's one of the last places to actually get books (aside from the book aisle at local department stores, but their selection is so limited!!). read more

I absolutely love this Barnes and Noble! I always try and come to this one when I'm in the area since it's the closest and the people are super nice!! They almost always have what I'm looking for book wise, and even when they don't, the people are always willing to let me know when they're getting the books in next! Price wise it's a bit expensive but that's usually because I don't just get one or two books normally, I normally get like 5+ at once so the price is a bit on the more expensive side but with their premium rewards I'm able to get a 10% discount on my books which I'm always happy about!! read more

I stopped by this location for an author meet and greet last week. I joke when I say half of Omaha was there, but I'm not really joking. The few employees I interacted with were super friendly, and helpful when I asked a few questions regarding particular books I was looking for as well. I try not to buy books, but as with all franchise bookstores, they've got a lot of books to choose from as well as gifts and a nice little café inside. read more

This is one of the few bookstores that are still in business in West Omaha. The place appeared quite cluttered with books and other items being moved around during the holidays but no one returning them back to where they belong. Some items were on sale while the calendars remained at the usual prices. The calendar selection was not great and very limited. read more

This is such a big store. Lots of books to choose from. It's clean. However the workers here were rude. Went and asked one of the employees a question asking if an author could be in Multiple spots considering that author writes in many genres. and she just said "whatever is out is what we have" And looked Very inconvenienced. Then I went to the employee at the desk (in middle of store) and she didn't smile at all. And just talked to me like a bot. It's like jeeez. I tried using the app as I normally don't like bothering people but it wasn't letting me know locations of books. read more

I came into the store the other day to do an order pick up. Somehow I kept having an issue and my orders were getting cancelled. I walked in and told Bob everything that was happening and he took care of it right quick! I had 6 books to get for school. He helped me search for as many as he could in store, and then we ordered the rest without a problem. The reason I wanted to order a few of the books was due to getting free shipping. I really love bookstores and Barnes and Nobles is one of the few left here for me to peruse through! They have a large selection of books an movies, though every once in a while they do not have the book I am looking for. They can order it for you, however. They have a very large children's area complete with a train set for the little ones to play with! The only bad thing about brining the kids there is since they also have a GIANT toy section, they usually end up coming home with books AND toys! I also like how they have a TON of Harry Potter things out now AND Totoro and Sailor Moon things! I usually don't get to buy any of the Totoro things unless I'm in Hawai'i, so really, Barnes and Noble is a real treat! read more

My head always loves a good bookstore, and Barnes and Noble has always been more than just good. My hiney disagrees with my head, though, and wishes they would bring back the abundance of comfy chairs. I bought more when I could sit on something other than a hard wooden chair because I would take time to peruse a stack of books, fall in love with most of them, and take my new best friends home. Now I grab what I came to get and don't take time to browse. Still, this is my go-to place for books and magazines to cover nearly any topic. With all of the books that you see being sold online by Amazon and other online retailers, I love going into a bookstore and browsing through the books!! And every once in a while, I'll want to read a new author for a change. So that's why I am so glad that this Barnes & Noble bookstore hasn't closed its doors just yet. Plus it's definitely a bonus if you have a membership with them because you can get great discounts on books and other things in the bookstore ranging from coffee to children's toys!!! And the membership is really cheap to renew as well, so I am highly recommending it even though you may not have one of these stores in your area. read more

I called ahead to ask about a magazine and said I would be there in 30 minutes to pick it up. Lady on phone wasn't very helpful. Had to pry answers out of her. Had to ask how much was the magazine twice! Thought she didn't hear me the first time so I asked the 2nd time, giving her the benefit of the doubt. And had to ask, so will that be at the desk? She just answered a short stern yes. It was as if she was too busy to answer any questions. They should give phone etiquette training to their customer service reps who answer the phones, or just passed me onto someone else! When I was hanging up, I did say, well that was rude. When I got to the store, the cashier didn't have the magazine. Said to check the shelf or ask at customer service. No one at customer service so I asked a rep nearby where I could find it and that I called about it. No one answered her on her radio. We went to front and cashier looked on shelves again & rep asked again over her radio. Some other rep answered, we don't got it, sold it. The radio rep asked to repeat that. The rep who was answering rudely stormed by us repeating what she just said and never stopped to talk to us! I said that was very frustrating and that I drove 30 minutes out of my way to come pick it up. The radio rep apologized & I left! read more

Although Borders is my preferred bookstore, BN is not so bad. I like the fact that they have a Starbucks. It's a good place to go if you need to study or need to find a book quickly, since their selection is smaller than Borders. And everything is pretty easy to find. I miss my Borders though! Worst Barnes & Noble in town! If I could give zero stars for this location, I would. The staff was rude and abrasive without cause. My two friends and I were there to do a brief trade of some tabletop game pieces/collectibles in the parking lot with some guy we met on craigslist, then go inside and checkout some books and maybe have coffee or whatever. We were fully dressed in respectable clothing and are generally mild mannered computer nerds. The trade only lasted a few minutes, but before we could even finish, we were approached by staff from the store, and were told we had to leave immediately with no introduction on their end, common courtesy to ask nicely first, or explanation as to why we had to leave. The two workers who approached us were clearly attempting to physically intimidate us by stepping close into our personal space, enough so that the guy we were meeting with had to ask if he could get to around them in order to enter his car. I called their store the next day (after calming down) to log a complaint and requested the store manager call me back to discuss the way we were treated as well as have an opportunity to find out specifically if there was a policy that we broke, and why we were demanded to leave. I got ahold of "a manager" who said she would bring it up with the store manager and have him call me back. It's been almost a full week now and no one has called. My friends and I understand that every business has the right to refuse service and can insist that anyone in particular leave the property, and that's why we complied. However, the way they handled the situation seemed to be more like grade-school bullying than how a professional business should operate. It was really uncalled for! If they would have approached things differently we would have thought little of it, moved to another location and conducted our trade without issue. Unfortunately now we are left scratching our heads... as to why this happened the way it did. I can only conclude that they must have had a huge problem with a few people performing a simple exchange in their parking lot before entering the store. We picked Barnes and Noble as it seemed to be a safe place to meet someone new, and we love the selection of books and general environment of the other locations we have visited. Apparently however, store leadership at the Oakview Mall location in Omaha, Ne would prefer people making deals on craigslist use some deserted back alley and wind up getting killed in the process, over having someone other than themselves make any kind of transaction on the land they pay to lease. read more

I must admit I hardly ever go into a bookstore anymore as I do most of my book purchasing online or digitally straight onto my Kindle for iPad. But I remember the children's book section being pretty decent here and thought it would be a good place to leaf through some children's books to get a better idea than an amazon review. I forgot HOW GOOD this Barnes and Noble Children's Section is! it's really a great place to bring your child and to sit and go through books and figure out what he/she will like. I really enjoyed spending quality time here and finding some old favorites. I would have never been able to reciprocate getting the right books over the internet. read more

*MANAGEMENT problems!* To my lovely surprise I found myself in St Louis at a Barnes and Noble there and tried this soup they had. It was so great. I asked the manager of the cafe there about it (she was very helpful) and and told me the brand and said my local B&N should be able to get it in. I called the Oakview store over a week ago to speak to the manager of the cafe. She wasn't in so they took my name and phone. Nobody called so I finally called a second time and still the manager of the cafe wasn't in. At that time the person who was working at the cafe transferred me to the store manager. Didn't make much sense, but now I realize it's just that nobody cares. So that manager, a female (not sure if I can include names in these reviews so I'll leave it out) was very short, rude and unhelpul to say the least. She seemed uninterested in understanding what I was saying since she kept interrupting me. All I want to know is can you get this soup in! And if not, then why not! Geez is it that difficult? That manager basically said nope, never, can't, goodbye and call back sometime and try to talk to the manager of the cafe. But not tomorrow, you know, because she's not in tomorrow either. They only carry one brand of soup and there are several different flavors. How difficult can this really be. It makes me never want to step foot in this store to support it. read more
