Trying to keep brick and mortar stores open, I recently placed an order for 30 copies of a bestseller for my company, to be shipped to executives across the country. I was told it would be just 2-3 days, to get them so I placed the order since I was going to ship them overnight. It's now going on SIX days later with no return call from Toledo's Barnes & Noble, as promised. I just tried calling the store, and after about 15 rings someone finally picked up and couldn't find my order, so she said she would ask her manager to "try" to give me a call back today. (It's 11a and the store doesn't close until 9p.) Next time, I'll order the book for $2 less per copy through Amazon Prime AND have it delivered to my doorstep the next day. #FasterCheaperBetter read more

"Let us go wander a bit at Barnes & Noble" I said, on New Year's Day. I was absolutely horrified when entering the store. Books on the bookshelves were piled and askew, the floor looked like it had not been vacuumed in some time and there were stacks of books on racks with no rhyme or reason. Even if a 'service' does the vacuuming and missed a day, does no one take any pride in how their store is presented? I can tell you it will be some time before I return. read more

I went to the Starbuck's in the store, and the tables were all doubled up. I figured some groups had been there. Anyway, I peeled off a table and sat and opened my drink. A snarky punk girl with a frozen fake smile came to tell me I have to sit at a double table because of the corona virus. I observed that was stupid. Adhering to the mantra that the customer is always wrong, she sneered that it wasn't stupid then pedantically said that "we ARE in a pandemic." I moved but I told her I would never patronize that Starbucks again, ever. She shrugged airily as though it's of no concern to her. I always tip those girls at least a buck, which few do, I've heard them say. I'm done with that Starbuck's, so I'm done with the damned store. read more

I love Barnes and Noble. They have a great selection for me and my kids. It's nice that they have coffee and cheesecake inside as well. I love that I can purchase great finds for both educational and entertainment purposes. read more

Came here with the intent to spend a few hours and get work done on my laptop. However, I was kinda annoyed to learn that there are no wall sockets anywhere so you can't charge your electronics. Very weird. I asked a worker and she told me there is only one socket in the entire store. Clearly they don't want people to spend a lot of time in here. read more

This Barnes & Noble isn't as large as others, but its Toledo. But this is my favorite bookstore, the only thing that doesn't make it 5 stars is the membership cost. I don't have alot of time to do recreational reading, so paying $25 for the membership isn't good enough for me. Saving only 10% off of regular merchandise. If its new, you get an additional 30% off, but I wait for reviews from trusted critics. I don't like Starbucks, but I love that it is there. Their magazine's are inferior to BooksAMillion but they are good enough for me. The kids area is the best of any other bookstore, it has a little reading area, its own checkout, nice space and design. If you go to Borders, it looks like a Library. I like how the books are displayed through BN. They also have an awesome media section with demo's available everywhere. read more

I like a bookstore, any bookstore. I don't want this place to close, but they need to hire competent cashiers. Watch out if you have a coupon. The girl who rang me up said "oops - I forgot to add the coupon," even though I gave it up front. She told me to put my card back in and she'd credit it. Many days later it occurred to me to check my bank online and, sure enough, she charged me an extra 20% instead of crediting me 20%. I had no idea where my receipt was by then, so I figured I'd bought myself a lesson. read more

We visited this store on Saturday, August 26, 2017 and were greeted by Christopher who offered to help us find what we were looking for. Since Barnes & Noble did not carry the item we wanted, Christopher suggested a retailer who might carry the item and went the extra mile to contact the retailer to confirm that they carried the item. I am so happy with barns and nobles we last minute called because target lied to us. It was 5 minutes before closing when we called and said we might be there please hold for us so they brought it up front we rolled up right before 9:59 and they ran out we paid real fast and it was so perfect. Not my favorite, but it will do. I'm not a fan of chains in general, but had a gift card. This location gains a star for having the book (the Next to Normal libretto) that I had trouble finding. But loses a star due to the horribly obnoxious high school girls running around. I must have been there right as school let out. No matter where I was in the store, I could hear them, cutting my browsing time tremendously. Also leading to my distress...I couldn't find the Anne of Green Gables books anywhere, but there was an entire section of "Teen Paranormal Romance". (When did that become a genre? Anne + Gilbert trump Bella + Edward any day!) read more

I have never had a bad experience in any Barnes and noble, ever. Everyone is always helpful and nice. I love amazon but there's something about going to a bookstore that is so refreshing and nice that keeps me coming back. I actually became a member because a nice woman talked me into it and it was cheap. Everything is always nice and neat when I go here. Love it! read more

Great bookstore! I can't give it five ***** because I've only been there once! IT is better than borders, but borders has BETTER coffee! The staff is always very helpful whenever I've been here. Their children's section is full of interesting items and inviting to children. Bargain books are numerous and always full of excellent prices. Magazine section is somewhat spare but the book sections and music sections are more than adequate. read more
