Somebody tell me how this place has been in its current location for 20 years yet my husband and I…read morenever noticed it until last week?! This is everything I want in a used bookstore. It's not slick like a Half-priced Books location, and it is packed with treasure. Mostly decent prices for 2024 and although I would say the science fiction section is either small or hard to find because it's mixed in with a lot of fantasy, it does have one and I bought some things I'm really happy about finding. I even found something from my to-read list that I didn't think I was going to be able to. I also found a copy of an Anthony Trollope book I've wanted to read for a long time, but couldn't find in the libraries I've tried. My husband went straight for the Christmas section and added some really lovely things to our collection. There's no place to sit, but the very nice person working there (the owner, I think) allowed me to rest my bad back in one of her desk chairs. I wish I had known about this place when I had more people to buy books for, but I'm thrilled to have found it now and I can't wait to go back. Next time, I will treat my best friend to a visit here.

Their staff is kind, genuine, and knowledgeable. While I don't live close, I will always make the trip to them (or order online!). Also, the events they throw are truly so fun.

The algorithm era makes confirmation bias so hard to get out of, and places to find perspectives…read morethat weren't just cultivated to make you feel better about what you already believe so you're more likely to buy stuff are rare and incredibly valuable. Mavey is one of those rare places. I've gotten great recs from the staff there on everything from fantasy novels to local authors who otherwise wouldn't have landed on my radar. Love this place!

We mentioned some previous books that our niece enjoyed, and the lady was able to give a number of great recommendations. All three of us enjoyed the experience so much that we each bought a book.
