I had a horrible experience in this store. I ask for a historical book. The employee started to berate me saying is this a joke? Why would you read this book? Why should I look this book up for you? She finally did and starring angrily at me the whole time. Asking several times this is a joke? Or? I was just in shock! When she found the book she basically throw the book at me. There is a reason that Barnes & Noble is going out of business, and this location epitomizes it. I actually came here to make several purchases for Christmas presents. Horrific customer service. Staff that have absolutely no clue about the departments they work in or the books they have in stock. Staff in general have no interest whatsoever assisting you in finding a book, so you can make a purchase. And they have no qualms in showing how unhappy they are doing their job. It's about time this company is put out of their misery and close down. They have certainly gone out of their way to hire unpleasant scrooges to work the few days before Christmas. Time to dim the lights on this trainwreck. This is the first and last time I will ever go to this location. read more

I usually end up staying around the magazine cabinets or sitting around the cafe when I do homework and write. In all my years & within every single bookstore/ cafe environment I have been in, I have never met a coffee shop worker quite like that one girl with the dark blonde hair, blue eyes & brightest smile. I believe her name tag says Christina or Christine on it, but that girl's soul & heart are as beautiful as she is. I have never felt more invited, more assisted, & more cared about than when she's behind that counter. She is so kind, nice & always asks about my & everyone else's day. She even puts smiley faces on cups. I've seen this girl pay for homeless people's food. I've seen & heard this girl singing when she wipes tables and restocks cups & she just lights up the entire cafe & store. She's like a ball of sunshine, just so eager & passionate about her studies & dreams. She makes everyone feel like they're her priority, & the entire environment of the store should radiate kindness the way she does. The world & humanity needs more people like her in it, because it is during times like these ones where humans like her make everything feel okay. read more

My fav place to hang out during summer and to study. I have been going to this location for 15 years. I love Barnes and noble especially the one in Burbank. Easy parking and not too loud. A perfect place to have a coffee and enjoy your reading. read more

This is by far my favorite Barnes and Noble. I used to frequent the one in Valencia when I was in high school, so the smell of the books just brings back wonderful memories. Now, I live just a few blocks from this B&N and couldn't be happier with the service. I've placed books on hold, ordered them online for same-day pickup (my book is usually ready in 30 minutes!) and their cafe is wonderful. They make the best Starbucks Chai Lattes anywhere (definitely better than the ones a few blocks north and south of B&N) PLUS they server Cheesecake Factory desserts. Chais, cheesecakes, and books? Left my books for them to hold for TEN MINUTES at the cashier desk. When i came back for them TEN MINUTES later, they lost it and told me to just go and find it in the shelves. It wasnt on the shelves. read more

I'd love to give them a higher rating, but I've been buying books at this location for years and they simply have a poor track record when it comes to putting NEW RELEASES on the shelves. When I go in on a Tuesday morning, I would like to see the book I'm looking for OUT on a display (and yes, I'm willing to browse a bit until I find it) instead of in the back or stacked with heaps of other ignored new releases at the customer service desk. Every single time, I have to bother an employee, ask about my desired title and then wait as they fail to find it in their system (let alone on their haphazard selling floor). These days I'd rather buy from Amazon, who will deliver to me on street date at a reduced price. Save yourselves Barnes & Noble - please give us access to new books on the date they're supposed to be available! read more

Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite places to visit in Burbank. It has a Starbucks inside of it, and you can just pull up a chair in the morning, grab a book, buy a bagel, and just sit for hours and hours. You don't realize you're having fun, but you're definitely not getting bored-especially with the good books, where no one is distracting you, and you're basically in another world. The book selection is okay. There are a couple books that people recommend, so I ask if they have it, and they shake their head. The one thing that really disappoints me about this place though: the sports books. You have a couple good books here and there, but then you have some really horrible ones. It would really help to have some more biographies of basketball and football players, greatest games books, and stories that are actually interesting. The kid section also has some really good ones, especially with all the books you can choose from. There are a lot of different books that are really interesting to read, and there even is a little place where the kids can play. The customer service is extremely nice, and the receipt even recommends other books that they think you would like, based on the book that you purchased. Bathroom is clean, and parking is decent. It is a good area to be in. It is fun to be at Barnes and Noble all the time, and I'll be coming back soon. read more

Thank you! On Friday I received through Barnes & Nobel online the new David Bowie Blackstar LP. When I got it the paper on the record was torn on both sides, the cover was bent, and all the edges were smashed to where you could see the white side of the black paper. I called Barnes and Nobel on Saturday to see about an exchange and the guy on the other end was very helpful. I told him I would be there on Sunday to make the exchange. When my boyfriend arrived (4 hours before the announcement of Bowie's passing) he worked with Robin who was extremely helpful and understanding. The only record you had available was the clear limited edition. Robin graciously offered him this album and made the whole thing happen. I will never forget this day for many reasons and I will always be thankful to Robin. Your kindness made me the happiest Bowie fan on one of the saddest days. read more

I will NEVER go to this Barnes and Noble location again!! Some of the employees were VERY RUDE!! After the young lady behind the register was unable to locate the book that I wanted she directed me to the customer service counter. After standing there for what seemed like forever with no one behind the register I asked her if someone was coming. She got on the intercom and called someone. Mind you she was the only one working, there were two other employees just standing there chit chatting! After standing there even longer I asked one of the men standing there talking if someone could help me, he shooed me off with his hands and said someone will be there!! He said this as if I was a bother!! Then when the person working the customer service desk finally arrives he says to me "what do you need!" very rudely! I guess I must have been interrupting him too!! I should have just left at that point but I told him what I needed and in the end he couldn't even help me! If there is one thing I can not stand is poor customer service, and these employee were terrible! read more

I am reviewing th online store. Very unhappy. I used to order all the time from Barnes and Noble online and found that even without expidited or express shipping I would receive my order within a week. The past 4 items I have ordered paid for express shipping which is 2-3 business days and didn't receive the items until a week and a half later. NOT HAPPY!!!! Called them twice and for the first item they refunded my express shipping charge I think. Still haven't received the next item which I ordered 4 days ago on express shipping that isn't 2-3 days later. I no longer recommend Barnes and Noble online store. I have canceled two other orders because of this issue read more

I'll start by saying I really like this Barnes and Noble. Everyone at this location is super nice. That being said, I'm writing this review to specifically reccommend one employee in particular. She is a bubbly, quirky, pink haired dream come true. Perhaps a tad dramatic, but she's my ideal book store experience come to life. The first time I met her, she was ringing my purchases up. I rambled on about how I had discovered my love for steampunk. Instead of the standard smile and nod, she brought me a book to try. To my delight, it ended up being my favorite steampunk book so far. The next time I saw her, I asked her for more reccomendations. She took her break so she could pull out specific books for me to purchase. She gets massive points for being a kindred spirit, her awesome choice of hair color, and for ACE customer service skills. Rock on, Melissa. You are fantastic.
