This is one of our favorite Barnes & Noble booksellers in the area. We love to park here and enter the mall. This is our go to place to find books and other gifts for friends and family - and ourselves. Not just books. We find Lego sets, bookmarks, toys, and lots of other miscellaneous items here. Even with just a quick shopping trip this place is in close proximity to Claire's, Build-A-Bear-Workshop, Lego Store, etc. Easy to shop at Barnes, hit any of those other stores, and head out. There's also a fantastic kid's section for getting books for our niece. So glad we still have brick and mortar bookstores like these around. I am not into reading books on screen. We all spend enough time staring at screens, IMHO. Definitely recommend stopping in for just a few minutes. Browse the stacks and find a good book. Get your mind off of the real world for a quick adventure. You won't be disappointed. read more

Barnes and Noble has an awesome deal with the in-store Starbucks cafe, where every month or so they offer a specific book for $5 with any purchase from their cafe. As of April 2026, the current book is See You Yesterday, which looks like a rom com. I decided to try the salted caramel cookie for my cafe purchase, and it was INCREDIBLE! The person working was really friendly. The rest of the store seemed like a typical Barnes and Noble, organized by genre. Lots of toys and gifts for purchase too. I used the bathroom and it was clean. They seemed to have a huge selection of everything. This location is in the Chandler Fashion Center and both entrances seemed to have a cash register/check out/guest services area. Definitely recommend this spot. read more

This setup although probably not done on purpose with ill intent has got to be one of the worst I've seen. Good selection on LGBTQ+ books then right infront of it you've got a jd vance table during pride month nonetheless just such a wacky thing cause he is apart of the group actively taking away rights from trans people. It'd be like having a Juneteenth display and right next to it it's a table dedicated to the confederacy wouldn't that be weird like I get history and all but time and place and this doesn't seem like the time nor the place. Yes they're putting a crimp on community and local bookstores. But, the fact that its big and spacious, diverse in product (to a certain degree), that you can go in seeking a book, walking away with music, or want a cup of coffee and discover a new child's toy to gift, maybe seeking the restroom and running across your next cool game to distract you, the fact that go to pick up your latest magazine on travel but find the calculator you'd been seeking, or in searching for a map you discover details about your planned destination, you may be seeking a spot to just chill while your better half goes shopping, maybe even just walk in the heck of it to browse - you could end up spending some quality time in an educational setting like these commercial, retail libraries! Barnes & Noble is both a good thing, and a not so good thing. But in the midst of corporate America's retail conglomerate super-duper shopping mall world, it is somewhat a boon to intelligence. It is realistically a convenience. Don't get me wrong, I visit our local bookstores and will continue to do so, but Barnes & Noble does have its user-friendliness - plus its right there at the mall, where all my other shopping is. read more

I come to this location specifically because it has the built in Starbucks and great spot to post up and start a good book. We stopped by this bookstore to get Starbucks coffee drinks while touring Chandler. It's the only Asian community in Arizona so we wanted to check it out. This bookstore is located at the Chandler fashion mall with an outdoor entrance. Store itself is huge but kinda dated. Still it's as great as any Barnes & Nobles. I just love bookstores! The Starbucks here is a good sized store with many little cute gifts to choose from. The dry flower bookmarks were so pretty and unique. We walked around a little and got our coffee drinks. The caffeine boosts got us ready to drive to Phoenix airport & fly home. Glad to see a Barnes & Noble bookstore still surviving in Arizona! read more

I still love going here to browse and hunt for books as, I'm an avid reader of... preferably. an actual book in my hand, versus looking on a monitor or phone screen. This is still one of the best places to get gifts from, if you're getting them for a human who likes to read and/or write. I love the magazine section as well... this is my fantasy haven whenever, I'm into my traveling mindset since, the travel magazines give me ideas of places I can put in place, to visit someday The kiddie section, is still cute as well as, a great place, for parents to go with their kids and read to them. There's free parking onsite, as well as, a Starbucks inside but, this Starbs is not seat friendly as it once was. (There's not many) A great place for a date! Had fun!!! read more

I live a long way from any Barnes and Noble, so this visit was the first in a long time. The Chandler Mall was busy but we've seen it worse. We arrived at about 3:30 and spent an hour perusing the shelves. I could spend a week doing that and not be bored. We bought some books and toys for our grandkids and some gifts for each other, spending over $200. I needed help finding my particular selection and the staff was cheerful to help. I went in to get a book for a secret Santa gift and had one of the most outstanding customer service experiences! I walked in looking for a very specific book, and within less than a minute was greeted by Trinady, who instantly knew that I was looking for something. She sent me up with a general area where the book would be and then went to grab James who gave her a little more detail on where I can find the specific charcuterie book I was looking for. Hearing James interact with his staff is a great pleasure and they all are very happy to work there . I exchange a nice chat with James and he recommended another grade book that I didn't plan on picking up but purchased just on his recommendation alone. Once I went to the checkout line, I was then greeted by Alison, who was exploding with positive energy. I wasn't planning on signing up for the rewards program, but couldn't say no since I know that I will absolutely be back . I hope this review is read by corporate and higher management so that they are aware - this type of vibe and guest services cannot be faked. What you have here is truly special! This is a good place for gifts for readers, game players, model makers, writers, artists, collectors, thinkers, and all ages of people. I can't imagine not finding a gift here. The clearance is a pretty great section. Good Wi-Fi Coffee The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star is that they get pricing wrong about every third time I visit. I had a 50% off sticker on the game, got charged more than half. Same with a few books. It's just, I suspect, that their computers don't catch it and the people ringing me up aren't looking at the big red sticker. I've had to double check my receipts for years. It's second nature. B&N's has a great array of offers in their bookshop. Fiction, non fiction, music, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, graphic novels, gifts, games, toys, music and more! Such a wide selection in this day & age where paper books are not the most coveted ítems in town. LOL They have a Starbucks in Barnes and Noble & its so convenient to grab a cup of coffee or tea with a snack while shopping and enjoying the bookstore. Friendly & helpful staff. If you have time: it's such a great place to unwind and find a great read. Support is needed for this chain to survive. Apparently, Barnes and Noble are worried about Amazon nipping at their heels. Think they've already taken a bite?! The location at the northeastern corner of Gilbert & Germann roads, will close on March 28, most everything is currently 50% off. I come to this B&N about once a month, usually at lunch. It is much smaller than some of the original B&Ns, which are now shuttered. I guess the days of those double decker, every book ever published B&Ns are long gone. No more Borders. No more B. Daltons. The list is long and distinguished. Thank you Amazon for making it cheaper and easier to buy a book, I think. Many a Saturday night, after a dinner out, we would get lost in one of the many bookstores in the Mall, looking for our next read. Now it's more magazines and periodicals that catch our attention, or puzzles or Legos. Go figure. I am a member of B&N's Membership book buyers club (and Amazon Prime), so I enjoy 10% to 30% whenever I buy a book here, (instead of doing it on my phone). LOL. Instant gratification, as they say. ThIs B&Ns has a good sized Starbucks, along with a sandwich and Cheesecake Factory operation. This Barnes and Noble location is a good one as far as Barnes and Nobles go. It is well stocked and relatively well maintained. The book shelves are well cared for and they have a wide variety of options. Their bathroom, however, is consistently a mess! OMG! So they lose a star for that because it's been a consistent problem that apparently management doesn't care about. The employees here are generally friendly and helpful, I've found. The children's area is nicely laid out with plenty of options for various reading levels and a nice amount of elbow room. I do have one complaint although it's not with this store specifically so am not removing any stars for it. I signed up for the membership during a promotion that said if you signup you get a free Starbucks drink every month for the year. I got the first coupon via email as expected and haven't received another since and yes, you need the emailed coupon in order to redeem. So I stop in and talk with someone who tells me to call their 800 number. Grrrr. Who has time for that? I asked someone else and got the same answer. Frustrating! read more

I have been coming here more and more lately to look for physical books and stationary. I love the sales and my educator discount, for sure. The staff are always so friendly and offering to help me find books. I appreciate you! The older I get, the more tangible things I want to have in my hand. I never appreciated reading or books before so I never really had them, but now that I have kids of my own, I love taking them here and for my own personal and mental splurge. I love the sale section and the bargain $8 novels and childhood stories, etc. you know, the one's with the fun covers by different publication companies that make stories like "the Count of Monte Cristo" "Grimm's tales", etc. I wish I had more money to buy the books, is all. When I walked in to the store, everything was so clean, organized and tidy. I went wandering around to try and find the book I wanted but was unsure what section i would find it in. I bumped into Felicity while I was trying to search for it and asked her if she could just point me in the right direction. Instead of just pointing where to go, she not only took me to the section but asked the name of the book. She helped me search for it and then offered to check in the system. It turned out that they were the ONLY location that didn't have a copy of the book I wanted (The Four Agreements). I confirmed the paperback cost and it was $5 more than an online source. I let her know that instead of going to another store, I would just order it online. She quickly jumped in and said, "No need." Looked up some details and was able to order it online for me, while I was in the store and even got me free shipping. I love being able to walk into a store and interact with people. Ugh, I don't really want to give an actual bookstore 3 stars but I can't bring myself to give them 4. My main issue with this location is the organization. It's so difficult to find things. I even asked for help from one of the staff, who was super helpful by the way, but they also were unable to find the book I was looking for even though the computer's inventory shows this location had the book. It was disappointing. I want to give business to an actual store not going online but if your own staff can't find the book maybe the organization should be improved upon. read more

It's the McDonalds of bookstores and one store feels like the other. They have a fairly good selection of everything but you pay retail, obviously. Philosophy section is well stocked as is the travel, and history sections. Magazines are plentiful with lots of different interests and hobbies. It's an entrance to the mall so there is a lot of foot traffic in and out but it can be relaxing and quiet in certain areas. There is a Starbucks connected to the store. I am a member and it is pretty awesome to get the coupons and discounts - sometimes when I purchase a book I'll go sit in the cafe and I will study here too when I'm in the area. Like seriously, they would prefer you stand in their store, place the order online, and they go to retrieve the product that you just had in hand to buy yourself. The absolute worst location- I was waiting in line to purchase a journal, decided I didn't want it anymore, and left the line; returning the journal to its appropriate location (on a shelf where I originally found it). As I turned away from the display shelf to leave the store, an employee stormed up to me with an incredibly rude demeanor, demanding to see the inside of my bag and repeatedly quoting the Arizona statute that doesn't allow a customer to carry merchandise in personal bags. I was taken aback, obviously, as I had not stolen anything and had literally just put the merchandise back where I had found it, but of course complied with the employee and let him see the inside of my bag to show that I was, in fact, not carrying around merchandise or trying to steal. EVEN AFTER seeing the inside of my bag which confirmed that I didn't steal anything, the employee continued to accuse me of stealing, repeating the law over and over again (lmao okay bro) in an incredibly rude tone, and not listening to me say I put any merchandise I was carrying (IN MY HANDS NOT IN MY BAG BECAUSE IM NOT STUPID LMAO) back on the shelf. So sad that dude on a power trip ruined this location for me forever as it was my main one, hopefully their employees know now not to accuse customers of stealing so casually, unprofessionally and with no proof:'( read more

Such an awful experience here. I was given a gift that cost $30. I wanted a different one - was actually going to spend more. Because I didn't have a gift receipt they said they could only give me $15. The price is ON the item. Hello? They said there was nothing they could do - even though the item right in front of them said $30 I just had to accept that I couldn't get the full price of the item - it was still wrapped in the plastic and everything. I love this BN location in that they have an excellent language section. 8 years ago I picked up my first Tagalog book here and was the first step in a long but rewarding journey towards fluency. Now I am embarking on a new challenge to learn German as a third language and I was pleased to find a plethora of books on same from which to choose. Sehr gut! I like this place. An actual book store with books. I guess I am old fashioned. I like to turn a page and hold a book. I just do. I listen to CDs too. Now days I guess that makes me an old man and out of date. Fine I'll be out date if that is what it means. I also like, dirty little secret, to smell the pages sometimes. Something about that smell. It is like ground coffee. I just like it. The prices aren't too bad plus you can actually look at the books before you buy them and you have them instantly instead of having to wait for them to be shipped to you. It is a huge place which sometimes makes it hard to find exactly what you are looking for but the friendly staff is more than willing to help you out and point you in the right direction. The help desk was overloaded and it took forever to ask a simple question of where a section of books was located. The starbucks cafe was a joke. I totally understand they are not a fully functional Starbucks, but that is no excuse for poor service. The gals behind the counter were slow AND rude?! Will not return :( read more
