Although Stephen King is a best seller, his books haven't been located in front. Not even on the endcaps. So I had to ask for help. One book I noticed that was on display right when you walk in, was a book from 2018. Three years ago. Maybe someone from B&N can explain THAT to me? Or perhaps the employees want customer interaction when everyone has to ask for the book? So we'll see when I go back on Aug 3 when the next SK book is released. read more

The closet one near my house....which is still pretty far. So whenever I stop by the 24HF in Glendora, I come by here. Luckily, in the middle of a big shopping center with lots to do and lots to eat, parking is great. Also, service is wonderful. The guy reminded me about my teachers rewards program which helped alot because I just bought tons of word search books and soduku books to work on during the summer. Well come back to visit when I have the chance so I can pick up a book and just get lost in it. read more

I came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm and this store was poppin with a bunch of people at the cafe and browsing the books. They have a ton of new releases and classics, home merchandise (like decor and simple, finishing touches), and games (boardgames, etc.). The line can be very slow which is why it loses a star but the cashiers are very friendly. read more

Update to my review below: My negative review still holds true. I went to another B&N location and they did not need my credit card used on the receipt to do an even exchange for the same items. They said the manager and cashier at the Glendora location either didn't know their own company policy or were just being difficult jerks. I believe it was the later. Original post (11/27/17) It's a shame I have to write this negative review because at first the manager was helpful. However he poorly handled my transaction. Barnes and Noble in general has a bad return policy, but this was also poorly dealt with by cashier and manager. I purchased some items online that arrived damaged (often happens with my BN online purchases; I guess the real moral is not to purchase with this company anymore), and brought it into the store unopened with the box packaging and the original packing slip receipt. I chose the store exchange because I did not want my items to arrive damaged in the mail again. However this store location would not allow me to do an exchange for the EXACT same items because I did not have the credit card used to purchase on-hand and therefore they could not verify that "I was the one who made the purchase." If I 1) have my ID with the address that matches the shipping receipt 2) I have the original receipt with the items unopened and 3) can pull up the email confirmation on my phone, then I am clearly the "one who made the purchase." And I should be able to do a simple even exchange for the same exact items. But they would not allow it. I've worked in retail and it's a generally a simple process (allocate store credit and match the online price); I believe they were just being difficult. The cashier (didn't get his name but with the fauxhawk) even had to ask me questions about the abbreviations on the receipt as if I would know their Barnes and Nobel abbreviation codes better than he as an employee would... I will be staying away from future Barnes and Nobel online and in store purchases and I hope there is better company training on a simple exchange process so that others like me do not waste an hour of their day. read more

1. The cafe is NOT a Starbucks! They happen to serve their coffee but they're Barnes & Noble Cafe. 2. If you have a Barnes & Noble membership card you are able to receive a discount on your cafe items. 3. The staff is amazing! 4. They have outstanding customer service. 5. I've been coming to this Barnes and noble since 2008. And since their opening I have always had a pleasant experience. 6. Some good tips: a. Don't sit on the floors. When you block the isles it makes it hard for me/shoppers to browse through books. b. It's a big book store but they don't carry every single book published. So you might have to order your book if it's not in demand. c. Don't grab a stack of books and sit somewhere to read them. It's not a LIBRARY! Therefore, the books that you're casually skimming through and not planning to buy ... could be a book someone else was searching for.There have been times where I'm looking for a particular book but the booksellers have a hard time finding the last copy because people like to sit with stacks of books they are not planning on purchasing. So please DONT be that person. D. Lastly... if you're one of those people who like to sit down and have 20 book titles (without an intention of purchasing all of them) ...at least put the books back where you got them from. Or give them to the customer service people. I hate looking through books and noticing 20 "fitness "book titles in the photography section... who does that?! If that's you ..... STOP IT!! Some of us actually like to shop at this bookstore so STOP disorganizing the store. This just creates chaos and makes it hard for the booksellers/customer service to find books for us. e. I almost forgot... last time I was in the store I witness a crazy, obnoxious and pretentious person disrespect a bookseller. I could not believe the things that came out of that persons mouth. I have just had the worst experience I've ever had at a Starbucks or Barnes and Noble. I come in the store occasionally to have some dessert after the gym. As soon as I walk in, I am greeted by some dirty looks from 'Kate' who has blonde hair. She gave me a disrespectful attitude as I was ordering my refreshment and dessert. I immeditely felt a great amount of hostility from her for whatever reason she might've had. I feel like as if I've been a victim of discrimination. Does a long time returning customer of the Barnes and Noble/Starbucks franchise deserve this? Furthermore, as I was eagerly waiting for my drink to enjoy with my dessert, my name was not written on my refreshment, and it had been sitting on the counter for what seemed to be 10 minutes until I saw it with my own eyes sitting there. My name was not announced and I had to go up and ask if it was my drink. Again, with her disrespectful attitude, she replied "yes" in a very rude tone. If that's not bad enough, the whole time I was there, I recieved numerous dirty looks coming from Kate. I felt as if I wasn't welcome because of the color of my skin; hopefully that's not the case. First, I'd like to start by saying this Barnes & Noble is clean, friendly, and overall a good book store (bit pricey- but it is a chain). I only have an issue with the way the books are presented. I was in the shop, browsing around, when I noticed the Non-Fiction section. The non-fiction section is meant for books based on facts and true events - so you can imagine my disbelief when I saw a stack of C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity". Yes, really. Giving the book the benefit of the doubt, I read on hoping it was some kind of autobiography of life events. Instead, I was met with an audacious claim that Christianity could be logically and scientifically defended. I left the store immediately. The store has every right to sell ANY type of book, as it should. But if I'm looking for non-fiction - I want to find non-fiction. Religious books belong in the religious section, just as cooking books belong in the cooking section and books about sex belong in the sex section. I truly hope this was an error made by a staff member that unfortunately got missed. read more

Every time I visit this store, I seem to find all that I'm looking for and more. The place is big and lots of room to sit and enjoy different books with my son. Friendly and helpful staff. I've never had an issue with this B&N, and I'm here a lot! I go here around once a week to peruse the selection and get lost for an hour or two. The customer service is great, both on the floor and in the Satrbucks. Everyone is so friendly and really go out of their way to help you out. A friend and I were looking for a specific book and they didn't have it in store. They made it a point to call around to other stores and eventually order it online for us. There were a million things going on while they did this like a phone that wouldn't stop ringing and customers asking questions, but they kept their cool and handled the situation like it was nothing. I'm a member and I love that shipping is free and that discounts vary between good and amazing every time I'm there. The store is generally on the clean side and parking is rarely an issue. I've studied here until closing and wasn't rushed out at all. Great place! read more

YES it's today and i been treat terribly by this girl Julie (or Judy) at the check-out counter. First all, not only she didnt greet me or anything when i am standing there at the waiting line... she completely ignore me for at least 5 min and when i come up and ask her if she is available she gave me this look like i annoyed her from her day dream... after paying, i asked her if she can gift wrap the stuff i brought. She say "NO!" but her manager was there when i asked again, she agreed to do it then give me attitude by throwing my gift ups and down. i am so afraid to check if my gift is broken or not because of what she did... i am sooo piss but it was a nice sunny day so i dont want my good mood to ruin it because her. so this is why i am here review it. I ordered a book online last night and was excited to see the email notification that the book was ready for pickup this morning. Unfortunately, when I went to the stores register to pick it up and pay, they could not find it. I waited 30+ minutes and then went to customer service where they told me the book was at the register. I go back to the register to check if they had found it and another cashier said to go back to customer service. I told her I just came back from there and they told me it was up here! She looked again and the book had been sitting there all along! Defeated the purpose of ordering online for a quick in-store pickup. I talked to the manager, Tim, and he was useless. The store is pretty good and could be worthy of 5 stars. I appreciate that there is a sufficient variety of non-book items that finding a gift is fairly easy. However, to be better than average, it is my opinion the store falls short in two areas. I shopped the afternoon of June 5. I am a grandmother and was looking for a cook book for young children. To speed my visit, I stopped at the information booth for location assistance. Two female employees sharing a personal conversation took several minutes to get to me. I don't expect jump to service, but that was rude and I certainly didn't feel "The customer comes first." To that end, I wasn't told where to find the books I was walked to the location. :) Chairs? No chairs???? I needed to review several books before purchasing but standing in the isle became physically difficult for me. I asked where I could sit to look at the books. I was told across the store at the coffee shop, which was packed. I guess most people know what they want so, simply select and buy making a quick in and out trip. For those of us who need to shop, some single chairs here and there would be of great assistance. While you are likely to find something you are interested in, it is not a comfortable place to browse or hope for quick service. read more

I can stay here for hours. It's not too crowded and it's super organized. The workers are really helpful and nice. There is a Starbucks on site and they serve delicious sandwiches along with their well-known coffees and teas. You can sit on any of the several couches and read a book for free. I ordered something online and when it wasn't the exact thing I ordered, I was able to make a quick and easy exchange with no questions asked. I go here a few times a month and always walk out with one or two books. Their movie selection is pretty dope, too, with a decent collection of foreign films. read more

This is one of the larger Barnes & Noble locations. Spacious and clean. They have a large coffee area, clean restrooms, and a large selection of books. They also have free Wi-Fi. Outlets are covered, so make sure that you have an ample amount of battery. Nice location, but wish they offered more discounts. They tend to be on the pricey side. I don't have a problem with ordering a drink in order to work on my computer in the cafe. But I think it is utterly ridiculous that they cover up the outlets. When I asked why, they simply stated that using them to charge your computer wasn't allowed. What does that even mean? The manager had also approached me another time for sitting down on the floor in a completely empty section. I explained to her that I didn't like hearing all of the construction going on in the cafe. She just shrugged and walked away. This is why they are loosing business to amazon. This B&N is not as crowded as the one In West Covina. (not yet at least) I am at this location at least once or twice a week to read or pick up a new book. The staff has been friendly and all the times I have gone, someone has offered assistance. There are always good areas to sit down and enjoy a book/mag with a cup of coffee, the sofa chairs are usually available (I do go later in the evening, maybe thats why its more peaceful and less crowded =p) Very convenient, only a 5 min drive down the street...=p read more

They have Starbucks - PLUS 100 PTS Seating - better seating than others i've been to, considering that, it's still hard to find a place to sit. Ambiance - kind of loud.. lots of teens talking to each others, if not that, then on their phones. One negative about starbucks is the noise from the machines. It's nice though when the surroundings are a bit calmer.. very pleasant for enjoying a good book. Service - generally pretty good, I don't remember the last time we asked for help.. but I don't think we have any complaints. Someone who was just a customer even helped with suggestions and recommendations lol. Not the most polite employees I've ever come across. I have spent hundreds of dollars here, buy from the cafe regularly and still get made uncomfortable if I chose to sit and read a book. The location isn't as well stocked as some of the other ones. Conversely. they do seem to have a good selection of items and novelties. I would definitely recommend buying online if possible. So we go there to buy books, go to Starbucks get my favorite Carmen macc upside down with wihp cream. Mmmmmmm yum yum. I went here to buy a particular cookbook as a Christmas present. They had only one copy which was on the shelf with dog-eared edges and a worn out look, front and back. I told the lady who was helping me that this was a present and I needed a better copy than that and she said I could have 15% off the asking price of $35, or else I could order another copy. I told her that I would prefer to order it online from a more reputable book seller and walked out of the store. Don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon. Shoddy customer service! read more
