I love coming to Daiso, which is a Japanese discount store similar to Dollar Tree, but many of the items are actually from Japan. In front of the store, they have their seasonal items, which I noticed were Halloween and Christmas together in two small island rows. The store is large and well-organized. I found a lot of stuff and usually I buy my disposable chopsticks and also sponges from here. Overall I think they have a great selection of beauty, kitchen, food, and random other items that you can find! I also bought a Christmas tree pet costume for my doggie and I can't wait for Christmas together come! Their store policy is that nothing is refundable and everything is final sale! So check your items before you leave and happy hunting! Oh yeah and sometimes they do carry a lot of cute Hello Kitty items as well. read more

I love coming to Daiso because of the cute and cool selections and the prices aren't bad, either. Employees are super nice and do their best to help you find things if you ask for help. I love coming here for their snacks and their stationery supplies. If you're a collector, I highly recommend checking out the back of the store for display cases. I currently have one in my office for my figurines, and I always get compliments on it. They do rotate items regularly, so if you see something and you're contemplating getting it, get it right then and there. read more

Visited on Sunday, 07/17/22 for the first time. I had no idea that there is a Daiso in San Dimas! This Daiso location is particularly smaller compared to all the other Daisos I've been to, however this place literally has everything we were looking for in stock. The one in Chino Hills is a hit or miss, sometimes not everything you're looking for is in stock. All the prices seem to be the same compared to the other Daisos. Overall 4/5. read more

Prices have gone up - just lik3 everywhere else. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty inexpensive for most everything. If it's not labeled with a price sticker, then the item is $1.75. They have a little bit of everything from kitchen supplies to gardening, to stationary/school supplies and snacks. You get a little bit better quality than the dollar stores and they have lots of cute things. I like coming to Daiso's in different areas because some items differ depending on the location. This Daiso location is located in the same plaza as Target and 5 Below, specially next to Party City and Trader Joe's with plenty of parking. This location is smaller than some of the other Daiso stores but still has the general things that you may be looking for. If you are new to Daiso, it is kind of like a 99 cent store but sells mostly products made in Japan (please note that they also do sell things made in China) and most items cost $1.50. But there are some items that cost more but are marked. What brought me to this store on my most recent visit was popsicle molds. I just recently have been getting into making my own fruit popsicles since its just so hot and was looking for another silicone popsicle to add to my collection. I ended up finding a teddy bear popsicle mold and was the last one. I guess it must be towards the end of the season for summer items. Anyways, Daiso currently has their Disney line out if you want to purchase cute Disney items (dishware, kitchen, school supplies, etc). Daiso is always a fun store. If I lived closer to this location, I would probably be here more often (I frequent the location in Arcadia more). read more

I have been here a couple times. Love this store. I like having access to their snacks without having to drive far to my usual japanese market place. The store is always clean and in order. Friendly staff and even during Covid they have kept good with social distancing and being proactive in only letting so man people in at once. One person comes out the next can go in. Parking is in the market place area. Usually pretty good. I am handicap so i've never had a problem with the parking right near the store. Definitely come in a check out all the goodies and home essentials. read more

Okay, so you may not find the best quality stuff here, or the healthiest, but considering the price you pay for each thing, you do get a bit more than what you pay for. I can't vouch for the ethical nature of the products or the quality, but for the cheap-y things you use on a daily basis, whether it's a bargain-priced eyeliner, kitchen utensils, facial wipes, nail polish, or just about every other everyday necessity, you'll find a fair amount of each for under $5. The store is tidy & well-organized, with a seasonal section, & an entire wall dedicated to the not-so-healthy, all-time-favorite Japanese snacks such as Pocky, & Ramune (a cool-looking Japanese soda). With prices this cheap, it's easy to go overboard, though, & they still charge tax, so keep that in mind when deciding on what to "splurge" on when visiting the store. And if you still don't know what to expect, think of a tiny Japanese version of Walmart, & you'll have a pretty good idea of what it's like. Happy (bargain) hunting! read more

I have no choice but to leave this 1 star review. I had stopped by Party City next door to pick something up and decided to browse in here. I found some curtains that I thought I could use and so I bought two of them. Right after I purchased them, like literally 5 seconds had passed, I noticed that I got the wrong size on one of them. I actually wanted 2 of the vertical style. Same color, same pattern, same price, but just different dimensions/direction of curtain panel. I asked if I could simply swap out for the correct size. I was then told that they do not do any returns, exchanges or anything like that and that all sales are final. I asked again if they could just simply do a swap out. No, they could not. We are talking about $1.50, $1.64 with tax. So I said, fine, I will pay for the correct one. After I paid for the correct panel, I noticed that the sales clerk had taken the first incorrect panel I purchased and set it aside, completely out of my reach. I asked her why I only had two panels after I had essentially paid for three of them. She said "I thought you didn't want it." What???? So I'm going to gift you this item now? I'm going to pay for something and give it back to the store so they can "return" it to the shelf? I can't believe the lack of customer service. It would have been so simple to just swap out the panels. Why give someone a hard time over this? Daiso has lost a customer here and I cannot and will not recommend this store ever again. On top of that, the customer that was before me in line asked this sales clerk a very simple question about when they get shipments. The sales clerk answered with "We are not in control of shipments or what comes in the shipments." Um, hello, that was not her question. No customer service skills. And telling me that you are "so sorry" does not help. You are not sorry. If you wanted to actually help, you would have swapped out the panels. Never again Daiso. I will never shop at any Daiso ever again. It was not about the money, it was about the lack of helpfulness. read more

If I see a Daiso I'm going in even if I don't need anything. That being said this location was VERY clean and well-stocked. If you're a fan of BTS or Sanrio they have the collaboration goods here. They also have the mop stick I've been looking for but the wipes were not here ;A; Didn't know that Daiso raised their prices from $1.50 to $1.75 but its understandable since Dollar Tree did the same due to the pandemic. Pay attention to the signs for the yen conversions since not all items are $1.75! If you want some quality goods for a low price, check out Daiso! Went in shopped with my kids for a few things. Got to the register, was going to pay with a $100 and the cashier says sorry we cant give you change for $100 unless you spend $50 or more. I was dumbfounded. I was spending $34, its not like I was spending a dollar. So irritated, so we left everything at the register and had to leave. I can't believe this store would let you leave and lose out on sales over giving change to a customer. What kind of store does that? I just don't get it. Ridiculous! I ordered notebooks from the Daiso website and realized too late I ordered/received the wrong item. There wasn't time for me to order the correct item (100 of them) and I couldn't secure enough at stores around our area. These were for an event at the university where I work. When I reached out to Nancy at the San Dimas store, she took it on herself to try her best to get me the correct items from the warehouse. Between her and Madeline (at the warehouse), they were able to arrange a next day delivery from the warehouse to the store. I picked them up and the new student activity went off "without a hitch." I felt their service was out of the ordinary. I am thankful. read more

Store was ok. My first time visiting a Daiso location. Not sire what the hype is, especial after seeing the hype in Hawai'i and elsewhere. The aisles are way too narrow for having empty shelves just chilling, and the check out area is too cramped for having more than one register. A lot of the make up looks super cheap and bad (but it's like $1.50 so what do you expect?) and the pencils area is not that great. Same stuff, or worse, that you'd find at your local 99 cent store. They do have some really cute bathroom and kitchen things, so I'd go back just to buy the home goods. read more

This location is smaller than others I've visited. The staff is meh, and the selection is hit and miss. But there are a few items I really like. First of all, if you get a chance, TRY THE RAMUNES! They are a hidden gem. Strawberry and grape are my favs :) Some items leave you asking, why?! But every now and again they have some pretty cool stuff. Some of the makeup is pretty good considering the price and there is always great novelty gifts. Occasionally their seasonal stuff is a good deal as well. Only recently have I wandered into Daiso, and I've lived in San Dimas for quite a while. Nestled between Party City and Lucky Feet, this cute little emporium of goods has become my go to. The displays are a little lacking, especially the stationary. I, myself, am into calligraphy and the lost art of sending snail mail so seeing that the section was so empty disappointed me. In accordance to this, I was dismayed to find out that I could not place a special order! And why? Because the manager was in possession of the iPad. Often, I catch wind of her mistreat not only her employees but the customers as well. Despite all of this, the cashiers were so delightful. They assisted me in locating items around the store as there is quite a variety of trinkets to look at. As for the workers stocking inventory they were very knowledgable and helped me to the best of their ability. For the most part, with the few exceptions listed above, the staff are friendly and understanding. Overall, my experience with this Daiso was a 4 out of 5 because of the customer service I received. I only wish that there wasn't so much overstock. I would like to see new items! read more

Located in a busy plaza where Trader Joe's and target is located. I came to this particular location because all the stores I needed to go to was in the same shopping plaza, made things a lot easier for me. I was looking for a particular item however I browsed around and it seemed like they needed some help restocking because I only saw one person on the floor and the shelves were kinda empty and messy. I was walking up and down the aisles trying to locate the hair catchers for your bathtub and no one bothered to ask if I needed help(I'm pretty sure I looked lost). Upon checking out the cashier rang me up and she was whatever about it. I've been to other locations such as the one in hacienda heights and the workers are super nice, they hand your receipt with two hands, etc. You know, the proper Japanese style if you will. This store in particular was just meh. There is definitely some room for improvement. Some products are useful, I love their kitchen items. They're super cute and useful with lots of baking items. I love their eyebrow pencils (I use it everyday) as well as their cotton pads which I use to remove my make up with. However, it's easy to spend money on things you don't necessarily need. read more

In all fairness, I'm not one to shop at dollar stores and their ilk, so I'm probably not the best person to rate this store in comparison to other stores. However, I have to say that they do a great job of merchandising their products, without the clutter and co-mingling of stray products that you see at other dollar stores. The store is well lit and immaculately organized, which immediately makes the experience that much better. My only real knock on this place is that all sales are final. Fortunately, the items are priced low enough so that policy isn't really all that big of a deal. read more
