So They Did Away W/ The Educator's 20% On Each AND Every Book For Your Class- But They Got This. Beggars Can't Be Choosers.

I love bookstores. From the scent of the paper to the world of words hidden between covers, I can spend hours (depends on time) browsing. Then curling up at home in my sofa and getting lost in the pages of a book. Thank heavens this long-awaited Barnes & Noble opened at the Dalewood Shopping Ctr in Hartsdale and has been a breath of fresh air and closer to me. One person wrote about this B&N being restroom-free. She's right. Guess what? Use it at home. While some folks feel it's critical for any business to have public restrooms, this B&N location stipulates that they're not required to have one- only for employees. Her second complaint: no beverages. She's right again. I even wanted to sit a bit with a Chai or tea- and there's no such thing. Don't matter because Paris Baguette is just 2 doors down. Anyhow, this layout has a lot of nooks and crannies and partitions when you're roaming from section to section. The lighting needs to be a bit warmer than what it is- but that's just me. It has almost every travel book imaginable, covers almost everything from fashion, has all the children's classics, girl empowerment picture books, cookbooks, fiction and non, wrapping paper, small accessories, famous narratives- even down to those well-known funny gift items by the cash registers. It's almost all here. Staff is great and helpful- especially when I couldn't find my 5 yr old grand niece a book. On another good note I guess, B&N got their hands on a reward system program where you earn points towards a $5 discount after several purchases. Really not much- but hey. This B&N doesn't have ALL the bells and whistles that other major locations have- but this one is a treat in these neck of the woods.

New location, clean smell.. great selection of books, small magazine section. Children's area is decently sized, limited seating, no rest rooms or cafe. Small vinyl selection. Adequate gift selections. Limited puzzles, small business section. New store with lots to choose from, nice flow with tall shelving. But no restrooms? Not enough seating and no beverages.

I would like to start off by saying the aesthetic of this Barnes and Nobles is fantastic. He is unaware of his surroundings and usually requires to be called over to receive any attention. But the worst part is that he never lets us split the check. He claims that because me and my group only ordered "one entree" that it is not possible to split the check. But with other waiters, we have been able to split the check. So if you attend the restaurant, be prepared for great food but beware of splitting the check if the tall man is your waiter.

Good overall location…read more Don't let the outside throw you off - it looks small from the outside, but once you head down with either an escalator or an elevator, you can see the full size of this location. You can also access this from the side of the building down a flight of stairs. This one was busier than other locations I went to, though this was also on a weekend which might explain it. It's standard as far as what Barnes & Noble generally carries. What they don't have, they can always order for you. If you're looking for blu ray/DVDs, you won't find any here at all - which is a bit disappointing. They do have vinyl though. Only had interaction with one employee and he was friendly. Most others I saw were with customers. Located in the Vernon Hills Shopping Center mall, there is plenty of parking. It's a generally busy shopping area, so use caution in the lot. A good location, but I don't see myself coming back here unless I'm in the immediate area and need to.

They both called and texted to let me know it had arrived. The service is extremely helpful. Nestled among some charming boutiques, restaurants, and specialty shops, Bronx River Books offers a good range of classic, contemporary, and local authors. It is well-stocked besides neatly organized and stacked. It has easily become one of my favorites stops when in town.

I discovered many new and exciting authors there like Yaa Gyasi "Homegoing" and Imbolo Mbue "Behold the Dreamers" and Ngugi Wa Thiong'o "Wizard of the Crow". What's not to love? This is a PHYSICAL bookstore. Please support it as one of the now few…read morebookstores (due to amazon). I've been visiting this business for years. Over that 10+ year time span, I cannot think of one complaint about this store. It's located in White Plains' City Center, on the first floor, next to Nordstrom Rack. Thus, they have a very large parking lot but like most garages, you do pay a small fee for your parking. If on foot, they also have a second entrance - A door on Main Street. I've often jumped out of the car while a friend parks, because of that door. They have a fantastic variety and stock of books. They have tons of magazines. There is a section that is well organized and full of discounted books. They also have quite a large area for children's books. The store is very well organized and maintained so their books are where they belong and the appearance is a tidy one. They also have a sectioned off area dedicated to all things music, although I have not shopped there. I also have only positive things to say about the staff and their helpfulness. They have a particularly nice cafe area. They serve all of Starbucks' drinks and coffee (i.e. lattes, frappuccinos, etc.). Yet, they don't sell Starbucks snacks and it isn't an actual Starbucks. They sell slices from The Cheesecake Factory and also an array of other baked goods. I love their lemon bars and rustic apple tarts. Because the cafe is part of Barnes and Noble, you can get your order discounted if you are a member of the store. I often meet a friend here, for coffee. It is rare to find the tables all in use. It's a way more laid back, and easily accessible, cafe, than is Starbucks. The barista/workers are always friendly and aren't doing things a mile a minute like at Starbucks. The cafe also sell ground bags of coffee, nice teas, Godiva chocolate, current and nice looking water bottles, such as those by Swell. There is a section of the store, next to the cafe, that is full of, for lack of a better word, accessories. It has a good amount of gift items (and items for yourself). It has journals and phone decorative pieces. They also have unique and pretty pens, pencase holders, laptop related items, just to name a few. During the holidays, this is where they have many festive items here. Please come! Shop! Let's not lose another bookstore!
