This was my first time visiting The Westchester mall and I was very impressed! They have a mix of high end and other retail shops. It's a lot larger than I thought, so be prepared to get your steps in. I love that parking is only a $4 flat rate. I do wish they had more of a food selection though. read more

So every year I used to take my children to the Easter bunny so now I'm doing it for my grandchildren at the Westchester, which is a beautiful luxurious mall with my only complaint about this place is unfortunately, the way the floors are is completely confusing, especially with children at toe and my girlfriend has special needs and crutches. It's a bit much to get everywhere so if you're seeing the bunny and want to go to P.F. Chang's, which we did, it's a bit of a mess if you wanna call and look around perfect, but if you're trying to just get the day done, you might be there well unless you memorize them all.. don't get me wrong. I enjoyed myself got beautiful pictures for the kids. Had a nice dinner and did a little shopping while waiting for the money to come up to five with a reservation to make your life easier to see the bunny himself. read more

The Westchester was a discovery many years back, which had a major renovation. The mall looks friendly and appealing, upscale and high-end, compared to other malls in the Hudson Valley. This mall ties in with Woodbury Common I would say. There are many stores and services to offer with three floors that stick out with everyone's interests, the variety is endless here. The food court upstairs on the fourth level is pretty decent, with a lot of seating, plus an outdoor patio which is neat to see. Overall, they did a nice job with the renovation, and looks clean. Parking was not an issue, which does require a $3 dollar fee and comes with a ticket. Putting the ticket in the machine while leaving was annoying, as it wasn't taking it. I then pushed for assistance and then it worked, which was odd. Something needs to be addressed about that. I see this mall thriving in the years. read more

I love the Shake shack here for food and the Forever 21 for shopping but saw a mouse run across the floor in the foodcourt section, which makes me rethink my choice to eat here. The mall is getting two stars because I called to confirm hours and the hours over the phone were listed until 9pm. They closed at 7pm (as listed on yelp but I wanted to be sure) When you have high end stores you need to update your hours. We parked our car and a security person saw we went in without at least giving us warning it was closed. Still had to pay $3 for parking and we were only there 10 minutes. read more

Love this place. The newly renovated food court has lots of great options. There are plenty of seats, tables, and lounging areas in this new section of the food court. I also love how the mall has been redone ie. the floors, the carpet was (mostly) removed and the inside of the mall is very well lit with natural lighting. The only complaint I have is the parking. It is very difficult to park here and to access the mall from the garage. read more

When I was younger, my favorite book series was The Clique, which documented the life and times of privileged teens living in Westchester. First off, I thought Westchester was a fictional place. Second off, their antics usually cumulated in scene-y dramas at the Westchester Mall, again which I thought was a work of fiction. How excited was I, then, when I was invited to attend a Yelp Hudson Valley Elite Event that was to take place at the (very real) Westchester Mall?! I think this is the nicest mall I've ever been to. It's even ritzier than the Natick Collections in Massachusetts, which has been my go-to mall for years. We decided to come here a few hours before the event was set to begin and take a look around. They have every designer boutique you could ever want to browse around in, plus an impressive Food Hall (the bourgeois answer to a Food Court). The mall is very aesthetically pleasing, with lots of natural light spilling in from aerial windows, gorgeous fountains, and comfortable seating should you need to take a break from your shopping adventures. I was very impressed, and look forward to coming back here soon! read more

Stopped here on a Sunday while looking for some things to do and being in the N.Y. area. I can say the easiest part of this was parking, and at $3 it should have been easy. Having to pay to park in a mall is nonsense. Period. There are a long list of stores here but I felt like there were some missing that usually are a given with malls - one being H&M. Most of the space here is filled with just a couple of vacancies. It is very clean, the bathrooms are marble, on the fancier side, and very clean; with their staff also being quite helpful. read more

The parking lot is a scam. They deliberately fudge the time when you get in and get out so you're never there less than 15 min. I got it at 2:03, parking garage said I was there until 2:28. This is a weird mall. It may just be that at this point American malls as an institution are weird, but let me explain to you why this mall in particular is weird. They have a lot of high end-y stores, but like most high end stores, they don't really expect their store fronts to make a profit so they mostly just exist as advertising for their online stuff. What this means, is that this is a mall full of stores that are pretty under stocked and like the only reason I go to a store is because I need to see the product, maybe try it on, etc soooooo if all their actual stuff is basically all online then the store is mostly a waste of space then it's (mostly) a waste of my time shopping here. And because there are so many high end stores most of the people who shop here think they're very cool and great - which makes shopping here that much more unpleasant. But like it's a mall, so if you're determined to spend money you'll find something, the food court has an ok selection and good coffee, and I've not had any problems with staff here. {Review For The Westchester's 'Savor' Food Court} As much as I love to shop, my visits to The Westchester, are pretty much in and out. I zip through several of my favorite shops, buy what I have to and out I go- that's just me. And grabbing anything to eat here, was never, ever in my path. I personally can't compare what the Food Court here on the 4th Floor looked liked- but my daughter's jaw dropped when she actually noticed Savor's layout recently. Even when she worked at American Eagle 7 years ago- she mentioned the food court never looked this good- in fact, it just looked crummy. There used to be a Nathan's and a bunch of other lower quality, greasy food stands that just didn't add any ritz to The Westchester's flair- at all. But in the last year-2, Savor made way for really unique eats like Bluestone Lane, Whitman's, Hai Street Kitchen and a few others......plus their newest baby- The Little Beet- which I'm so into! Really like the seating arrangement and airiness in this area. I wouldn't mind hanging out here! Seriously, I don't think I've ever been excited to buy a meal from a mall- let alone sit down and eat it there, but this Food Court will rightfully do. And so awesome that these restaurants in The Westchester are really digging their heels here. Very sophisticated indeed. And no...you can't make a reservation- just come and enjoy. read more

Some of my favorites were the apple store bose ben & jerrys starbucks brookstone godiva lego these are just the stores I like there are literally hundreds of stores well laid out and clean. I've been coming for years and this is by far my favorite mall. Compared to the nearby Galleria, this is a more upscale mall with stores such as Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, and Tory Burch. The mall is separated into 3 levels main levels with a smaller 4th floor; most floors are carpeted. The have classical music playing throughout the mall, and the colors are whites and beiges which give off a neutral yet bright tone. One huge drawback is the food court - it's terrible. Half the stands are closed and the whole area looks very makeshift compared to the rest of the mall. You can argue that people shopping here won't be dining in a mall food court, but still for such a high-end mall I expected more. Go to nearby PF Changs, the Cheesecake Factory, or Whole Foods if you're looking for something to eat while shopping. Many tenants have come and gone over the years but for the most part the Westchester stays true to form. read more

I would give the overall mall a 3 star but due to my experience at one of the stores I will have to give it a 1 star.So I really like the brand "Free people" and I went to check it out the other day, the two white ladies that work there were not pleasant at all. They both looked at me like I didn't belong there . I think that if they don't see someone who is not white , they stare and they didn't even greet me, I HAD to greet them and I'm the customer. .. I could definitely see the difference they made with other customers who were white. Whoever this woman is she pretends to be nice and pleasant but she really isn't. You will find stores such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Kate Spade, Abercrombie, Apple, Coach, Gucci, and many more. Basically, it is a collection of stores you would typically see on Fifth Avenue. However, they do have some more affordable brands like Urban Outfitters and Under Armour as well. It is a medium size mall and is easy to navigate - the place is basically an L shape. Most confusing mall I've ever been to. Parking garage which charges $3 is extremely confusing. Must pay by machine but couldn't find one. Some elevators you can get into shopping area others on same level you can't so you're stuck in garage area. Very few directories to find the store you want and confusing directions even when you find one. They want you to scan a code with your phone to get digital directory. Didn't bother. Some escalators broken all the time. Elevators very slow. Handicap elevator to get up steps broken. Fire alarm went off for no reason driving everybody nuts. I've read it happens alot. A safe, clean mall with a large number of high end stores but you can still find some bargains and it makes for a very pleasant shopping experience, especially with Nordstrom on one end and Neiman Marcus on the other. It doesn't usually feel very busy or overcrowded which is nice. We've been coming here since the kids were small and even though they've made some questionable choices with the food court (it felt more lively and was more popular before the overhaul), the Westchester is a really great go-to for a bit of shopping and a coffee. read more

Ok- the stores are great, however the mall is overall not great at all. Here is why: Poor signage all around the mall makes it hard to find the stores you want to go to, or even what is available. This make restrooms difficult to find as well as the food court( which is terrible) Dirty Restrooms- Management needs to make sure these areas are checked and cleaned EVERY HOUR Parking- Parking employees directing traffic on busy days won't let you go over to the valet section, but direct traffic to parking areas that are open, but further away from retail levels, even when much parking is available on those levels. The parking payment machines are almost impossible to use if you do not have your glasses , instructions are not on all machines. Food court options are few, not very good and quite expensive. I would not mind the high price if the food was good, but it is not good at all. Very greasy or over seasoned. Low paid employees don't care if you like the food I guess. Better option is the Neiman Marcus restaurant or Nordstrom Restaurants- these are much better but also high priced. Poor WiFi and call reception. Use the restrooms at the anchor stores, they are much cleaner, and they will offer free bottled water if you are shopping there. Valet parking is worth the money on busy days for the 5-10 dollars extra Not enough exit signs in the parking areas to tell you what street options to exit to. Not enough seating, Many people just take up a seating area for an hour or more like it is their own home. More benches are necessary for tired people needing a break from walking with heavy packages. I would really appreciate a service where someone would meet me at a store and take my bag to a central location that could be picked up later with help to my car. I would stay longer and buy more. The mall itself is clean and nice. It's usually quiet and empty except for Halloween when it was bustling with families and eager children. In the future, please don't advertise this as a trick-or-treating event. It will lead to very sad and disappointed children. We arrived at 5 (while advertised as 3-8pm trick-or-treating) and probably 3/4ths of the stores had signs such as "no more candy", "boo no more goodies" or the most tacky one from one store "no more candy, but your parents can still shop here". I felt so sad for the children. No one was prepared and even the food court shops were overwhelmed with tons of hungry children with families waiting to order their food. So let me start by saying that I do understand that sometimes things happen. But today at the Westchester the fire alarm went off with a deafening sound. There were no announcements as to what was wrong or if we should be concerned. But we did decide to leave and were unable to complete our shopping trip. We knew there was a $3 charge for parking but under the circumstances at the exit, we asked if we could go through without paying since we were not able to finish shopping. The voice at the other side of the intercom said absolutely not. So, I absolutely will not be returning here as there are other luxury malls we can shop at as we do have a car! Pretty good mall as far as malls go. They have a bit of everything there, from the ultra high end shops like Louis Vuitton to low end crap like the Zen Store which is the perfect spot for all of your incense needs. They also a bunch of shops you'd actually consider buying something from, like the Gap, JCrew, etc. Very pleasant to walk around here given the big skylights and abundant light. Parking is plentiful too, and you can even pay with a credit card. Just a word of caution; there tends to be a minor hoodlum element present from time to time, so watch your iPhone. read more

Ok...... Cosmetically, this mall is very good looking and clean. That's probably the best part of this mall to me. That and Pretzel Bites. Most of the mall is filled with "high end" stores, meaning you're finding stores with higher prices, but it doesn't always mean better quality. While they attempt to appeal to a certain customer base, they will gladly take all money from you. There is a better variety here than in that Malls of Nanuet mall and in Cross County as far as shopping goes, so there's another plus. The food court in the mall is limiting overall. The mall itself is spacious enough, so during a busy time it's not as disgustingly congested as other places could get. While some stores only put their businesses in "high end" locales (*coughApplecough*), this mall at least has several competing businesses inside the same mall. For instance, if Apple is playing games, you can go on to Microsoft. If Mac Cosmetics is playing price games, you could check out Sephora. And on an on. The parking lot (they also have valet) is poorly constructed and isn't a great bargain. I'd rather shop elsewhere and not have to pay for parking (or get a better hourly deal) than navigate that lot (which is made worse by driver's who shouldn't be allowed to have a licence). They probably got their parking prices scam from the city of White Plains - which in itself runs their own parking scams on their streets and garages. Really all in all, it's a preference or not. High end doesn't always mean great either. The mall isn't a favorite of mine, but well ahead of Ridge Hill, Cross County, Galleria, and Shops at Nanuet as far as overall quality, variety, and overall experience goes and in the general area. read more

***Shopped around with the birthday man in November 2013! :) This Simon mall has a lot of high end stores, such as Burberry, Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Gucci, Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, and Tory Burch.. which are mostly located in the lower level. Sadly, we did a lot of window-shopping only because the sales were not as great and most of the items were not as afforadable as we thought. Another Simon mall, another good mall. I have been to Westchester mall twice. Today we visited on a weekday around 3pm. It was quite empty , easy to navigate within this huge mall without crowds. This is definitely not a bargain or outlet mall. It is very chic designed and has many high end brand stores like Tiffany co , Louis Vuitton and besides Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus as department stores. Whats more, Plenty of retail shopping options. As quick bite and coffee there is Starbucks and Haagen Daas at R3 floor as a refreshing ice cream stop. Food court Savor at the top floor has many healthy options including Little Beet , the melt shop and a very cute coffee bar in the middle. I was very pleasantly surprised that there was a small patio at this floor, I just love patios's and it had huge comfy sofa to relax... just lovely. There are plenty of sitting area at Savor and within the mall at various places, huge sofas or arm chairs makes it super easy to rest and continue your shopping spree. Women Restroom has an adjacent room as nursing/mothers room for nursing and diaper change. This is very thoughtful and as a new mom, I really appreciate this clean and quiet room. My only concern with this mall is the garage elevators. They are super confusing. For those who have a stroller using them is a must, not optional. And the way they are positioned are very cumbersome. We parked to P1 and then took the elevator right there- to press a button we had to figure out what is R2 - R3 and after a while seeing the chart and stores assigned to either of R2 and R3we figured out that is retail 2 and 3... on our way back, we took a different elevator which says P.F. Chang snd this one doesn't have P1 level as a button. We realized that we came with the other elevator which is Nordstrom elevators... and had to walk all the way back... it is frustrating to figure out these labyrinth like system. read more

Main gripe with this mall is that they charge for parking. This is not Manhattan. With everyone shopping online, the one way to encourage the death of brick and mortar stores is to charge for parking... Kind of a random assortment of stores, and certain stores (Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters) seem to have less selection than at their usual location.
