Awesome selection of books. I came to find a juice recipe book. I have been in the market for a new E-reader. I found a really good one here. Most of the stores would have to order it. The Harry Potter section was large. So many books. stationary journal, objects and stickers were 50% off. I like that this location still has a Starbucks and a comfortable seating area. They have 3D puzzles and games and Lego. Free in a large parking lot.

I love puzzles but I never seen a stand-up puzzle. Awesome in a definite buy!!

Ok honestly I'm not into books the way most bookworms (my bestie being one) are. But I love the atmosphere. Something about bookstores and coffee shops that relaxes my nervous system. I love how quiet, clean and organized this store is. Parking isn't a problem as there is plenty. Picking up a snack or meal wouldn't be hard either seeing that they have a coffee shop with pastries inside. The customer service is fantastic. You don't have to look too far for a helping hand. My bestie I stopped by on February 3rd and I didn't catch the name of the team member at the register but she was awesome. If she wasn't processing someone's order she was walking along with a customer to assist them with locating a particular book. She did the same with my bestie as well. What the kid inside of me does appreciate, is the other products sold aside from books. The games and decorative items. I would definitely be back to purchase a couple. Barnes and Noble would always be the spot. It's definitely the spot to relax and read.

i think the manga is pricey but i think it worth it i think there very friendly people and they gave me a free bag like from the member ship cause a man didn't want his but over all my experience been great the 2 times i've been here

    Amazing recs pt. 2

I came with no plans of a specific book to buy, so I browsed for about a half hour, declining any help, but the longer I browsed, the more I started to think I needed some assistance. There was a staff member that I approached and I asked him to recommend books to me. He finished what he was doing and brought me to so many aisles giving me so many great recs for genres I'm interested in. I couldn't buy them all for fear of buying too many and not reading them., so I narrowed it down to 1 book and bought it. The staff is so nice and the ambience is super cozy. The entire store smells like coffee and it's great. Note: I'm not sure if this is a constant thing but they carried Lego sets that Lego no longer sells online, so if you're looking for a niche Lego set, maybe you can find it here!

    White Mocha Frap (taste burnt)

This review is only for the Starbucks inside. I ordered my frap with ease, however it was the taste that threw me off. I ordered a White Mocha frap and it was extremely bad. The entire drink taste was burnt. I should've have went back to ask for a remake but I was in a rush. The people at the counter were nice so I'm sure they wouldn't have minded. This Barnes and Noble is a good location if you're making a quick in and out trip.

This is a nice store and just enjoyable to hang out. Sits right on Rosecrans - safe environment, and great selection of books, of course! As far as books go they are well stocked with easy to find labeled sections. They have a vast variety and a wide range of authors, all genres and beautifully set up with a nice array of displays showcased throughout. The store is well organized, well-lit, clean, and spacious. Also, there are a variety of seating areas. Super friendly and knowledgable staff - always helpful and kind! Everyone is caring and insightful and gives impressive recommendations based on your tastes or goals. Kudos to the staff for professional, knowledgeable and friendly customer service. They also make ordering books easy. You can get anything you need and pretty fast. A nice browsing atmosphere with other book lovers. Parking is not a problem at all - as it is nestled in a shopping mall situated between Trader Joe's and Old Navy. This place is a 10/10!!!

*** best service I've ever gotten at a Barnes & Noble *** ENVIRONMENT This Manhattan Beach location is in a shopping center off of Rosecrans Ave near the 405 freeway. Some of my favorite big names surround this store: REI, Trader Joe's, and Old Navy. There's also a BevMo, Office Depot, True Religion Jeans, Mother's Market & Kitchen, Il Fornaio, and a few others. SERVICE Good service - no matter what the company means to me at the end of the day - is always a plus in my book, hence my rating. We must have had five different staff members ask if we were okay and if we needed help finding anything in our short visit here. MY FAVORITE PART... My girls being able to *easily* find the book they wanted as a reward for having a great week in school before testing began. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... They didn't have a book by a relatively local author Dodinsky called "In the Garden of Thoughts" that I have been looking for a while now. PARKING Ample free parking all around. TIP I may be reconsidering my membership with B&N, however, it is convenient because I get free shipping now matter what. Plus there are rewards that come with it. If you have children, I recommend kid's rewards program. OVERALL My most recent visit to this B&N was on 1/22/21. Before going here, I made a conscious effort to find mom and pop bookstores to visit, but on that particular day they either didn't answer the phone or were closed. I'd come here again if needed, but their prices tend to be higher in comparison to the other independent bookstore killer, Amazon. | Goods: 4 | Service: 5 | Environment: 4 | Price: 3 |

Why is everyone so angry with this little paper? Really?…read more The Easy Reader has been a great local paper that has been an active part of the Beach Community for years. They have helped, informed and brought insight to its readers. They also have helped local charities like Waterfront Education, local schools and fundraisers so rather than trying to hurt the company, their families, its employees (and the hard work they do behind the scenes), why not provide suggestions about how to improve the paper - after all they're really an extension of us are they not? That said, lets all solve the crumpled paper delivery issues and we all will be better off! ;-)

I did contact these yelpers to see what their issue was and after hearing their side understand their frustrations, but don't think it's right that they dole out one star reviews when even with their own admission they've only ever picked up the one issue that included the review of the band they like and considering none of them live anywhere near the community this publication serves. Bearing in mind that this is a local weekly paper I think they do a great job at keeping the community posted on things happening in and around the beach cities. I can always rely on the Easy Reader to let me know what events are coming up, what the hot issues are on each City Council's agenda, whose running for office, what new businesses have come into town and what bands are performing in my area. (Even the ones with irrational hot headed fans) The Easy Reader offices have also served as my polling place : )

While I was purusing, I heard the sales associates helpiing others with book searches and book club information. At the time of my visit there was a children's reading event going on in the children's section. There were young adults picking out their spring break reads. There is also a courtyard and coffee shop somewhat attached. I did not try the coffee, but will the next time I am in Manhattan Beach. This is a charming bookstore, well designed, with sooo many staff picks and recommendations. Make sure to pay them a visit when you are in the area. On our most recent visit, my 4-year-old daughter was happily exploring the store and being completely quiet, but she was skipping through the aisles and her jelly shoes were making a little noise. It was 1pm on a Friday afternoon and there was only one other customer in the entire store. An employee named Alicia came over and told us we needed to leave because of her skipping. It wasn't communicated politely or kindly, it was extremely rude and unwelcoming. As we were walking out, Alicia even said, "I don't play that." The irony is that a significant portion of the store is dedicated to children's books, stuffed animals, and a kids' reading area, yet the overall atmosphere has consistently felt very unwelcoming toward children. The selection is also fairly limited and, in my opinion, overpriced. I've given this store several chances because I wanted to support a local bookstore, but after this experience, we won't be returning. Children can be excited, curious, and skip, especially in a children-focused bookstore. There are kind ways to redirect a child, but making a family feel unwelcome and speaking to us that way was completely unnecessary. Really disappointing customer service and an experience we won't forget.
