This Barnes & Noble is less then a year old and has a great selection of books and gifts! There are also some sale/clearance items which is always nice. I mostly came here though because I recently learned (thanks to a fellow yelper and their review) about their $5 book with a purchase of any cafe item. And if the location you're at doesn't have a cafe, they'll still honor it. The cafe is located upstairs here, and I decided to try a pumpkin spice cake pop. It was good! I was told they change the book every two months, so this time the book was a holiday themed one. Afterwards I learned about the B&N membership program they offer. Shay was very helpful and helped me sign up for the free version. An awesome experience here, I can't wait to come back.

A very nice location. It's bigger inside than the outside would suggest. Happy that we stopped by. Lots of great products as one would expect from Barnes & Noble. It's clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly.

Newly established, multi-level, this B & N is consistent with the brand in their wonderful displays to capture ones attention. They carries all the recent releases as well as old books. Fiction and Nonfiction, young adults, thrillers are located in the lower level. The top level is where you would find books on cookin, business, reference, religion, plus kid toys and more. There are several reading nooks. Lots to see. I could browse for days... There is a café with a nice sitting area. Parking can be a pain, as the store is located within a large retail center. Accessible parking and entrance.

OK, so normally I don't advocate for massive bookstore chains, but it's pretty cool that we just got our first new Barnes & Noble in 20 years in Central Phoenix on June 25. The store is beautiful and modern-looking, without the dark wood and green accents of older B&Ns. It's also two stories, which is really cool, and there's an escalator in the center of the store. The store has pretty much everything you've come to expect in a B&N--huge selection of books, plus toys, games, magazines, DVDs, CDs, records, cards and gifts. It was the first day, so everything was beautifully displayed and organized. Staff was friendly and doing well with the Opening Day crowds. The cafe is upstairs, and the windows face east for a distant mountain view. My major quibble is the tiny DVD section. B&N is the best place in town to shop Criterion Collection movies in person, but this store has barely any. If that's what you're looking for, go to another location. My minor quibble is the cafe prices--$14 for a small mocha and a pretzel chicken bake is bonkers. Overall, if you want to go to a bookstore, the world-class Changing Hands is just down the street. Go support a local, independent business. But in the age of Amazon, I'm not mad about a new brick-and-mortar bookstore in town, and this new Barnes & Noble is a great addition to the city.

We have a B&N! So excited! I have been here during the week, not so packed...(great place to study and work). I have also been here on Sat, busy busy! Great selection, great value book section with a lot of classics. Customer service at checkout was also great.

Enormous selection, friendly staff and a lot of amazing staff picks which I had not heard of before. Lots of parking places adjacent to the shop and it's hot such quaint, cozy decor. I took the time to stop in a few weeks ago to pick out something for my daughter's birthday. The staff is delightful and incredibly helpful. They specialize in mystery, crime, thrillers, fantasy, & fiction, with several autographed first editions (including a hardcover copy of Twilight I noticed behind the glass doors of a small bookcase). There's a featured Diana Gabaldon section with everything Outlander-related you can think of including Scottish cocktail and cookbooks. They have a few very cool book clubs, including the Hardboiled book club, Croak and Dagger book club, and Sci-Fi book club. They also have author readings and signings often. You can attend these events by Zoom if you don't want to come in person. Their website has an extensive calendar and list of all activities and events. You can also join their mailing list and receive emails which I did at the counter. My first trip in I got several classic books and some ACOTAR books for my daughter that she had on her list. I also got a few fun ones from a special Jane Austen table set up near the front entrance. My daughter wanted to return to check out the selection a few weeks later and ended up getting additional classics, including Dostoevsky, and an anime tarot card pack. There's also a small selection of journals, literary themed merchandise and socks, and a small beverage case for drinks. Restroom for customers inside.

When we arrived, I realized I remembered this spot from when I was a kid, I just hadn't been back since I was younger. This spot is absolutely STUFFED with books, comic books, VHS tapes and more. You could spend quite a long time wandering around looking at all of the books they have to offer. It can be slightly overwhelming especially if you are looking for something specific as there wasn't really any clear guidance on where to find certain sections. We still had a lot of fun though wandering around and seeing what we could find. If you are looking for the prices, they are written in pencil on the inside of the books. You can find a mixture of mostly used books along with some new books. They have a cute shop cat that you can sometimes spot wandering around, or asleep at the front. The woman who was working the register the day we visited was friendly! They also had a cart out-front with a number of books that were free to grab. There is plenty of parking out-front.

Once I was got to the store, I had to explore. I think that if one were to regularly visit Books, he/she would find some rare editions and other gems. Also, they had what looked like reproductions of banned book announcements posted around the store: all were of classic novels that we can't imagine not having access to as students. (See photos: Charlotte's Web, Huck Finn, Fahrenheit 451...) They were quite entertaining, in a disturbing way. They had the effect of making me feel so grateful that past efforts of censorship in the US had failed. In 2024, this is still a real threat. Tiny stores like this one are real treasures. Let's keep them in business.

How haven't a written a review of this place!…read more I love an establishment that presents itself as a home for the community. I walk in to Bookman's and often find displays that are Arizona focused in a way that makes you feel and know this place is home town friendly. No big box impersonal feels here! I frequent this store and stop in just because I'm passing by. As an avid reader, I read about 50 books a year, Bookman's is a great place to buy paper books at a cheaper price. My favorite part about local shops like Bookman's is how they don't shy away from displaying banned books all year long! I have to read at least one banned books a month! There's gotta be something in the banned books they don't want us to know and I'm determined to read as many as possible. Interestingly enough, this store is full of "entertainment treasures" too. Music, musical instruments and even gaming equipment can be purchased here. The only thing missing is a social lounge with a coffee bar. We'd probably go even more often if there were a coffee bar inside. Return Factor: 100%
