I was given a $15 gift card for B&N, so I went on a quest to try to find something under that price that wouldn't just sit on a shelf (we already have more books than I can read in a lifetime). Not an easy task if you don't want a book or magazine in a book store. Parking was also not easy - Town & Country is a busy spot during the holidays. It was my first time in this location, so I wandered a bit to get the lay of the place. No surprises - it had the basic B&N layout that I was familiar with. I found the music section fairly quickly. The vinyl selection was bigger than I expected! Are people actually buying this much vinyl nowadays? Again, I have more LPs than I could listen to in a lifetime, so I moved on. Eventually I made it upstairs and found a great selection of toys and discount items, plus some self care items (eye masks, etc.). Nothing I wanted was under $15 though. I found some bath salts for $18, and hung on to them for a bit, figuring $3 for bath salts I would certainly use would be okay. On my way down, I saw a small display I had missed on my first sweep. In it was a 2026 calendar of Marvel black light art. It was $26.99, well above my $15 goal. But, I had to have it, so I put the bath salts down and made the purchase! Check out was easy and friendly. No problems. While it took a gift card to get me in the store, I'm glad it's there and I know what's available for future needs!

A very nice location. It's bigger inside than the outside would suggest. Happy that we stopped by. Lots of great products as one would expect from Barnes & Noble. It's clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly.

Newly established, multi-level, this B & N is consistent with the brand in their wonderful displays to capture ones attention. They carries all the recent releases as well as old books. Fiction and Nonfiction, young adults, thrillers are located in the lower level. The top level is where you would find books on cookin, business, reference, religion, plus kid toys and more. There are several reading nooks. Lots to see. I could browse for days... There is a café with a nice sitting area. Parking can be a pain, as the store is located within a large retail center. Accessible parking and entrance.

OK, so normally I don't advocate for massive bookstore chains, but it's pretty cool that we just got our first new Barnes & Noble in 20 years in Central Phoenix on June 25. The store is beautiful and modern-looking, without the dark wood and green accents of older B&Ns. It's also two stories, which is really cool, and there's an escalator in the center of the store. The store has pretty much everything you've come to expect in a B&N--huge selection of books, plus toys, games, magazines, DVDs, CDs, records, cards and gifts. It was the first day, so everything was beautifully displayed and organized. Staff was friendly and doing well with the Opening Day crowds. The cafe is upstairs, and the windows face east for a distant mountain view. My major quibble is the tiny DVD section. B&N is the best place in town to shop Criterion Collection movies in person, but this store has barely any. If that's what you're looking for, go to another location. My minor quibble is the cafe prices--$14 for a small mocha and a pretzel chicken bake is bonkers. Overall, if you want to go to a bookstore, the world-class Changing Hands is just down the street. Go support a local, independent business. But in the age of Amazon, I'm not mad about a new brick-and-mortar bookstore in town, and this new Barnes & Noble is a great addition to the city.

We have a B&N! So excited! I have been here during the week, not so packed...(great place to study and work). I have also been here on Sat, busy busy! Great selection, great value book section with a lot of classics. Customer service at checkout was also great.

I am usually not in this area a lot, but my daughter & I wanted to go check out this bookstore for…read moresome used books so we took the drive down. When we arrived, I realized I remembered this spot from when I was a kid, I just hadn't been back since I was younger. This spot is absolutely STUFFED with books, comic books, VHS tapes and more. You could spend quite a long time wandering around looking at all of the books they have to offer. It can be slightly overwhelming especially if you are looking for something specific as there wasn't really any clear guidance on where to find certain sections. We still had a lot of fun though wandering around and seeing what we could find. If you are looking for the prices, they are written in pencil on the inside of the books. You can find a mixture of mostly used books along with some new books. They have a cute shop cat that you can sometimes spot wandering around, or asleep at the front. The woman who was working the register the day we visited was friendly! They also had a cart out-front with a number of books that were free to grab. There is plenty of parking out-front.

Once I was got to the store, I had to explore. I think that if one were to regularly visit Books, he/she would find some rare editions and other gems. Also, they had what looked like reproductions of banned book announcements posted around the store: all were of classic novels that we can't imagine not having access to as students. (See photos: Charlotte's Web, Huck Finn, Fahrenheit 451...) They were quite entertaining, in a disturbing way. They had the effect of making me feel so grateful that past efforts of censorship in the US had failed. In 2024, this is still a real threat. Tiny stores like this one are real treasures. Let's keep them in business.

A really great selection of all kinds of books, music, video games, and more! Everything here is community-based, with the exception of selections here and there that are brand-new. So a nice way to support buying secondhand items from Phoenix folks, being more sustainable and supporting a smaller business, and overall just a good spot to come explore! I've found lots of cool vintage magazines, vintage video games, some vinyls, and a number of books here on 19th. I definitely recommend this location!

How haven't a written a review of this place!…read more I love an establishment that presents itself as a home for the community. I walk in to Bookman's and often find displays that are Arizona focused in a way that makes you feel and know this place is home town friendly. No big box impersonal feels here! I frequent this store and stop in just because I'm passing by. As an avid reader, I read about 50 books a year, Bookman's is a great place to buy paper books at a cheaper price. My favorite part about local shops like Bookman's is how they don't shy away from displaying banned books all year long! I have to read at least one banned books a month! There's gotta be something in the banned books they don't want us to know and I'm determined to read as many as possible. Interestingly enough, this store is full of "entertainment treasures" too. Music, musical instruments and even gaming equipment can be purchased here. The only thing missing is a social lounge with a coffee bar. We'd probably go even more often if there were a coffee bar inside. Return Factor: 100%

I will be back especially for the dogs and the great prices.
