Barnes Upholstery did a beautiful job on our two arm chairs! There was a huge selection of fabric samples from which to choose. I was encouraged to take home whatever sample books I wanted, which I did over the course of a few weeks, enabling us to take our time picking just the right fabric. Barnes picked up our chairs and delivered them back to us in less than two weeks. They had refurbished the chairs down to the wood - replacing all of the cushioning. This company is great - quick response to our inquiry, professional, and great customer service. I would definitely recommend Barnes Upholstery having a couch reupholstered or repaired. Our dog destroyed our couch in a way that was almost unrepairable. We had a warranty on the couch, but the warranty company said the couch would be difficult to repair (several tears and seams that had separated). We decided to find an upholsterer and Barnes Upholstery came to our house to look at the damage. He told us that he would be able to fix it, so we brought our couch to their store (they also offered to pick up the couch). It only took one day to fix our couch and it looks awesome! After visiting a few places in Santa Ana, (for one reason or another they couldn't do the job). We stumbled upon this upholstery shop, last minute, to have a piece of furniture reconstructed. It was a brand new chair that didn't quite fit in our RV/Bus, as we would've liked. We called Barnes Upholstery on a Saturday morning and Richard was more than happy to take a look at the chair that we needed resized......Yes resized!!!! Not only does this upholstery shop do fabulous upholstery repair, but reconstruction as well. We had a chair that was 40 inches wide and needed it to be 30 inches wide. The chair looks absolutely AMAZING!! He did it in a very reasonable timeframe and the cost was just what we had expected. Richard is a very kind man and very honest!! We enjoyed working with him. When we picked up our chair, he helped us load it and even offered to take it to our home if it didn't fit in our car. He offered some rope to tie down the trunk as we did not have any. We expressed our extreme gratitude for the amazing work he had done and discussed having our driver compartment seats reupholstered in our in our RV/Bus as well. We said we would need them to be done in a week and a half because we were leaving for a trip. He said, "I would have to start them immediately because of the time frame, but I can make it work". Richard is definitely a professional and a man of his word. We were told that our chair would be done on the following Saturday after we dropped it off and it was ready on Friday. After loading the chair we made arrangements to bring in the other chairs the next day. We left his establishment and after we arrived home we realized we hadn't paid him. He never said a word to us. We had felt like we did a "dine and dash"!! What was funny was we weren't sure if we did or didn't pay because he didn't even call us! When we called him he said, "oh I figured you're just coming in tomorrow", we chuckled. To me that is just pure honesty and good faith!! Mind you we just met this man one week ago and we feel like he's one of our longtime friends. I can't say enough good things about him, his work, customer service, promptness and overall PR. We used Barnes Upholstery to have our living room furniture (couch, 2 chairs, ottoman) recovered. We wanted slip covers, which we could remove and wash. After looking at many places, and shopping for new furniture, we had Barnes Upholstery do the slip covers for our existing furniture. They are a denim white (which is why we wanted removable/washable). Richard was very patient and worked with us to select fabric over our long decision making process. The slip covers are amazing and beautifully made. They do not even look like slip covers, but like brand new upholstered furniture. All of the pieces have zippers and are easily removable. The chairs were an unusual shape & I was concerned how the slipcovers would look. No need for concern. They look amazing. Richard was extremely accommodating, his price was reasonable, and the workmanship is excellent. His upholsterer is amazing. I went back to have him do matching valances, pillows and a cushion. He later did pillows and cushion for my daughter and she loved the work he did, too. I would highly recommend Barnes Upholstery. read more
