I love Barney's! The food is great, you can sit at the bar, a high top or standard table in the 2nd room. They have a fun little area with slot machines. For all they stupid questions, as if we're in NYC, it's a pretty normal small town bar and grill. The servers are nice, bartenders and food service is pretty fast. Are you 18 and in need of a stiff one? Head over to Barney's, they will serve anyone! I'm 32 and I've been getting served there since I was 18! Probably spent thousands there! Do you enjoy standing at the bar and waiting for a drink? Then have a "bartender" look at you, make eye contact and walk away? Then 10 minutes later come back and ask "what do you want?" Then this is your joint! Do you enjoy the taste of salt on everything you eat? I mean, seriously, if you like licking salt blocks you'll find everything on that menu has that flavor. It's insanely mouth watering. You'll appreciate the filthy draft beer that's cheap to wash all that delicious salt down! Oh, don't forget it's a small fortune to order any food there. Do you like watching bartenders get wasted and show their private parts for extra tips? This is your place! Do you like customer service that follows the rule "owner is right, customer is wrong!" Then PLEASE enjoy a seat here. How about watching patrons and the owner go to a "private room" and do god knows what. Heard stories of this room and what goes on there. In all seriousness, if you're passing through avoid this place at all cost. You'll get horrible service and you won't be treated like they want you to be there. Ate lunch here while on a business trip. Sits on a gorgeous small town Main Street. Had the 8 oz burger and tater tots. Both were fantastic! 3 screens of sports on over the bar. Staff and patrons were all super friendly! I'll definitely be back to Barney's next time I'm in town! read more

Went there on a Saturday of a wrestling tournament at the high school. Food was decent, nothing to go crazy over but decent bar food. Service was horrible. Only two servers who also bartended. Our waitress was a younger girl who was pretty much down right rude. Tossed a straw at one of us and later came back cussing about other patrons. We will not be back. When you go into a restaurant on a Sunday afternoon after Harvefest fest in Geneseo with your family members. We had quite a few people, but the place was dead. The owner went up to my sister and sister-in-law raging/shaking mad and told them that coming there with the amount of people we had isn't okay (16 people), he had to decline us. We all got kicked out, he was the rudest person I have ever witnessed in my life. Never going there again. There's a way to go about things in business. I've never seen someone cuss at people who didn't even do anything. Insanity! He really should consider taking the "grill" part out of his businesses name. So the best Reuben in Geneseo....absolutely, no question. This is a no pretenses bar that has the best food for the money in town.

On wednesday's we'll drive from Orion to get their Reuban sandich special.. we'ed drive over more often if they would offer it more often , its the best we've found in the quad city , general vicinity. Fried chicken was good, since it was there specialty, I got it and was very happy. Would I go again, probably not, but here is the rub, its the best bar in town, I just have high standards, it was fine, I just live in Vegas and thats hard to compare, so 2 stars it is. Sorry, its me, not G Town Barneys. I bet it gets silly in there on weekends, good service too. Next time, no, ill pass, but who knows, I may be forced to come back for the fried chicken. I come here all the time during hunting season and when I am coming through town for working on the land. It is a great bar to hang out, play pool or darts and get some quality barfood. My girlfriend and I stopped in at Barney's on a Sunday afternoon during the NFL games thinking we could drink a beer and watch part of the games. We walked into a half full bar with one dude absolutely screaming at the top of his lungs about the Dallas Cowboys. We stood at the bar with money out for several minutes while the bartenders walked past us all the while listening to the guy scream and scream at everybody in a 25 foot radius. Was he drunk? Overzealous fan? Obnoxious? I'd guess all of the above. After listening to this dude for a few minutes and getting zero service we had to walk out. It was awkward, uncomfortable, and annoying. First impression = I couldn't get out of there fast enough. read more

My husband and I had a very bad experience at this bar. we found a table to sit at but could not get anyone's attention to order a drink. Finally a guy at the end of the bar let the bartender know that we needed to be waited on. (Thank you whoever you are). when she asked us if we wanted drinks, she just assumed that the bottles left on the table by previous customers were ours and was going to get us more of the same. After we ordered our drinks, we asked for menus. we looked them over for a few minutes and was ready to order. I couldn't get her attention for awhile and I had to go up and tell her we were ready. It was busy that night so I decided to time our order which was a burger basket for him and cheesy fries for me. well, my husband had a second beer which I had to go up and ask for. we talked to a few people we knew. we talked to each other. I asked how long he was willing to wait for our food. He said he would wait.............so we waited and waited and waited and our food finally went to the window to be picked up by a waitress to bring to us. but it sat in that window for about 10 to 15 minutes and when she finally got to it, she didn't know what table it went to. she asked the bartender and she wasn't sure either, and she was the one that took our order. when my husband went up and told them that it was our order, we got our food TWO HOURS after we ordered it. Needless to say that our food was COLD and we had no napkins, no silverware and my husbands order was suppose to have cole slaw as a side.......didn't get it. we have decided that we WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS BAR AT ALL!!!! Not to mention that they did give us some food while we were waiting but it turned out to belong to the guy who let the lady know that we needed service. he heard her say philly cheese steak to us and he said oh that's mine. Poor service and a two hour wait. It cost them two people who would have liked to visit again. and this sad review which other people will see. too bad so sad. read more

The wait staff was friendly with a good sense of humor and quick wit. I never had to wait to get served and the drinks were mixed well. I have eaten there several times everything on the menu has been excellent. Highly recommended, great place to meet friends and family for an evening out or a casual lunch. read more
