We were at great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. When we got to the restaurant we got in at the exact time of our reservation. The appetizer wings were plentiful and delicious. We got a spicy shrimp pasta dish that was enough for two kids and one adult, it was very good! the food experience was way better than we expected And the convenience can't be beat when you have exhausted kids. We had a party of 11, at our reservation time the table was ready. Zero waiting. I thought the food was really good. I had the ribs, not over sauced and better than most places Ive had ribs. Didn't want the fries and they subbed it for a nice sized side salad. Not small either. My wife had the grilled shrimp on cauliflower rice and that was delicious too. She also had the tomato bisque and was pleased. We had apps of brisket nachos which they served with homemade potato chips and bbq sauce, those were good too. My sister-in-law got a salad for dinner, something like the power salad and said she could eat that every day. The kids menu portions were huge too. All in all very pleased with the food. Wait staff was on it! We had two waitresses and they were fantastic. As for the price, if you are staying in the lodge its more than the outside world. But compared to other items found in Great Wolf Lodge, the restaurant was better for the quality and amount. Example: a premade turkey deli sandwich in a little grab and go food shop is $10. The giant plate of Brisket Nachos was like $14 and 11 of us shared that. Nothing is "cheap" here if you compare it to the outside world. Our experience was amazing. We had a horrible check in at the hotel, but after finding our way to the bar, Alex helped us all into a better mood. She was extremely kind, funny, knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The food was outstanding! The following night we had dinner as a family and all of our meals were exceptional. We enjoyed our meal at Barnwood. We booked reservations here for our "fancy" meal after being at the water park all day. After a couple of days at Great Wolf I really wanted a balanced meal so I had the salmon, loaded mashed potatoes, and a Caesar salad. My sons both had the burger and fries. We also ordered the skillet cookie with ice cream. Sierra was a joy for our table - she made sure we had everything we asked for. It was a thrill to learn that the facility is entirely nut free since my 8 year old has a tree nut allergy. Someone (a chef?) from the kitchen came out to tell us personally, which was a nice touch. We usually don't worry much about it since we don't consume nuts in his presence, but knowing there was no need for concern at all was a pleasant surprise. We ate here while we stayed at Great wolf and from the prices and look of the place and the fact it's the only sit down restaurant on property I definitely expected more. Our service was awful. All the servers just looked unhappy, and were rude. One that wasn't ours brought our appetizers and when my husband tried asking about our drinks (yea we had no drinks before our appetizer came) she just walked away! The brisket nachos were good but they weren't hot or even warm really. Our main meals the roasted chicken and chicken/broccoli Alfredo were ok but lacked salt. Our kids $10 grilled cheese was ok but again over priced. When our food was brought it was definitely right off the line but our waiter never came to ask if we needed anything and my husband had to go get his own ketchup from another table. Again not what I would except for the prices, over $100 for 4, 2 of which were kids and no alcohol. We'll think about it next time just because it's easy but not sure we'd give it another shot. read more

Went to great wolf lodge with the family for a pre Christmas vacation. The food selections at the resort are basically sedexo carnival food so there's not very much to choose from. To be honest the only thing good at great wolf lodge is the drinks (preferably at the indoor water park bar) Sam is the best bartender :-). Now back to nasty barn wood. The reservation process on yelp was a breeze , made reservations and showed up on time. Now here's where it goes downhill. I am not sure about barnwoods seating but it's awful. The tables and chairs were not sturdy when you place plates and silverware on the table it slides everywhere. How can a table of 4 share a small round table with these big slippery plates. The menu is small and terrible selections. For the price of the nasty food you would think you are getting 4 star gourmet food but no whoever the cook back there you need to fire him or her asap because it's disgusting. The "roasted" chicken looked poached, no seasoning what so ever. It was still pink on the inside. The steak that's 37 was gummy and chewy and just a overall bad cut of meat. For 37 you should be able to get two side but no they only give you old fried French fries. This place is terrible and a waste of money. My family and I were better off leaving this lodge and finding some fast food. The server was rude until it was time to pay the bill. You are probably better off ordering a burger at this place if you are forced to eat here as a last resort. Or ordering pizza from papa johns. Just don't order that nasty a$$ fake roasted chicken because it will come out raw and pink. read more

She was so amazing and attentive given the short staffing, you never would have known. We loved her! Food was great, wished for a little more spice but salt and pepper fixed that. Was ok. I had the roast chicken which was good but the potatoes are definitely boxed/instant. Super greasy green beans. My husband had the ribs and they were over cooked/not prepared correctly? Flavor was good but they were TOUGH. Kids had a grilled cheese and fruit ( previously frozen so fruit was a little soggy) and a cheeseburger with fries. Cheeseburger wasn't appetizing at all. We had a reservation and it was still ridiculously slow. We were not greeted by a waitress for about 15-20 minutes. Our food took over an hour to arrive. It was good food, but not worth that wait time or the price. A manager (unprompted) told us they were going to provide us with a "significant " discount due to the wait, however, they only discounted $10.00 off the overall ticket. This place is great and a nice change from the greasy food at Great Wolf. I just wish it was open all day and not just the evening hours! We followed the recommendations to make reservations but honestly it wasn't crazy busy. The service was okay. Not great but okay. The server seemed puzzled that we would want our salads before our entrees so of course they were delivered with the meals. I should have said something but I'm not one to complain to restaurants. The plating of the food left much to be desired. It looked very unappetizing when it came out and I was worried I just paid $40 for a sub par ribeye, but my goodness. The food was amazing. It was very good. All of it. The kids meals were even good. Everyone kept having bites of my food because it was so good. The only very odd thing I'm still trying to figure out is why they put chimichurri sauce on EVERYTHING. Lol every dish they had had chimichurri sauce topping it. And it's not that good. Not horrible but not sure if there's some sort of hidden meaning behind the reason for it. Maybe wolves like chimichurri sauce? We go to Great Wolf Lodge every year and always "need" a place for dinner with 3 small kids. I planned ahead this year, and made a reservation at Barnwood for 5:30. Server was great, Food was very slow in coming, tho the restaurant was not full/busy. Ribs were ok. Would not order again. Kids meals were small and nothing special. Salad with salmon was good. Meal over all was nothing special and $100, with all of us drinking water. We will do Uber Eats next year. Or, just go straight to Ben and Jerry's. read more

The staff and the food at barnwood were phenomenal. The receptionists and our server were so sweet and the crew that brought our food to the table. It was wonderful experience there. I was worried from the other reviews it would be a disappointment, but it was actually fantastic. My sister and I shared the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle and it was so delicious! We had the calamari app and my two older sons had the 16 oz. Bone-in Ribeye and the little ones got hamburgers, chicken fingers and grilled cheese. My daughter has food allergies and Culinary Lead Byron was AMAZING! As a parent is very challenging traveling with a child that has food allergies. Most time we decline to travel because it's such a challenge. I've never experienced an establishment where I never had to worry if my child was going to eat. Upon my arrival TJ the Culinary Lead did an excellent job walking me through his Gluten Free menu and actually and personally preparing my daughters food I was blown away! We had to email to reserve a table for our group of ten! We were seated almost immediately upon our arrival and our server was Madison! She was super helpful, cheerful, & provided amazing service. She made sure our drinks stayed full. Overall the food was delicious and the portion sizes are just right. Desserts were also very good. I did get the wilderness bowl and it was just too spicy for me so I didn't eat very much of it (I'm not big of spicy). Our server discounted our bill (without me asking) because she saw I didn't eat much and clearly didn't enjoy my meal. She also made sure the kids had their food first and stayed happy! I expected this place to be a typical hotel restaurant. You're trapped in the abyss of great wolf lodge and it's more work to get the kids dressed and in the car to go to a restaurant in town, so you would rather eat leather than deal with that struggle. They could literally serve swill and still be successful. However, dinner was amazing! The food was good (we had steaks, burgers and chicken strips), but what really sold the place was the service. The head chef came personally to our table to talk to me about a dairy allergy and suggested things on the menu that could be made specially dairy-free. Then he relayed our conversation to the server so I didn't have to repeat everything to her when we ordered. Then, when the food came out, everything was correct! And hot! And delicious! The only reason I deducted one star is because we were celebrating a birthday and they sat us on the "patio" which faced the lobby...which is super noisy as kids enjoy the evening dance. This place is definitely really accommodating, they will try their best to fix mistakes and help your family have a good time. The wait times can get long but that's only because they seem to be understaffed or very busy. The deserts are really good and so are their drinks.
