And my BBQ is pretty darn good. When it comes to eating out I have a rule that the place has to make something or do it in a way that is either cheaper than I can do or make better than I can make it. Hog Daddy's nails both of those points. My kids are quite picky eaters. They tend to gravitate to the typical 6-year-old habits of chicken strips and other fried foods. My girls were not pleased that I chose Hod Daddy's at first. Then they tried it and asked me to go back the next day and get more. The girls loved the pulled pork sandwich which they said "needed nothing else, it was so good." He even chopped up a 1/4 chicken leg for my twins that wanted chicken instead of port. That was not on the menu but he obliged as he saw I had my hands full with these picky girls. They loved the chicken sandwich! My wife and I got the Pulled Pork and Ribs platter. Between the two of us, we had Brunswick Stew, Potato Salad, and Baked Beans as sides. As you know, you can judge a place on it's stew. Hog Daddy did not disappoint. His Brunswick Stew was FIRST RATE. The pulled pork was top notch. Juicy and did not need sauce. The ribs were perfect. Fell off the bone and were also juicy and full of flavor. My wife and I were stuffed about half way through the platter. It was a TON of food at an amazing price. We stopped in the next day and picked up more food for the drive home. Stop in here if you are in the mood for BBQ you will love it. The kids will love it. This is some great BBQ. PS: I sampled the Chicken and Dumpling Soup. OMG if you have the opportunity to get some, do it.. you do not know what you are missing. I don't care if it is 95 degrees outside, this soup is worth it. You will want some more of it. We tried the brisket, chicken, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and some great sides especially the beans and potato salad (good spice flavor balance). My family all enjoyed making sandwiches from our various well smoked meats. One thing I would consider is a bit more heat, but I'm sure every area and individual has their own preferences. Our server was friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. She was patient, and just really good. The sweet tea almost made me cry it was so good. Since we no longer live in Georgia the sweet tea was like a welcome home in a cup. My husband said the same thing. We both ordered the BBQ Sampler, and I added a fried catfish fillet to my order to satisfy my Southern ancestors. The three meats all had good, different flavors. I don't want my meats to all taste the same. There was a slight mix up with my sides, when my tray came out. I had ordered fried okra, and baked beans, which the server quickly took care of. It was much too thin. It was soaked in an overwhelming amount of lemon. The mashed potatoes and greens tasted like lemon. It was like my entire meal had been marinated in lemon juice all day. Yuck. There was no sweetness at all. It was just bitter like strsight lemon. This "meal" cost me $42. I was back at my hotel before I realized how bad it was.
