We stumbled on this place while taking a break from shopping. The Foie gras was divine and incredibly buttery and spreadable. I just wished they served it with a baguette instead of soft untoasted sliced bread. We were in Paris for 5 days and ordered foie gras at 6 different restaurants. Baroche was our second favorite place! Our waiter helped us narrow our entrees down and we were very happy with his choices. The Veal and pork belly entrees were delicious! The place got busy after we arrived so our server forgot about us at the end. We actually tried to come back the very next day for their foie gras but were sad to see they were closed on Sundays. Our last meal in Paris this trip was spent at Baroche. Location isn't the best with limited semi-street seating so it was hot inside this little restaurant. That being said, the food was fabulous and the French Onion soup amazing. The snail stuffed mushrooms buttery perfection and my croque Monsieur was yummers! The waiter was nice and the bread was super good... and they served a lot of bread!!! Ok... now onto desserts. I've looked for good Creme brûlée forever. Since I make creme brûlée and damn good brûlée I'm a particularly picky consumer. This place has the BEST!!! And the panna cotta is fabulous as well. read more

We were in the neighborhood when we strolled around Champs-Elysées, when Yelp suggested us for dinner due to its highly reviewed. Had its French Onion Soup, it's a bit overdone from the oven, as some of the cheese on top turned black. Service is good though. read more

Near Champs Elysee. We choose this place because we wanted something local for breakfast. Not much meat options for breakfast. The waitress allowed us to choose some items from the lunch menu. The ham and egg sandwich with an egg on top was really good. The fresh OJ was also good. Would've loved to try this place for lunch. read more

Nice, tourist-friendly place for a midafternoon pick-me-up. Friendly, professional service, but don't come here if you're in a hurry. My sweet tooth was aching and I hadn't tried any macarons in France yet, so we went for the macaron set (6 pcs for €6.80) and the Café Gourmand set (€6.80 as well). Not sure if the desserts for the Café Gourmand change from day to day, but we had: - chocolate brownie with walnuts - creamy pistachio mousse with crumbled gingerbread cookie topping - fruit salad with half a grape, mango, and pineapple in fruity syrup. We also had some nice deep, dark espresso to go with dessert. In addition to coffee and tea, Baroche also offers a selection of wine and beer. We tried the Jenlain amber ale. Light, crisp, and highly recommended. The macarons in the set were flavored: chocolate (wonderful, not too sweet), lemon (so tart!), raspberry (with fruity jam filling), pistachio, caramel/toffee, and marshmallow/vanilla. The macaron outer shells were thin, wafer-like, crisp, and delicate. Underneath, a fluffy, airy, cakey layer that was not sticky at all, my main complaint of macarons I've eaten in non-European countries. Then, in the middle, the filling. Oh, the filling. Soft, marshmallowy, but doesn't stick to your teeth. At once weighty and delicate. Divine. Like upscale French Oreos. Is there even a proper way to eat them? Nibbling through it, sandwich, style? Crushing the delicate exterior? Twisting the two cookies apart and licking the filling from the middle? I digress. Baroche is a wonderful place to while away an hour or so as you chat, plan your tourist itinerary (there's free wifi!), and rest your weary feet. read more

Not bad for a restaurant just near the Champs Elysees! We had the €18 burger, the €16 goat cheese salad, the €7 passion chocolate pie and the €7 lemon pie. The burger was good, and served with amazing grilled potatoes. The salad was a bit bland - two big cheese tartines, but just on lots and lots of salad, without any other ingredients than a few nuts. The pies were very good, especially the lemon one. As for the atmosphere, it was pretty nice, we were sitting on comfy armchairs and the restaurant didn't feel too touristy. read more

Really worth it! The owners and the staff really take care of you - just work your charm a bit and tell them a bit bout your taste and presences. Almost all the dishes were cooked to perfection. Nice wine selection, reasonably priced. Worth a visit if you are at Champs Élysées and don't want to throw money away on the touristy restaurants on the Main Street! Right off the busy Avenue des Champs Elysees, lunch at this cafe was a pleasant experience. The wait staff was friendly and charming right off the bat and the ambience is what you would imagine during your vacation in Paris. Where do I begin? This was our favorite meal in Paris. We took a side street off the Champs elysees and were so pleased to find this beautiful cozy space. The service was wonderful and English-speaking. My friend and I split the burger and the fried goat cheese salad (though they ended up giving us each our own salad for the price of one. They even made up separate plates. The burger was cooked perfectly (medium- as we asked), with a sweet delicious sauce and gouda cheese topped with arugula. It was such a melt-in-your-mouth, nod your head burger, I can't say enough. The goat cheese salad was also wonderful. The fried goat cheese was delicious, and my favorite cheese in all of Paris. The salad was lightly dressed and perfect, complementing the goat cheese. Get the burger, get the salad, end of story. read more

Don't get the Rib Eye Steak This is a cute little café that has exceptional service with personality. It's busy so you may want to consider reservations. They did however let our party of 6 in without them. They were extremely helpful, spoke English and were happy to help with menu selections. Ambiance (Rating 3): Nicely decorated but not high-end. Small and cute with a bar. Men, be prepared for the bathroom downstairs. The urinal is viewed by all walking down the stairs. No big deal in France, right? Rib Eye (Rating 1): Do not buy this! Two people in our party ordered the rib-eye steak. The meat itself was of poor quality IMO and its preparation was moderately better. It was seasoned lightly which was fine, but over-cooked. I was really disappointed as I'm a big steak lover. The New potatoes served with the steak were great. They were lightly seasoned with garlic and salt and were cooked well and served in a cute little pot. Goat Cheese Salad (Rating 5): Wow this was great. The goat cheese was warm wrapped in a small pastry. It was placed on top of the salad which had a light wonderful dressing, walnuts and raisins. This I recommend. Vegetable Soup (Rating 4): This was a thick puree soup that was quite tasty. Everyone in our party were of the same opinion. The Bread (Rating %): Usually I wouldn't do a rating just for bread, but in this case an exception must be made. It was extremely crisp on the outside and delicate inside. The taste was phenomenal with no butter. I think we need to re-visit this establishment to try other entrees. read more

This was the first place we ate at on this trip to Paris. Had a late lunch. I ordered the French South West Salad. The salad was ok. I wasn't totally thrilled but the potatoes in the salad were very good. My colleague ordered the Beef chuck and let me taste it. It was very tender and flavorful. First night in Paris, let's eat some yummy Foie Gras! We stumbled across Baroche since it was literally a block away from our lovely hotel. Saw the menu of FG and were sold. We ordered both version of the Foie Gras appetizers, the beet salad, the Italian salad(YUUUMM), the rib eye(a bit on the rare side for my gfs but perfect for me!), the cod(little bland but still fresh and flakey). A really solid restaurant! We were a party of 6 without reservation for the two times that we dined there and we were seated promptly. Service is attentive and prompt. The dinner selection is limited, however, they are really good. We tried almost all the entrees from the two times we dined there and the best entree is the duck breast.
