I like the selection, not pushing items for gross profit, just nice selection all around. I like good helpful people that are doing their job. The chain stores are too busy and full of pushed products. Barons has good quality, and good items. The salad and soup bar are standouts. My wife loves the salad bar. It's well stocked with tons of variety. She's raved about it and even though I'm not a salad person, it's definitely impressive. I was in the grocery business for over 30 years and I know quality. The checker was super nice (African/American with tattoos) and he was a delight. Great conversation and thorough with his bagging of the groceries. The other day was my very first time at Baron's. Team member Julia helped me with my shopping and she gave me a tour of the store. I asked her for the best cake in this location. She recommended me a vegan iced vanilla cake and it was one of the best cakes I've ever had in my LIFE!! She also rang me at the register. Barons offer's array good produce, a variety of olive oils. assortment of soups, chili with corn bread, a fresh salad bar. This is not your typical grocery store. It has different brands that use great ingredients. The baked goods are very good. There's samples throughout the store. The staff are friendly and always ready to answer any questions you may have. The store is in immaculate condition, and there's seating inside and outside for eating. Menifee residents are lucky to have this kind of grocery store available to them. Found this Julian whole unbaked apple pie at Barons. I've been meaning to try it at the original location but wasn't able to get there again. I'm so glad to have finally tried this delicious sweet apple pie because Barons sells them. It's sold frozen and unbaked, but it does come with directions. The market itself is kept cool and clean. Barons is one of our favorite grocery stores. It's also nearly impossible for us to get out of here for under $100. But it's never stopped us. LOL Barons is a slight more upscale version of Sprouts and similar to Whole Foods in its offerings. Each has non-GMO and GF foods. But it's Barons, that has a killer wine area, which includes South Coast and Wilson Creek from Temecula. Nice! Their cheese area is really large, too. No Murray's, but enough choices for when we make our Formage board. Lots of fresh Olive combinations, and a huge fresh Soup & Salad selection. Yes, they're making a come back from our COVID period. Besides all those goodies, they also have a large trail mix section, with chocolate covered nuts and fruit. We love their dark chocolate covered cherries btw. Delicious. The only downer is there's no Meat or Deli section, something that Sprouts has. But they make up for it, with prepackage Columbus and Busseto slices. Now that I'm living here near my two Grands, we start allover again with the quest for the goods. No where is there a Whole Foods nearby. I'm not really a Sprouts fan but big fan of Baron's market. It's like the size of Trader Joe's w/their fanfare but it's got little bit of the items Whole Foods carries. Plus health, beauty & pet food. Big craft beer & wine selection though a small choice select hard liquor including some smooth tequilas. Menifee is Grocery Store Rich What I mean by that is there are a lot of grocery stores so close together! All types, giant discount, Bargain, Big Chain, Locally owned, and upscale. Just when i thought I have seen them all I stumble across Barons. This is perhaps the most upscale grocer in town. Its not a tiny store but the smallest of those around me. As far as the inventory, I was expecting the prices to be much higher, what did meet my expectations was the quality and specialty brands. They also have a large liquor department. produce looked great and well cared for and the inhouse butchers make fixing dinner easy. Came here to grab some soup for my kids and they loved it. Got the largest sizes. One was tortilla chicken soup and the other chicken noodle. They both loved it. Got them two rolls. One also picked out a salad to go with it and tada lunch was served when we got home. They also have any area that has bulk frozen soup. Might consider that next time when we do grilled cheese and soup for dinner. Wish they carried good culture cottage cheese and sour-cream here. The store is always clean and stocked. 50/50 on whether or not I would like Barons to move closer to where I currently live.... I kind of like that they are a smaller, somewhat lesser known chain. My sister would always tell me to visit this place but I didn't know what this place was until now. I love it. I love everything about Barons. I don't have to struggle with going to Whole Foods for one thing and then Sprouts for another, etc. Baron's is a large, neighborhood store that specializes in organic, sustainable, healthy and specialty items all in one spot. There are even some things here that I don't see anywhere like the Julian pies that remind me of my childhood visits with my dad. The prices are very reasonable too. They have a salad bar, olive oil and balsamic vinegar bar, amazing bread selection, soup bar, baked goods, very large freezer selection, wine area..... It goes on and on. I've never been to this Market before or heard of it when living up in Northern Cali. I came to this location twice. The store is very clean and well stocked with healthier choices of foods. What I like is the selections of the to go salad area. I haven't bought anything yet but looks very tempting. Will try on my next visit. If you like carrot cakes. I highly recommend it here! The deli worker Vince is always helpful and making sure I get everything I need. He is always making sure everything is full and fresh for everyone. He even helps me make decisions on what to get in my salad. Sometimes I even see Vince cleaning the countertops to make it nice for the others. Haven't been here in a while. Rainy season has begun so I came in today for the soup! They didn't have the chicken and dumplings, so I got chicken noodle and clam chowder. Hit the spot! Their hot food bar is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is good, but I get turned off when it looks all dry like it's been sitting there for a while. Today I got a little bit of their mashed potatoes and some of the braised beef ribs. Pretty good! They have a decent selection of organic foods as well as "better for you" frozen stuff like ice cream and other desserts. Wish they served the chicken and dumpling soup daily, but they rotate their menu. Would be nice if they added a visual board so you can see when they'll have what. I guess you can always call in. 4 stars because it can get pricey, but I guess you have to pay for quality. read more

We live very close to Barron's and it has served as our main grocery source for almost 5 years now. There's plenty to love about the store -- their mostly friendly staff, their niche items, or even their smaller store size (shopping is just easier when you don't have walk down long isles). Oh, and they keep it interesting, selling goods from local farmers to global markets. Yes, more expensive than Ralphs, but, hey, people like me don't seek an alternative -- i.e drive through a congested intersection to save a couple of dollars. So why 2 stars? Well, yesterday, for the first time ever (in my 5 years of religiously going here), I decided to take an item back to the store for an exchange. A bread we had bought just 2 days prior had molded already. I had also purchased an avocado with the bread and it was looking suspiciously soft. Normally we just toss things that go bad. But I had the day off, I was heading there to get groceries anyway, so I figured I might as well ask to exchange them. TERRIBLE idea! It was just a humiliating experience. With a line behind me, cashier calling manager, the manager inspecting a four-dollar bread loaf like she checking a diamond for purity, asking me for a receipt, acting shocked that I didn't keep the receipt, calling the store supervisor. The attitude. The supervisor (nicer lady) coming over to say, "we can only exchange it" (yes, that's what I had asked) then coming back to explain their 14-day return policy. The whole chain of command getting involved AGAIN when the cashier found out there was also an Avocado I wanted exchanged. I was hoping they'd say, sorry the mold is on you, we don't exchange things. Instead they had to do it the painful way, reach the highest level of management short of Mr. Barron himself and have the board of trustees sign off to authorize the exchange of an avocado for an avocado. Barron's, are you OKAY?! Are you going out of business? Can I help? Please let me have my moldy bread back. Barron's deserves more than 2 stars. I just felt a bit (hugely) insulted and channeled that negative emotion into a yelp review, as people do these days. Let's be honest though, this kinda stuff would never, NEVER, happen at a Trader Joe's. read more

I love Barron's. Just not this one. I just moved and was excited we had a Barron's close. One of my favorites is the clam chowder. Idk if it goes based on the person who makes the soup that day but they water it down! So gross! Another time I bought cheese & it had mold. Wasn't sealed either which the Barron's on Clinton Keith seals theirs. Not sure why it's different. If you're looking for a good Barron's go to the one off Clinton Keith. It's the BEST. USDA meat grading explained/ You seem to be selling the 3rd grade down with a fancy adjective deflecting from the fact that it's just not that great of a grade of meat and certainly the customer looses out by being tricked into thinking it's better than it really is. Your Filet Mignon Select "premium" is the 3rd grade down. And actually select premium isn't even a thing. Calling it select premium or whatever it is, is a tricking the Consumer into believing it's a top tier cut. It is Just not that great of a value at 22.99, For the same price Ralphs sells a choice filet mignon with much better marbling, my old butcher shop, a real butcher who cuts it in front of you sells it for a dollar more for choice not select. Prime, the best grade Choice, the second best grade Select, the third place looser. Select "premium" or other adjective is still the third place grade Which you were selling at a choice price and I don't care what Hamilton meatsSold you on as an explanation for why you could rip people off selling them third-place meat. read more
