Bought it on 6/7 but says sold by 6/8. Cut it open right when I got home from the market and found mold
    Wil S.

I was craving a julian pie and I usually go to barons to get my fresh Julian pie. When I went there I saw that they had California Mountain Bakery as well. I've been wanting to try them since I heard good things so I bought both. Mind you these pies are sitting on a display near checkout for several days until sold out. I took them home and cut into them immediately and found mold in the California mountain pie. I DID NOT find it in the Julian pie but I didn't want to chance it and return them both. You might be wondering why baron is getting a bad review instead of California mountain bakery (they getting one too). But it's because I had called them right when I found out, after my family had ate half of the pie and I wanted them to make sure that they pulled the pies so other people don't get sick. I drive back to them an hour later to return the pies and get a refund. Although they were very apologetic and they gave me a refund right away, I still saw the pies on display!! Which leads me to believe that the priority of spoiled pie or public health isn't a big concern, or that they just wait until other people complain and ask for a refund rather than removing the pies left over. I bought the pie on 6/7 and the label said sold by 6/8. I guess the only silver lining is that you know they don't add preservatives into their pies. Overall, probably the last time I get pie here because I cannot conclude if it was mishandled by the delivery driver or the market, however if Barons is selling the pie, they will have to take some responsibility on how they will keep it fresh for the consumer. It's probably best to buy it frozen or eat it at the actual pie location than to take a chance at a moldy pie from here.

In time I'm in Menifee I have to come to Barons for treats. My hubby loves their Olive Bar and I love the salad bar. Really nice supermarket, very clean and organize friendly. Most things are healthy for you. Service is always nice and speedy. If you like Trader Joe's you will definitely like Barons.

Julian's apple pie. Baked at home. Yum!!

Found this Julian whole unbaked apple pie at Barons. I've been meaning to try it at the original location but wasn't able to get there again. I'm so glad to have finally tried this delicious sweet apple pie because Barons sells them. It's sold frozen and unbaked, but it does come with directions. The market itself is kept cool and clean. The staff members are friendly and helpful. Will be back to try other goodies.

Barons is one of our favorite grocery stores. It's also nearly impossible for us to get out of here for under $100. But it's never stopped us. LOL Barons is a slight more upscale version of Sprouts and similar to Whole Foods in its offerings. Each has non-GMO and GF foods. But it's Barons, that has a killer wine area, which includes South Coast and Wilson Creek from Temecula. Nice! Their cheese area is really large, too. No Murray's, but enough choices for when we make our Formage board. Lots of fresh Olive combinations, and a huge fresh Soup & Salad selection. Yes, they're making a come back from our COVID period. Besides all those goodies, they also have a large trail mix section, with chocolate covered nuts and fruit. We love their dark chocolate covered cherries btw. Delicious. The only downer is there's no Meat or Deli section, something that Sprouts has. But they make up for it, with prepackage Columbus and Busseto slices. Don't forget to grab some freshly brewed Illy Coffee before you start shopping, too.

Pop & Bottle's Matcha Green Tea Almond Latte is perfect.

The handful of times I've been to this location, the store has been fairly stocked and foot traffic is light. Higher prices don't always equate to higher quality, some produce are not peak quality. I am always reaching for organic and have found what I need in most cases here at Baron's. Baked goods are also available albeit limited and rather day or two older than desired. Local products are also available such as honey, produce... they do have locally baked Irish Soda bread for the season! (while supplies last) Service has been great. I'll continue to return as my meal planning allows (-:

Now that I'm living here near my two Grands, we start allover again with the quest for the goods. No where is there a Whole Foods nearby. I'm not really a Sprouts fan but big fan of Baron's market. It's like the size of Trader Joe's w/their fanfare but it's got little bit of the items Whole Foods carries. Plus health, beauty & pet food. Big craft beer & wine selection though a small choice select hard liquor including some smooth tequilas. I'm so happy Riverside & San Diego counties have this small chain of luxury markets at "Aldi" prices but definitely not an Aldi (not that there's anything wrong with them)

    Welcome entry.

Sprouts, sprouts, SPROUTS! If I were asked to select one…read moregrocery store for all of my needs, this is it hands-down. I sort of think of it as a more sophisticated TJ's. The service is very special and unique. The stores are always clean and well stocked. There isn't a lot of useless items or extra added depth of similar product. I mean, how many blueberry jams do you really need? Hot sauce in a bottle? I think a 3 or 4 options is probably sufficient. It's succinct, to the point, and uncluttered and easy to navigate. I really dig the produce cause it's always attractive and I look for the sale items. I prefer the USA items as opposed to imported so I pay attention to the labels. I also have signed up for specials and accumulative points for discounts, which is very easy to do and it keeps you in the loop. Each time you buy your groceries, have your barcode scanned to keep a record. I keep it in my phone with easy access. You will also NOT encounter five or six different prices on each item like some of the big chain stores practice! You know, those HUGE conglomerates! I've had to walk out of those stores cause I'm so confused. Internet price, member price, E price, ad price, radio price, TV price, buy 6 unit price, etc. etc. etc. : Every time I pick up a can of beans I'm looking for Bob Barker in aisle seven! This would even confuse a veteran of " THE PRICE IS RIGHT"! The bakery goods are a nice delight, and if you get there early in the morning you might find some half price items that didn't sell the day before. There's also a sandwich shop and I'm told you can get a sandwich as low as $5.00? I'm not sure if that's true. I've never done it, but that's what some folks have told me. So, you might have to check for yourself. There are those bulk bins for nuts, coffee, candies, dried fruit, and more by the pound $. There's a limited beer section but nicely curated along with a decent selection of wines. This is one area that needs improvement in my opinion. It would be nice if there was more of a beer selection and the ability to buy any single can? I believe this works and they'll always sell out anyway. Or maybe they don't want to dedicate the space? They also have a meat department, (which I stay away from) but those who do partake would enjoy I'm sure. (I refer to these areas as animal cemeteries.) I look for a lot of the vegetarian items such as plant based desserts, and faux dairy items that are actually plant based. Ie: plant butter (which is delicious) and coconut milk for example (my favorite when it comes to something to pour on your granola). There is a frozen sorbet brand they carry, "GELATO BOY" that often times goes on sale that is absolutely fantastic. I really enjoy the "3BERRY" or the "MANGO". Keep an eye out for the sale price as it's almost half price when it does go on sale! The canned beans and corn are a good value and on sale today at 4 cans for 5$! I try to buy the unsalted ones which are so good for burritos. You can find fresh flowers daily to bring to your sweetheart or maybe if you're looking for one? There are an amazing amount of coffee beans in nice plexiglass bins sold by the pound with a commercial grinder available to "chop it up" to save you the trouble at home. Parking is always accessible, and there are other intriguing businesses in this little "mini mall" over there off of Newport. If you haven't been, get on over there! Or, if you are a regular go more often to accumulate your di$count points. Be sure to say "hello" to the friendly, charming, efficient, young lady that mostly works as a cashier with purple hair and her name is Kennedy with a "C" and she's a great ambassador of Sprouts!
