Why sit inside Edgewater Public Market when you could be enjoying a beer at Barquentine? Love grabbing food and hanging out here with friends, whether we're chatting or playing a board game. The beer is solid, though I don't usually go for Belgian-style beers. Still a great one to check out, especially because the bartenders are friendly, and they're open every day of the week!

The whole top row of their selection of beer was my kind of stuff. We got flights and tried pretty much all of them. The bottom row is the hoppier stuff. Sitting by the open doors was nice because it was so hot out, but I was still in the shade. You can bring your own food in since they don't serve any.

Went here on 10/14/23. Went here for a company show. They are in the public market and then there are tons of stuff around there. Friendly bartenders. Fun atmosphere. Tried the mango blonde and pineapple saison. Just mediocre. Not much flavor in the beers. But that's for other people to decide too. Cheers!

Barquentine has an amazing success story. At face value, it's a story of resilience and adaptation. Why you ask? Because they opened the doors of their beautiful taproom two weeks before the pandemic lockdown. A brand new brewery. With a large space. Inside a food hall. And to the naked eye, you would think they've been slinging beer at this location for a decade with no hurdles or hardships. I cannot begin to comprehend what businesses went through during the pandemic, let alone having your grand opening before the world flipped upside down. All that aside, Barquentine is a Belgian-style brewery on the west end of Edgewater Public Market. They boast a comforting, old world meets new world taproom. There's an outdoor patio and tented seating courtesy of the market at large. You can bring any of the food from the market into the taproom. Bring the pups and drink some patio beers! The owner and head brewer, Kyle Knudson, is a delight. A passionate beer slinger who finds content honoring old world methods paired with experimentation into the unknown. He takes chances, listens to his customers and finds a perfect balance of tradition meets creative freedom. My go-to beers are the following. Leapling Kveik Pale Ale, Sea Bear Saison and CherriTime Cherry & Blood Orange Ale. Mixed in are plenty of seasonals and hefty Belgian golden strongs. Barquentine is here to stay!

Cool brewery an also a nicer quieter area to eat your food compared to other parts of the food hall. Also they have an amazing playlist. Service was super friendly. They do have a seltzer option which is nice. Really spacious and has a patio.

After picking up my Yelpie, our group decided on stopped by Barquentine Brewing for another round of refreshments after eating our way through Edgewater Public Market. Located at the far end of the food hall, Barquentine boasts a large tasting room, endless amounts of seating (all at a social distance), a spacious patio and garage style windows allowing for the cool crisp Colorado air to breeze through. We opted to sit a hightop community table which fit our group perfectly. The beertender was insanely helpful in providing recommendations to order, was quick in delivering our beers and very friendly throughout the process! As for the brews - we all opted to order something different! I opted for a "pinot grigio" style beer (which sadly isn't on the menu anymore) -as I'm more of a wine drinker these days, but will occasionally treat myself to a bubbly brew. This one did not disappoint, as it was full bodied yet light, full of flavor and served in the cutest little wine glass. My husband opted for the amber ale, while our friends decided on a sour and an IPA. Everything was well received and was very refreshing! Although this spot doesn't serve food of its' own - being located in a food hall has its perks! Guests can bring in their own food for noshing to accompany their brews, which is a great way to experience it all! When in the Edgewater area, I just might venture back!

Dear Barquentine Brewing Company, I've been following you since word of your opening surfaced on social media. I found myself eagerly awaiting the day I could make my way to soak up your space and sip on your brews. Well this past weekend myself and four others made our way to Edgewater Public Market and through your doors. Your brews are all so tasty and cleverly named. I love that your tap list highlights the flavors in each brew, so we can find just the right brew for us! I sipped on You Rest You Rust (bière de garde) and Billow and Breeze (sour). Both were wonderfully tasty. The Billow and Breeze had a citrus meets pinot grigio feel that I loved. My husband, being the IPA lover that he is, opted for the Mustache Monocle and enjoyed it immensely. Others in our group sipped a variety of other brews and all were well-received. I love that you are locating in Edgewater Public Market, so you have countless food options a stone through from your doors. Making finding the perfect pairing for your delicious brews a non-issue. Your staff is all so wonderfully attentive and helpful in making our experience pleasant. From offering advice regarding the tap list to ensure our glasses were always full - they were on it. I love the space as well. There's a cozy industrial modern feel that just beckons visitors to stay awhile. Your patio is also large and makes the perfect place to kick back on one of Colorado's many sunny days. I know we just met, but I'm excited to say that I can't wait to come back and try more of your brews. Hoppily Yours, Carly W.

    The indoor space at Barquentine

I really like this place. I was first introduced to them through a virtual yelp event, but with its convenient location, my husband and I have been back a few times! They have a great variety of beers. I'm partial to the Belgian flavors, and they have plenty of those. Dark, light, tripels, etc. All are delicious! They also have IPAs, sours, and other types of beer if those aren't up your alley. The space is awesome too. It's modeled after an old ship, and you can see markings alluding to that along the walls of the brewery. Lots of indoor seating, and during warm months they keep the giant garage door open to keep the air flowing. They also have a small patio, but they've expanded it with ropes to allow brewery patrons to enjoy the events put on by Edgewater Market & to enjoy the nice weather. You can also get any food & bring it over, since it's part of the marketplace. The staff is incredibly friendly, and loves to chat!

I came here on a night of brewery hopping. I came close to their closing time so I just got two beers and went on my way. The beer was okay but not great. I wish I could've tasted more but it was late.

Socially distant and covered outdoor seating
    Rachel C.

I'm so happy a friend suggested Barquentine for a socially distant HH. The tents and tables they have set up outside are a safe distance apart, the servers all wear beer-themed masks (which makes me hope/believe they're being provided with masks instead of having to get their own), and the beer is delicious. I tried a few beers (the tasters are perfect for this!) and really liked all of them. The ones I liked less were just a personal preference on beer type and not because the beer itself wasn't amazing. I loved that I could hop into the food court and pick up some food as well. I'd highly recommend the arepas, especially with the beer! It was the perfect summer evening, and the sunset views from the patio were perfect. The patio and tents are dog-friendly, and a few people had their puppers off-leash, so if that bugs you this may not be the place for you. I love doggos, personally, so I loved being able to borrow a neighbor table's pup for a few minutes to get some scritches in.

Excellent beer, including styles you don't find at every brewery, like hazy white IPA, cherry blonde and Saisons. Staff is friendly, space is open and inviting (indoor and outdoor seating), and being in Edgewater Public Market, there are lots of interesting stores and food nearby. Highly recommend.

Love coming to Barquentine Brewing! Not only do they have a great backstory and cool decor theme, but they're rocking a spot in a great marketplace, serving awesome beers! They were nice enough to open their doors for a Yelp event, and I've been back a few times since. Friendly bartenders and a laid back atmosphere will greet you when you arrive. Love the large menu and focus on Amber beers. I'm a big fan of these malt forward offerings in the current lands of IPAs. They offer a big location right inside Edgewater Market. You can bring your beers all through the rest of the area, which I thought was awesome! Come by and you won't be disappointed!

Great atmosphere! Loved the beer and the staff. I loved that you can grab a to-go cup and walk around to check out the cute lil shops. Definitely recommend

And then…read morethere are moments when they are just heavy objects being pulled toward the earth by gravity, wanting nothing more than a chair, a cooked piece of dough, and a cold glass of beer to dull the edges of the evening. The remarkable thing is that the second quest often yields the greater joy. Five of us, all varying degrees of exhausted from a long day of sightseeing, stumbled into Odell Brewing's Sloan's Lake Brewhouse at the corner of 17th and Perry. We were not looking for a miracle. We were looking for a soft place to land. We ordered our dinner, then ventured up to the rooftop patio, which looks out over the lake. I'm told that when the entire surrounding landscape isn't engulfed in flames that you can clearly see the jagged spine of the Rocky Mountains from up there. It is a very fine place to sit while the planet rotates away from the sun. They have a second bar up there that is just as well stocked as the one on the main floor, and the space was filled with the pleasant, low-grade hum of people who were glad to be alive and not currently looking at a screen. The kitchen turns out scratch-made pizzas, so we ordered a Margherita and a Garden Harvest. You must understand something about the five of us: we come from Central and Northern New Jersey. In our part of the world, opinions about pizza are not casual preferences; they are inherited like family heirlooms or chronic joint pain. To say that a group of Jersey natives found these pizzas to be genuinely good is a small miracle of regional diplomacy. They weren't trying to imitate a New York slice. They were just honest, well-baked pies with fresh ingredients, which is an honorable thing for a pizza to be. Then there was the beer. According to their website, this location houses a 10-barrel pilot system where they brew experimental, small-batch R&D beers you can't get anywhere else. I believe them. The fruited sour we sampled was bright and lively, the sort of beer that makes you wonder why so many other breweries get the style completely wrong. The porter was equally memorable, rich, dark, and smooth, with deep roasted notes that made it far too easy to drink. It was a beautiful piece of liquid craftsmanship. The staff was fast and entirely devoid of the plastic, rehearsed cheer you so often find in corporate franchises. They brought things out before we had time to grow cranky, and they seemed genuinely glad we had wandered into their corner of Denver. We had expected a purely transactional exchange of money for calories before going to sleep. Instead, we got a rooftop at dusk, exceptional beer, and the sudden, sweet realization that the day had ended exactly as it should. People are strange, fragile creatures, but occasionally we stumble into the right table at the right time.
