Same Barquentine, a new book club. We met on a Monday evening which worked out great space-wise. I had picked up some dinner out in the marketplace and needed a beverage to go with. I am a dark beer girlie all the way. I chose Morning Edition, their espresso stout. It is 5.8%. I ended up having two over the course of the evening. It went beautifully with my dinner. Barquentine has an amazing success story. At face value, it's a story of resilience and adaptation. Why you ask? The owner and head brewer, Kyle Knudson, is a delight. A passionate beer slinger who finds content honoring old world methods paired with experimentation into the unknown. After picking up my Yelpie, our group decided on stopped by Barquentine Brewing for another round of refreshments after eating our way through Edgewater Public Market. Located at the far end of the food hall, Barquentine boasts a large tasting room, endless amounts of seating (all at a social distance), a spacious patio and garage style windows allowing for the cool crisp Colorado air to breeze through. We opted to sit a hightop community table which fit our group perfectly. The beertender was insanely helpful in providing recommendations to order, was quick in delivering our beers and very friendly throughout the process! As for the brews - we all opted to order something different! I opted for a "pinot grigio" style beer (which sadly isn't on the menu anymore) -as I'm more of a wine drinker these days, but will occasionally treat myself to a bubbly brew. This one did not disappoint, as it was full bodied yet light, full of flavor and served in the cutest little wine glass. My husband opted for the amber ale, while our friends decided on a sour and an IPA. Everything was well received and was very refreshing! Although this spot doesn't serve food of its' own - being located in a food hall has its perks! Guests can bring in their own food for noshing to accompany their brews, which is a great way to experience it all! When in the Edgewater area, I just might venture back! read more

I found myself eagerly awaiting the day I could make my way to soak up your space and sip on your brews. Well this past weekend myself and four others made our way to Edgewater Public Market and through your doors. Your brews are all so tasty and cleverly named. I love that your tap list highlights the flavors in each brew, so we can find just the right brew for us! I sipped on You Rest You Rust (bière de garde) and Billow and Breeze (sour). Both were wonderfully tasty. The Billow and Breeze had a citrus meets pinot grigio feel that I loved. My husband, being the IPA lover that he is, opted for the Mustache Monocle and enjoyed it immensely. Others in our group sipped a variety of other brews and all were well-received. I love that you are locating in Edgewater Public Market, so you have countless food options a stone through from your doors. Making finding the perfect pairing for your delicious brews a non-issue. Your staff is all so wonderfully attentive and helpful in making our experience pleasant. From offering advice regarding the tap list to ensure our glasses were always full - they were on it. I love the space as well. There's a cozy industrial modern feel that just beckons visitors to stay awhile. Your patio is also large and makes the perfect place to kick back on one of Colorado's many sunny days. This is a prime location and it's nice to have the option to run over to get food. I loved hanging out here for sure. In terms of drinks, I went with the seltzer, which was close to flavorless. I'm not sure if this was the intent. It was okay. I can tell the beers weren't great either as my thirsty friends were not thirsty enough to indulge like they normally do (not to mention I got their feedback). I really like this place. I was first introduced to them through a virtual yelp event, but with its convenient location, my husband and I have been back a few times! They have a great variety of beers. I'm partial to the Belgian flavors, and they have plenty of those. Dark, light, tripels, etc. All are delicious! They also have IPAs, sours, and other types of beer if those aren't up your alley. The space is awesome too. It's modeled after an old ship, and you can see markings alluding to that along the walls of the brewery. Lots of indoor seating, and during warm months they keep the giant garage door open to keep the air flowing. They also have a small patio, but they've expanded it with ropes to allow brewery patrons to enjoy the events put on by Edgewater Market & to enjoy the nice weather. We stopped in to this new brewery after enjoying a meal outdoors at Edgewater Public Market. So excited to have a brewery option at the Market. We sampled just a few beers between us, but absolutely love the large indoor space and patio options. Barquentine is beautifully laid out. I'm a huge fan of their industrial decor, accented with wood. We spent 30 minutes marveling at the large light fixtures and the tight welds on the beams and cross joints, lol! Gorgeous. Spacious. I'm so happy a friend suggested Barquentine for a socially distant HH. The tents and tables they have set up outside are a safe distance apart, the servers all wear beer-themed masks (which makes me hope/believe they're being provided with masks instead of having to get their own), and the beer is delicious. I tried a few beers (the tasters are perfect for this!) and really liked all of them. The ones I liked less were just a personal preference on beer type and not because the beer itself wasn't amazing. I loved that I could hop into the food court and pick up some food as well. I'd highly recommend the arepas, especially with the beer! It was the perfect summer evening, and the sunset views from the patio were perfect. The patio and tents are dog-friendly, and a few people had their puppers off-leash, so if that bugs you this may not be the place for you. I love doggos, personally, so I loved being able to borrow a neighbor table's pup for a few minutes to get some scritches in. read more

Would hope to get some management review. Bartender neck tattoos mutton chops actively neglected 10 paying customers from playing a supplied board game and ordering more drinks . Our whole party felt unwanted and uncomfortable. Personal jokes were also administered to our group under sober circumstances. LAWN NAP 9 of 10 (sweet apricot toned down with chamomile) APRICOT AND CHAMOMILE WHEAT Witbier fermented with ripe apricot puree and infused with dried chamomile flowers. 5.8% ABV CABANA POP 8 of 10 (I don't like spurs but love it not tart) TROPICAL FRUIT SOUR Pleasantly tart and quenching. This place is fantastic. I have been meaning to check it out for a while, and it did not disappoint. The staff is knowledgeable and kind and the ambiance is just what we were looking for on a Thursday night. What I love most about Barquentine, pop punk has been playing every time I have stopped in. Maybe I'm biased, maybe I'm a sucker for some good tunes and hoppy beer. I don't know, but what I do know is this place knows how to speak to my 2000's emo kid soul and I'm here for it. I love sitting outside on their patio( they have an array of games available for all ages and puzzles for the little ones. It's one of the only breweries we can go to that our toddler isn't bored out of her mind at. The beer is good and they have a lot of options for everyone's liking. read more

Exceptional across the board. An amazing collection of carefully crafted beers. A staff that is kind and prompt and really knows their products. The space is just gorgeous and impeccably maintained. The owners are often around and happy to share their love of beer and tell stories of their journey. You can bring food over from the food court and enjoy at their large tables. There are signs reminding guests that no outside alcohol is permitted per state law. They also have signs directing guests to the bathrooms located in the common area just outside the brewery. To the beers ... From top to bottom they have something for everyone. The beers are cleverly named inspired by the style and the Barquentine theme. Great light beers with a lager and a table beer; there's always a least one IPA and their new stout is to die for. As an Elite I understand the downside of writing negative reviews but I need to write this. My friend and I checked out the Market today looking to do something new during Covid. We happen to stumble upon this brewery went in and asked Chad who was taking RSVPs if we were allowed to bring in food to the establishment and he said yes. Never mentioned that we couldn't bring in outside liquor. We got a drink at Rogers, and food, because we had no idea how long the wait would be for a table. Chad called to let me know that the table was ready, and my friend and I headed over to the establishment. We sat at our table and no more than two minutes after being seated an employee came over and said that we were not permitted to be inside the establishment with alcohol from Rogers. We were really confused by this because there wasn't any signs and we were never told that we couldn't bring alcohol outside alcohol. He also went on to ask if we actually RSVP'd for the table or if we just took it upon ourselves to sit down. Can't say why he assumed that we hadn't checked in with the seating hostess. We told him that we did in fact join a waitlist and was told to sit there. He stormed off and went to speak with the manager on duty. The manager on duty then came over and told us that we need to get rid of our drinks. He was really aggressive. Now if we're telling you that we weren't told I probably have offered an apology and a couple of option. Like Have the party step outside finish their drinks and then maybe send around over etc. None of this was offered as an option. When I asked if it was possible to get a comp drink I was told "no that is your drink not mine."The seat hostess Chad must have saw what was happening and come over and confirmed for the manager that we indeed he checked in with him and he did not see our alcohol that we brought in from another establishment. We then got our stuff and we're walked outside by Chad. As you imagine I was embarrassed and mortified that was the way I was treated. Especially as other patrons in the establishment started to look at us as if we were the cause of the issue. So we ate our food outside in the cold. This experience sucks and I won't be back. read more
