These people scam ya. A master class of how to take money with no service could be taught here…read more no toilet paper in bathrooms no paper towels no shower curtain everyone gets a code to the bathroom to the ladies bath but there's no lock inside so if ya want to be trafficked come here! They put the light on a timer so to hurry you up however for the paying customer it stinks you get in, start a shower after trying to figure out that glass door that covers all the things you need and the lights go off. good luck not falling.... cheap cheap cheap. Dog poop everywhere we had to clean our site before setting up They charge you extra if you check in on Sunday even if you book on a Sunday and pay in full it's on top, fine I can see how we may have missed that however on top of everything else it felt like a scam. they have a ridiculous "window" to check in and out, hour wise, but don't worry they won't be available anyways. You call they say don't call, text us, you text and no response anyways. Everyone walks through the sites and we could not pick where our site was so youre playing campsite roulette when you check in. The on site owners are snarky and will charge you for ANYTHING they can think of. WiFi isn't included, can't hook into 110 think worst nightmare, money pit and this is the location. The pics on their website don't even match the location. Good luck, if you want to shred your money and have a crappy stay you picked the right spot. I've noticed the reviews after we stayed wished I checked google and other RV places before just their website, you can see how their responses are even snarky and how people tell you to run. I'd have to agree with those reviews run not worth it. Nothing like the smell of Dog poop in the morning to wake up....

We stayed there long term for 8 months until our house was ready and we would stay here again! However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.

A few things knock the stars down: - The amount of rules/ regulations is a downside. There are more than any other river we've visited in Florida. It's nerve wracking to make sure you're following every new rule. - Launching and landing at the dock is stressful. It feels rushed and disorganized. - The bathroom situation is DIRE. They have a few porta potties but they're pretty gross. - I've found some of the staff intimidating/ borderline rude. There are a lot of newbies to kayaking/ paddleboarding so patience is a virtue at busy times! It's a hard paddle up stream and coming back it can be easy to lose control around the corners. There are a few spots to be cautious of other paddlers. With that said, it's really stunning. They keep the area very clean and there are a lot of spots to pull off to the side to enjoy the view. I've never done a guided tour, but I've heard they're really well done!

It is a rustic, outdoorsy camp, no cell phones allowed here! Camp Mah-Kah-Wee is a Girl Scout camp. They offer programs throughout they year for girls and have overnight camps during the summer. I have been to Mah-Kah-Wee many times over the years with my daughters, and I really appreciate that we have a facility like this so close to home. The camp surrounds a lake so there are many water activities like canoeing and kayaking available during the summer. There is also a swimming pool. They offer all of the standard camp activities like archery and crafts and they also have an obstacle course. My kids love this place. During the summer the week-long camps are themed so you can find something to match your child's interests. As for the facilities, the best place to stay is in the cabins. They have air conditioning! In Florida you NEED air conditioning in the summer. I've also chaperoned overnights in the tents, which aren't so bad, and a building they call the Eco Center, which is a bit more like a enclosed porch... no AC there. Overall, it's a great place. I highly recommend it. The prices for overnight camp are very good and the kids have a great time.

Basically, a battle of the local rock and roll bands - a variety of different members from different bands come together on two teams for one day with a purpose to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets are only $5, bring a foldup chair, 10x10 tent, a cooler and it's a great time watching all of our friends compete with one another on the field. Torcaso Cove Park is a great place to hold this event. There is a spacious field with plenty of space on the sidelines for fans. There are several parking areas available making parking easy for large events. There was plenty of space for a half-time show with live music right by the field. There were also a BBQ vendor and several other vendors on site selling food, jewelry, and other items. The park has a public restroom, a playground, splash park, sand pits, plenty of paved walking areas, a picnic area with tables, large pavilion, a beautiful bridge that crosses the heart shaped cove, the park has a bunch of Muscovy ducks waddling around and is dog friendly, what else can you ask for. Nancy and I really enjoyed our time at the park, we will definitely be back to bring our dog and take a nice walk. I just have to mention that it was a bit muddy on the field, even on a hot sunny day. So be sure to wear something you don't care about getting dirty.

Full of ducks and turtles, and I always make sure to bring oatmeal and frozen peas so I can spend a little time with them. You can feed them from the bridge, or the beach. They will surround you LOL. There are 3 play areas: 2 for the big kids, and a pirate themed area for the little kids. There is also a splash pad, and I will openly admit to running through recently, as I chose to go on my run when it was over 95 degrees. The park is very clean, and well cared for, and it's right next to the Winter Springs Police Department, and on this day they had an event bringing awareness to autism; I was offered a popsicle and gladly grabbed it. I sat on a bench to watch a soccer match, while I finished my cold treat, stretched a bit, put on my weighted vest, waved to the ducks, and took off. Perfect park on a perfect day :)

While it is a lively park and can get busy from time to time, especially on the days the run/walk clubs are there, it is usually a nice park to visit solo and enjoy the peace of the surroundings offered. There is more than enough open green space and a good amount of seating throughout the park. The park also maintains various courts/area for various sporting events like baseball, volleyball, soccer, and various other outdoor activities. As far as proximity to other areas, this park is also located a short distance from the shopping and food eateries in Baldwin Park. So, after enjoying a great workout or just strolling through the park, you can pop over to Baldwin Park for some food and beverages. The only challenge, at times, is parking. Parking in this area (in general) is just tricky; however, there is street parking throughout the neighborhood near the park as well as a designated parking lot for the park itself. However, you can also park throughout the Baldwin Park area and just walk to the park from there. Before I close this out, I've gone to numerous events in this park as well, so it is great for hosting various community events (of course, with the proper permits, etc.). All in all, Blue Jacket Park is really just a great park.

Now it's a park with recently added plaques and statues to honor its past.
