This park is nostalgia for me and brings back so many memories. We used to come here for dates and just walk and talk along the lake and watch the planes fly over. This morning I joined a group of friends on a run as we are preparing for a fall 5K in North Carolina together and it was such a perfect run and view. Sunsets here are pretty amazing too and it's family friendly . You'll see singles, couples and families walking even with the doggies ! This park is also safe, as a women it's important to feel safe while walking or running alone so it's one of my top choices in central Florida. read more

Lake Underhill Park is a beautiful neighborhood park with a nice trail for walking and jogging. The trail is about 1.3 miles around Lake Underhill. There is a small parking lot, bathroom amenities and small pavilions. They have a boat ramp and dock. There are benches and outdoor fitness stations paced around the trail and plenty of gorgeous views. It could be a great place for relaxing and bird watching. Overall a lovely place and I enjoy morning walks here from time to time. read more

This park was close to where I was staying and being that I'm not familiar with the area I wanted a nice easy loop to run without getting lost lol. The park was clean the people were friendly walking around and they even had the bathrooms opened early and were very clean to the standards of my wife. Lake Underhill Park is a lovely little oasis that sits right by the 408 highway. It is a nice place to walk around and just take in the lake. When I say that it is by Highway 408, I needed to stress that this park is literally by 408. You can see the toll from the parking lot and for one section of the park, you are basically walking beside the shoulder heading east on 408. All that is separating you and the shoulder of 408 (and the vehicular traffic is basically a wall. If you are looking for a park that will make you feel like you are a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of a city and that you are in some oasis of nature, Lake Underhill Park is probably not for you. With 408 on one side of the park and busy Lake Underhill on the other side, you never lose sight that you are in the middle of a city, but it is still an enjoyable park and one that I enjoy. I am not alone in my admiration of this park. I was here on an early Sunday morning and the park was quite busy. People were walking it and bicycling it. We had boats out on the lake either fishing or just enjoying being on the water. They have a parking lot, but it was kind of full when I got there. All in all, I am a fan of this park and give it five stars. read more

If you're thirsty there's a few water fountains spotted around the trail or if you're running low fill up your own bottle at the fountain which has fill up station perfect for water bottles. There's a nice view of the lake and the skyline of downtown along with some exercise stations along the path. There is also a boat ramp and restrooms at the parking area. It's an odd park for sure! From 408 it looks so serine. The park itself is really pretty. Plus you can take your boat out with the launch which is great. The view of the highway is kind of pretty in its own way. And the view of the city skyline is nice. But the main problem is this park is LOUD being right next to the highway. So it's hard to relax. I do want to walk the ped path next to the highway. That's pretty cool. read more

How long have I been living in Orlando and only recently just visited this park for the first time? More importantly, what took me so dang long to do so? This park is perfect for cross training, walking your dog, heck even water sports. Saw some people jet skiing in the lake while I was there and they seemed to be having a great time. Personally, I came to jog, and the scenic beauty coupled with watching others contributed to make my 4 mile jog go by in a heartbeat. I was shocked to discover I had been there for over an hour, it went by so fast!!! Love the different workout stations they have too, I was going across the balance beam just like I use to when I was a kid. Watch out Blanchard Park, might have found me a new park to jog at. read more

The pedestrian bridge opened up this weekend that goes over the lake, which makes this a very nice spot to get some exercise in. The view over the lake is really pretty, and the noise from the 408 really isn't too bad. One lap around is 1.25 miles, there are bathrooms and water fountains however the water fountains don't seem to be working. They were turned off during construction...will they ever be turned back on? Here's hoping. read more

I have lived in this area for over 30 years. Needless to say I have seen many renovations to the Lake Underhill Park area. In the beginning it was mostly only used for people who wanted to take their boats out for a day of relaxation or for people who wanted to relax and fish. But several years ago they decided to renovate it and make a new and improved walking and exercise area. I think the best thing they did was to create an elevated walkway across the back of the park connected to the 408 highway behind it. This makes a great place for you to take a long leisurely full circle walk, and because there are many people there you feel fairly safe. I have walked there several times and I have seen people running, people biking, people rollerblading, and families walking together. There are several exercise stops along the way as well. There's also a small picnic area where you can stop to have a lunch or other meal. There are plenty of benches for you to stop and rest along the way. I highly recommend that you go out there and check out this beautiful area. read more

I loved finding this park and seeing that it had workout stations. It's a lovely walk (or run) around Lake Underhill. It's a bit weird being so close to the service road and the highway as I am used to more wooded parks and running trails. They have miler markers around the lake, benches for sitting, workout stations, water fountains (with new automated water bottle fillers), bathrooms, boat load in area, dock for fishing, and limited parking lot. It can get pretty busy, but it's not terrible. There aren't any playgrounds, so it's not really a kids park. read more

You can try parking at the church on Lake Underhill Rd - that will put you directly across from the pull up bars. I came for the pull up, monkey, and parallel bars. Solid bars with rubberized floor. Great view of the Lake and decent running path from the looks of it. read more

As others have mentioned, it isn't much of a "park" per se and more of a walking trail with various exercise stops along the way. I personally enjoy the view of the lake against the 408 as it reminds me of Orlando's beauty coupled with its business. I like to come here at night and sit on the boating doc and just look at all of the highway lights. I also recommend this park for taking a scenic dog walk. read more

One of the better parks in the City of Orlando. And a popular park for the residents living east of downtown. Many residents use the trail for walking, bicycle riding, roller blading, and jogging. There are several work out stations, and the trail is also great for walking the dog. As to whether the dog can use the work out stations remains to be seen, but... Anyway...Lake Underhill Park has a public boat ramp, making this perfect for those who like to fish or for jet skiers. And for those who like to fish and do not have a boat, the dock is ideal for casting a line. Many of the fishing enthusiasts, however, have their favorite spot along the lake. Whether you walk by or drive by, there is always someone by the lake with a fishing pole in hand. There are public restrooms, a pavilion with picnic tables, and several benches along the walk when you feel like taking a break from walking. Or perfect for watching the world go by on the East-West Expressway. I myself always enjoyed going down to the lake and feed the ducks. There are also water fountains and water stations for filling up water bottles. Parking is available. Although the parking lot is large, it may at times fill up on evenings/weekends. Whether it is using the trail for exercise, or going out on the water, Lake Underhill is a great recreational park for the residents living nearby. read more

This is a great area to enjoy the Florida sunshine and get some exercise. Whether you are running or walking, or even riding a bike or rollerblading, there is a sidewalk trail that is lit up the whole way around the lake. I believe it is just over 1.5 miles the entire way around. There is a boat ramp and dock off the parking lot, and I usually see people jet skiing or on john boats fishing. Not sure that I would eat anything from the lake, but to each his own! I'm surprised I don't ever see any kayaks, I would think this would be a good spot for kayaking. Maybe the water is too rough? The park is always clean and well maintained. There are a few exercise stations scattered about, and a little pavilion on the Lake Underhill road side. The only downside is the parking. The lot is not very big and the spots are kinda awkward, as they are lined for trucks with boat trailers. If you are able to walk or ride a bike over, I would suggest that to save the hassle. read more

Lake Underhill Park is one of the prettiest and walk, dog, biking friendly parks in the city of Orlando. You can walk around the entire walking path, it's about a mile, and if you walk it takes about 30 minutes. It's a pretty cool walk because part of it is a long bridge that goes over the lake. Beautiful scenery of the lake the birds and all of the vegetation growing around the lake. there are also some exercise areas along the path. This park also has a public access boat ramp and the fishing dock. This is definitely a lovely park in the city of Orlando and is constantly being used by its residents. read more

When I think of this park, I consider it around the entire half of Lake Underhill on the south side of 408. Since the pedestrian bridge along 408 has been completed, this is a great place to jog or run, walk your dog, go for a stroll, or even exercise during your trip around the lake. There are exercise stations set up along the entire route, nothing too fancy though. 1 trip around the lake on the concrete path is about 1.3 miles. This park also feature a boat ramp. Usually the lake is filled with jet skis and wave runners. Once in a while, you'll see some fishing boats or ski boats. The park itself is in very nice condition. The grass is green. The sidewalks are clean with no cracks. It's also well lighted at night. Also has bathrooms but I've never gone inside. If you are looking for sports and stuff, this park does not feature that much. There's no basketball courts or tennis courts. read more

We used to go jet skiing here before we knew better. The park has a small beach that gets quite crowded when there are a lot of boaters using the lake. The lake is right under the 408 so all of the runoff from the road (and from Lake Underhill Rd.) dumps straight into the lake. You can't pass beneath the 408 to access the other half of the lake so you are stuck on the one side. Aside from the dirty water the people who use the lake are often rude and ignorant. They gun it straight from the shore endangering nearby boaters and bathers. The race full speed back and forth across the lake. Not fun. Exhaust and water sprayed in your face. We finally got fed up and found other lakes to enjoy. For boating there are much better lakes! The walking trail is kind of neat with little exercise stations along the way. The park is narrow between the lake and the street but it serves the purpose. There are bathrooms too thankfully. read more

Good trail for walkers and runners looking to get in a few miles (the new connection to Festival Park is a nice addition...and the signs showing the routes and mileage are great). The city has added mileage markers around the trail. But it appears these are based on starting at either Festival Park or the soon to be refurbished Park of the Americas. This is a great park for a run or a walk. It's always just a little busy,- people really do use the workout stations and the loop - but I've never felt like it's too crowded. It's also surprisingly relaxing. The lake is beautiful, and there are lots of birds, turtles, etc. I use the park a couple times a week and during different times of the day/evening and I have always felt safe. All in all, great park for exercising. They have picnic tables and a bathroom, but since it's just a 1.5 mile loop (no playgrounds,etc), I've never used them. I do see people fishing/boating there... I don't know how clean the water is though since the lake is sandwiched between the 408 and the exec airport... so I personally wouldn't fish there but that's just me! read more

Considering that this park is bordered by the east west expressway and a busy Lake Underhill Rd, the city has done a great job making this park a nice destination for working out and leisure. I used to drive by this park for years, but it wasn't until the past couple years I've visited it for jogging, biking and most recently a volunteer canoe trip. The city extended the lakes path to a pedestrian walk way along the East West Expressway (408), to make it a complete circular path. From the 408 side, you can both look over into the lake, or at cars along the expressway. Although, the 408 side of it does not allow you to bike on it, so it's not an ideal park if you want to ride laps around it. The path has individual stations for various workouts, that I've seen plenty of people using. This is a good place for obstacle race training. I also see people walking dogs, skating or just talking a leisurely walk. There is a parking lot and a Men's and Women's bathroom, with water fountains on the Conway Rd side. Overall, the path is well manicured and taken cared of. There are some wooden docks for fishing on the Conway Rd side, and there is a boat ramp. I have seen people jet skiing on the other side of 408. When I went canoeing here, it was for a volunteer lake cleanup. When canoeing to the 408 overpass, we encountered a lot of wake, which made it not safe for us to go under. It was also windy that day, to make it worse. A couple different ways to get here, whether jogging or biking... When jogging, via the Cady Way trail, start from its trail head behind Fashion Square Mall. I'll run down the sidewalk of Maguire Blvd, across 50 and to the wider sidewalk of Crystal Lake Dr (which Maguire eventually turns into). When reaching the corner of Crystal Lake and East West, make a left and a quick right under the overpass, and it will dump you into the lake. It's not the best scenario, considering speeding cars coming off of 408, but there are plenty of pedestrian traffic lights to use. When biking, I also start from the Cady Way trail head, but I follow the Bike Path signs through the Fashion Square Mall parking lot, to the traffic light next to Bank of America, across into the Colonial Landing parking lot, where Smokey Bones is. Then you have to traverse your way to the street where Petsmart is, to the opposite end past h.h. greg, over to Maguire Blvd. At the Maguire light is where the sidewalk to the wider bike path starts. It's tricky to get onto that sidewalk, because cars are turning into the shopping the center, so be careful. Ideally, they should do something like extending an intersecting sidewalk along the airport fence, into the parking lot. I saw plans once of a real bike path to the north of the Executive airport, behind the shopping center. This would be great if it ever gets done. read more

This park is very close to cherry tree park, and offers a bit of a bigger place to run around, while still managing to stay compact (and close to the Orlando Executive Airport) It features a nice walking trail, a low intensity par course, and of course, a nice playground for the kids! The Good: Versatile and Small: Generally I find that parks in the Orlando area either have too much to do, or too little. This place hits just the right harmony and has enough to keep you and the kids occupied during a morning or afternoon jaunt, but it won't keep you there all day. The Bad: Overpopulated lake area: I agree with the previous review about the people who frequent this place, and would add that there are just too many people here on weekends. Fortunately if you go weekday mornings, especially in the fall/winter months the crowds are sparse and you can really enjoy the park! Overall 6.9/10= Sneak here between crowds! read more

Its interesting that I've driven past this lake so many times and thought, wow, look at all those people running/walking/exercising/etc. We finally bit the bullet and drove over after dinner to walk it a couple times. What fun, and really cool to be able to walk around the entire lake. This is one of the things I wished I could do at Ivanhoe because its a gorgeous lake too. The exercise equipment scattered around the lake is in good shape (no pun) too. Ivanhoe's is sadly on its way out. All in all, I think this would be a great lake to jog around while the sun came up. read more

This is my go to place to get some outside running when I train for races. It's a good length and the path is wide so you never feel crowded. There's also various workout stations along the way which is nice. Depending on which way you start you either have a small ramp you can run up (which I love to do to get a small hill training in) or down. Since the path is a circle it's easy to measure your distance. They also have a filtered water fountain (a godsend in this Florida heat) and one for the dogs too! I've seen people walking, running, and biking. It's also a great place to see cute dogs! They have a parking lot which is a plus and I've always felt safe here. read more

I honestly go to this park for one reason, and one reason only: the horizontal bars. Lake Underhill is one of those parks that has the different exercise stations around the trail, and my favorite stop is the horizontal bars. Truthfully, I go to this park for more than that. It's never terribly busy, and it's nestled around a small lake close to the 408. The running trail circles around the park for a decent run with a nice view. OUC has set up a few water fountains around the park as well which is very nice since it can get blistering hot out there. For those who love water sports, there is a boat ramp and you can often see jet skiers out on the lake as well as the few boaters and a couple of fishers. There's enough trees to provide cooling shade if you're coming out here to relax and take a stroll- my favorite being a large tree close to the water that I can climb and sit on and ponder life's meaning or think about whether corn tortillas are really the superior taco holder. Back to horizontal bars- best exercise stop available, if you're looking to work some upper body. Lake Underhill park is one of the few parks I know that has one available not in a playground (you can't hog them at a playground without upsetting some parents). All of this, and easy parking make this park a go to Orlando spot! read more

I don't think I wold really consider this a park. It is more of walking trail. There is a nice paved trail that is a little over a mile long that goes around the lake. There are also little fitness stops around the trail. If you live around the area this is a good place to get some exercise. read more

This is not one of my favorite Orlando Parks. It is bordered all around by busy streets and the 408 Expressway runs right through the middle of the lake. If I lived in the neighborhood I would use it, but I don't think it is a great destination park. There is nothing really wrong with the park, but it is not a favorite of mine. read more
