I cannot make claims about the in restaurant food or service. I've been recently disabled, so I don't get out much. Regardless, for the past five years, we have ordered pizzas & other foods from Barraccos in Crestwood weekly. Myself, I would order pizza from any other place before them, including the more affordable Domino's. But in all fairness, my wife likes their thin crust, pizza with mushroom and cheese only. So happy wife, happy life :-) Even with something as simple as that, it's a 50-50 chance if we get the order right or if it's cooked properly. And that's after five years of consistently agreeing with my wife to order pizza from them. Sometimes the crust is cooked too little, sometimes crust is hard as a stick. My wife simply likes a thin crust pizza, I've ventured onto attempting other food from them when my wife has ordered their below average pizza. How hard is it for an Italian restaurant to cook a pizza? The disappointment was more often than not, so I stopped ordering any food and would make a sandwich on my wife's pizza days, lol. This evening was the straw that broke the camels back when I was home by myself, and simply didn't want to clean the mess of cooking. I spent $50 for a full slab of ribs and a side of a pasta. I always take care of the delivery drivers with a good tip. My ribs were burnt crispy black beyond edible. Every rib bone tip was black and crusty with the outside and the inside not chewable. Leather is soft compared to these. Then the person who cooked them, who obviously is not a cook or chef poured about 2 cups of runny barbecue sauce over them. Normally, I would ask for a refund and offer them to come pick the meal up as proof of how horribly inedible the entire meal was in hopes that it was just a cook on a bad night.. The ribs were garbage and I would not feed to a stray dog, the side of fettuccine ordered tasted like it was made of powder milk with a bunch of flour over the noodles(not edible). Even the side of cream of chicken soup was horrible. Cream of chicken soup is not supposed to be the consistency of water. Even still it tasted horrible. Garbage. I am very upset that they would serve this to anybody. I ate my baked potato, and that was it.. I did call barracos in Crestwood back. I wanted to make a point and told the manager I did not want a refund or a redelivery because I simply wanted the manager to believe me because they normally don't believe you or care if you're food is mixed up or prepared wrong. As polite as I could be, I simply asked her if she would tell the cook that the next time he burnt an order of ribs, would he just start them over again? The manager was in a hurry to tell me to "hush" so she could get to the root of the problem which was very impolite. I was very calm & respectful in simply advising her that the person who prepared the meal failed on all parts, except for pulling the baked potato out of the area they keep them warm in. Nobody's perfect and errors are going to be made. I am fine with realizing that, but Barraccos delivery service cannot deliver food that is just OK to consume half the time as you pay a premium price for.. This will be the final time I will ever eat anything from Barraccos's regardless of how patient my wife is with them messing up her cheese and mushroom pizza. On a scale from 1 - 5, I would rate them a -2. Do not waste your money or time on food from Barraccos's in Crestwood for delivery service. More importantly, do not waste your time because over 50% of the time the food is horrible no matter what you order.. I've ordered barraccos at other places for 30 years. But I will no longer do so, especially from Crestwood. God as my witness, they have even screwed up a grilled cheese sandwich before. I cannot fathom how they remotely stay in business? do not waste your money, but more importantly, do not waste your time by being upset when you're hungry. A homemade peanut butter and jelly sandwich is cuisine compared to anything they can attempt preparing. It must be because they hire people with zero experience or people that could care less. I feel I'm being nice by saying the food is edible 50% of the time. Furthermore, the management either doesn't believe you or just does not simply care. Again, I have been trying to do business with them for five years and other Crestwood restaurants for over 30 years. I will eat my puppies dog food before I would eat anything from them. Over priced, under quality, never made properly, never take responsibility for screwing things up. Ordered a pepperoni pizza last night and it was one of the worst pizza's I've ever had. Barely any cheese. The pepperoni was sliced so thin you couldn't even taste it. I have catered from this business on numerous occasions and was always please with the food. I seen they were offering a buffet from 11am -3pm Monday-Friday, we arrived at 1:30pm. I took my husband there for his birthday 7/10/23 for the buffet we were so excited. We walked in and was greeted by the waitress who asked us what we needed and I said we would like the buffet, she then waved her hand in the direction of the buffet and said help yourselves. We walked over there to a very disappointing buffet. The items were very limited and appeared to be sitting there for some time. There was some pizza, fried chicken, mash potatoes, alfredo, mostaccioli, some veggies and a sad excuse for a salad bar oh I forgot to mention the straight from the freezer mini tacos and chocolate pudding that has seen better days. I see why there was not much business during lunch time, between the waitress not attending to her tables ( all 2 tables) and I had to stop her to get refills and water ect. RACIST ESTABLISHMENT If you are African American you can't dine in at the Crestwood, IL location. My partner & I was turned away from dining in about 9:30 at night July 22nd and was told we needed a reservation, but the white family of 4 came in and was seated right away. They wasn't even asked if they had a reservation or not. When I asked the Host (a young man) if they had reservations he said " I don't know, I think so, well I got a call about a group coming" which obviously was a lie because he NEVER asked them at all. He didnt even ask for their name so how can he assume they were the ones that had a reservation? So my guest and I walked to the front to speak with a manager named Jennifer and she went to the back and basically kept with the same lie. So yesterday me and a friend arrived to have a dinner here. And we were asked did we have a reservation we said no, they manager stated they are "reservation only" mind you we just were there 2 weeks ago and walked in and dined in. The manager stated this was a rule since the expansion since December I said we just were here two weeks ago. She said you had to call before 6 to make a reservation. So we leave. And there's a sign on the door that says call by 6 to be seated after 9pm. It was 7:30pm. So I entered again and said the sign says call by 6 if you wanna be seated by after 9. It was 7:37 the time I took the photo which is disclosed below. She basically said the sign needed to be updated and we still could not be seated. Her attitude was so poor. I truly felt it was some type of discrimination. My feelings were hurt cause we literally eat here all the time we love their pizza and broasted chicken. But after yesterday I will never return or patronized this business anymore. I've heard a many of rumors of racist acts and I never believed them cause we always got top tier service. Consistently delicious. We enjoy the wonderful Italian entrees as well as the pizza. I've tried every chicken dish they have and all were fabuloso. After being delivered the wrong pizza that took an hour for delivery, we called and were out on hold 4 times before being given a reply. Then we were told that they could not return to our home to pick up the pizza or refund our cash, w e would have to go into the restaurant to get a refund. Several months ago we went to the restaurant for a late lunch. I am Italian and have traveled to Italy. I have some understanding of Italian food Ordered an easy to prepare pasta mariners meal. This preparation should be light with a blended red tomato sauce. The soft pasta arrived with a glob of what looked like a red over spiced glob on top. Deep Dish with three toppings, 30 min order time, drove 12 miles, older cashier on personal call while I waited as she finished her call and the audacity to asked for ID on a $26.00 order. Older cashier started the transaction and then handed it off to another worker - guess my service was too mundane for her to finish. Disappointing. Hostess sat us at a table (in a very empty restaurant) As soon as we sat down, a woman who worked there asked us: where did you come from? Why are you sitting there? After many years of enjoyable dining at Baraccos Pizza in Crestwood, we fell victim to their current "zero tolerance" policy for dealing with unruly customers. That appears to include customers who complain about slow service.. I was immediately accused of yelling and that there was only one server in the new dining room area. Went one day and got amazing Jalapeño Poppers made with Creme cheese as an appetizer, came back the next day and got the same delicious jalapeño poppers made with creme cheese because they were so good.... I've been coming to this location for years, my last four encounters have been horrible. When my companion and I walked in we were met with cold stares, all four times it felt as if we were intruding. The food is five stars!! The woman manger is a one star ! She got tried to over change me 10 dollars because I wanted angel hair noddles instead of spaghetti noddles. She refused to give me the meal I wanted without charging me for a build your own pasta. When I informed her I get this all the time made the way I like for the same price since noddles don't cost extra. She informed me she would talk to the owners and it won't be allowed anymore! I was pretty pleased when my work location brought in Barraco's for lunch because I'd already yelp bookmarked it as a dinner option. I chose the Chopped 'Garbage' Salad, which is enormous, way too much for one person. But it was pretty darn tasty, so I'm not complaining. The salad came in a domed plastic container, at least 10" diameter, crammed full of grilled chicken, diced proscutto, tomatoes, cukes, artichoke hearts (yum) red onions, plus mozzarella, gorgonzola (yum) and parm. Very little lettuce. I went with the creamy garlic dressing which was slightly too sweet for me (Ranch would have been better). Others had the Grilled Chicken Salad (which also came fully loaded with various veggies and cheeses), the Double Cheeseburger (big) and the Baked Mostaccioli (which was easily large enough to feed two starving people). i'm 21 years old and i went just to order a pizza at 10:30 pm, not even drink, but they said after 10pm it's a bar so i can't order food even tho there kitchen is open until 1am. i know because i get food there almost every week. they demanded to see my id to get food and i showed them it. now the dispute is that the id i showed them is vertical and not horizontal even the the birthday on there shows over 21. i tried to explain a new id would not change my birthday but they yelled in my face and escorted me by the arm out. read more

We paid almost a $100 for breaded shrimp out the bag and was charged extra for a loaded potato with only bacon and cheese, no butter, no sour cream, no anything, so we asked for our money back they called the police instead. Meh. I wasn't that impressed. I stopped in for pizza one night while my car was being serviced. I've passed this restaurant countless times over the years but never felt compelled to visit. After dining there, I now know that I wasn't missing anything all this time. The restaurant is small but not in a bad way. We walked in (party of 3) and were greeted immediately. A young lady seated us and shortly thereafter our waitress approached. She was friendly and polite. I asked if she recommended the pizza and she said yes. I was vacillating between pizza and the chicken ceasar wrap. I ended up going for the pizza because that's what everyone else decided on. We ordered a thin crust pepperoni and a thin crust with mushrooms, onions, green peppers and sausage. The thin crust was paper thin... if it had been any thinner the crust would have been nonexistent. If I'd known it was so thin I would have opted for the thicker crust option. The pizza was ok. It was edible but it really smelled better than it taste. It wasn't horrible.. it just wasn't anything special or memorable about it. I regretted not going with my first mind and ordering the wrap. My mom didn't care for the pizza but sister enjoyed it and said she'd eat it again. The service was extremely slow. Our waitress dropped off the pizza and never returned. We had to actually get up and find her in order to have our food wrapped up and receive our check. A couple other tables near us had to the same thing. It was a Wednesday night so it's not like the place was packed. FYI - The pasta dishes and dinner entrees are extremely overpriced IMO.
