I needed a break from the highway grind while driving from Denver to Detroit and pulled off the road into what feels like a very tidy upper-class medical community. This particular spot sits in a strip mall but do not let that fool you. Inside, it is honestly one of the best decorated locations I have ever walked into. They went with this raw industrial pump station theme that looks awesome. Even the bathroom tiles are set at crazy angles that make you question your own balance. Enough about the restrooms, though. We walked right in right at peak dinner rush, and they still seated us quickly. Our server, Sandy, got drinks going immediately. I always need a local pour when I am in the area, so I grabbed an Anti Hero IPA from Revolution Brewing on draft. The crisp piney bitterness and solid head on the pour was the exact reset I needed after hours behind the wheel. Next up came the signature Malnati Salad. It landed on the table fast and tasted incredibly fresh. That savory crunch from the premium salami bits paired up beautifully with the tangy gorgonzola. It was the perfect start. For the main event, we ordered the Chicago Classic deep dish on the famous buttercrust. It actually came out quicker than the usual deep-dish wait time. Truth be told, the pie felt a little skimpy on the toppings and cheese this time around. I know this pizza well, and this specific one was just a bit weak on the execution. The flavor was absolutely there because that buttery crust and bright vine ripened tomato sauce never miss but I wanted more weight to it. I noticed online they have been running a hot honey special lately, and I almost wish I had added that for a little extra kick. Even with a slightly thin pizza, the visit was great. Sandy was an absolute rock star. The table right next to us was being seriously unkind to her for no good reason, but she stayed totally professional and knocked our service completely out of the park. We ordered the Malnati Chicago Classic pizza made with Lou's lean sausage, some extra cheese and vine-ripened tomato sauce on Buttercrust in size medium that was perfect for 3 people. It takes a while for the pizza to be made and baked because it is fresh. The pizza was made fresh with fresh tomatoes for the red sauce and had generous toppings. It was served fresh from the oven and the waitress cut the pizza for us and served us at the table. The cheese was stretching when she was serving the pizza. Ok so here it is...their pizza is wonderful but this review is for the sides! The basket of "fries" are actually non greasy pillowy potato wedges. They are delicious! Their wings (we got the Parmesan garlic) rival buffalo wild wings and dare I say are better. Their salad is amazing and so fresh and flavourful. Well done Malnati's! This restaurant does not do group parties very well. The room is much smaller than advertised. It was supposed to be for up 80 people, and we brought 58 and were packed shoulder to shoulder. No room to mingle. Appetizer table was nearly inaccessible because there was no room to move. All the pizzas for our group were prepared long before we arrived and were piled up on a table in the hallway outside the door, getting cold. The pizza was served very near room temperature. The salad was good. The water was good. The servers were excellent. The red wine that came with the beer and wine package was pretty bad and several guests said so at the party. read more

There were 7 individual orders and the waiter promised the 1 order that wasn't pizza would be delivered with the pizzas the rest of the group ordered. We checked with the waiter numerous times since we were finished with eating pizza when the chicken dish finally arrived. Really awkward having all but 1 person having their meal after specifically addressing it at the time of ordering. Requested that the lone entree be taken off the bill which was done. The food was good. We'd had carry out before with major hits and misses so wasn't sure what to expect in the restaurant. My sister was in visiting from Florida. She wanted to go to Lou's as she has really missed it. I ordered ahead online for dining in. That worked out so awesome. When we arrived we were seated right away. Ordered drinks and an appetizer and by the time we were done with that the pizza arrived! Our appetizer was the Lou's Bruschetta, Roma tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil and shaved parmesan on garlic rounds. $9.89 This is one of the best Bruschetta's we have ever had. Hot, soft but toasted, garlicy and delicious! A huge hit and it was all consumed fast! HA! It was the three of us, my wife, sister and myself. My sister is a vegetarian so we ordered a large deep dish butter crust with half garlic, green pepper and tomato's and the other half was garlic and sausage (patty style). The pie was cooked to perfection and tasted better than any previous Lou's we have ever had and we have been to many locations. The atmosphere was nice, had a TV but not loud. We sat in a booth. It was great service from Morgan V. The manager came around at the end of our meal to make sure everything was to our liking. This is always a safe and good place to go with guests! I'm a frequent customer of Lou Malnati's and have consistently enjoyed both the pizza and the service, which is why this review is disappointing to write. Last night, my family of four dined at the Tinley Park location. The food was great and the service during the meal was friendly and professional. When it came time to pay, I handed my credit card to our server. A few minutes later, she returned and told me she had lost my card. This conversation came directly from the server, not a manager. She even asked that I not tip her because of the mistake. I want to be clear: I am not upset with the server. She has over seven years of experience, and human mistakes happen. What I am upset about is the complete lack of escalation and accountability. Losing a customer's credit card is a serious issue. At no point did a manager come to speak with me that night. No one contacted me afterward, despite having my phone number. I had to reach out to the restaurant myself the next day to get any update. When I finally spoke with a manager, I was told they had swept the restaurant and could not find the card. The response felt complacent, as though this outcome was acceptable. It is not. Losing a customer's credit card without urgency, proactive communication, or management involvement is unacceptable. This is not about punishing a server -- it's about a broken escalation process. The fact that no one took ownership or contacted me is frankly appalling. I've been a loyal customer for years, but this experience has left me questioning whether I will continue that loyalty. Food quality alone doesn't outweigh a serious failure in customer care and responsibility. There was no solution to this issue. I don't' want a free meal. I want accountability for why leadership did not address this issue until I took it upon myself to call. Now is too late. My business will be elsewhere and I hope this review makes others consider. read more

i was here for dinner right close to closing time, they were on special hours today 11 am to 5 pm, but they close at exactly 5 pm, but nobody else would have been able to get in. And of course I got a small deep dish pizza that is 4 slices, which beats their pers pizza which is 2 slices that they cut in half. And nothing like being one of the last people in, and seeing staff sweep up, as they are closed on Christmas Day. And they will re open on Friday, and this location is the only full service restaurant and bar location in the south suburbs. read more

This is a satellite of Lou's, not the original location. It's not as good as the original, but it's closer to our current location and you don't have to fight Chicago traffic. Lou's original is saucier and has more flavor, but this is an acceptable substitute. You just have to realize this is not THE Lou's. We got the sausage pizza and it was pretty thick (not quite as deep as the original) and the sausage was appropriately seasoned. We also got the bruschetta appetizer, and the bread was well oiled and toasted, but there was no seasoning and the tomatoes were bland. And their bruschetta has no balsamic, and we think that robs it of flavor. Service was great. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks filled (coke products). The restaurant was too cold and for some reason the ceramic floors were very slippery. So just be aware and step carefully! We came around 4:30-4:45 and beat the crowd. By the time we left around 6:15-6:30, it was very crowded. The pizza does take quite some time to prepare, so don't be in a hurry. With the large sausage (4 servings), a small cheese to go (2 servings), and the drinks and apps, we paid around 64 dollars before tip. It's fine. It's just not the original. And really it's not quite as good as the mail order pizza, which we've gotten several times (yes, Lou's ships). But it's ok. The people are nice. They also have a bar and alcohol/beer, which we didn't try. The food is probably 3 stars. Service brings it up to 4. read more

Nice pizza place in Tinley Park that took over a beer palace in a little strip mall. Malnati's is a famous Chicago name and their pizza is well loved and very good. For our night out ... as a party of 7 ... we arrived and had to wait a 10 minutes or so for a table. We sort of collected around the nice little bar they have and were ready to order drinks ... but that was a fail. While someone was in and out of the bar area all the time we stood there, no one ever asked us what we wanted or offered us anything. The bar area is a big fail (1 star) and technically a big waste for the restaurant as they don't use the six or seven seats there for anything but a waiting room. For dinner we had the Meatball Sandwich (3 stars ... nice meatball mixture and the dish came with their version of French Fries which were sort of like thick cut potato slices fried up), Bruschetta (3 stars ... a nice helping of bread slices that could have been toastier topped with a nice tomato mixture), Deep Dish Pizza ... one large and one medium ... (4 stars and their signature dish with lots of peperoni and Italian sausage), and the Kid's Spaghetti and Kid's Ravioli (both 3 stars nice and perfect for the smaller appetites). We also shared the Family Malnati Salad (4 stars and easily the hit of the night). Ambiance wise the room was a large open area with high ceilings and hard floors, making for a loud setting. You often had to ask your table mates to repeat what they said it was so loud ... this is really not a romantic place to go. Service was spotty ... in fact we didn't see much of our server. Everything was slow because they really don't have enough people to staff the dining room. While not the usual thing to comment on ... the bathrooms deserve special mention. The tiling in the bathrooms is purposely set on a slant. Stand in there long enough and you'll start to lean over to match the tile. You just feel as if everything is slanted to the floor ... including the floor tile. It is probably worth the visit just to go look at the bathroom tile. Overall I think we'll stick to carryout at this location. Nice place, three stars overall. read more

As I was making the move to North Indiana, my brother enlisted me on a mission for Chicago deep-dish pizza. I asked several friends I had made over the years for recommendations and Lou Malnati's came up several times. I had to travel an hour away from my place in North Indiana to eat at a dine-in Lou Malnati's though there are several carryout locations in the region. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon and the place was not busy, but there were quite a few tables that had people dining in. But it looked like they had only one waiter working the whole dining room. It took about 5 minutes before the waiter to introduce himself and my glass of water was low more than once. But is it his fault that he had to serve the whole dining room? My brother and I went with an order of cheesesticks and a small Chicago classic that comes with sausage. We added pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, and extra sauce. The cheesesticks came and well, they looked about every other restaurant's cheesesticks. I was underwhelmed and expected more. There is no pizza like this where I am from in the South. A small meant 4 slices. The taste of the pizza was outstanding! The cheese was gooey, the sauce on top made it unique, and the crust was buttered. But wasn't it expensive for a small! It was over $20 for adding extra toppings and being charged for extra sauce, which may or may not have been added. I loved the pizza. If I go again, I may update my review.
