I only go to Barre Forte occasionally, and usually on Classpass. That being said, I have a great experience every time I come here! They have their own dedicated parking lot behind the building. The studio is squeaky clean and I like that they have cubbies in the barre room so you can keep an eye on your belongings while you work out. The employees at the front desk are always incredibly welcoming. I usually attend with one specific friend and on our second visit, the woman at the front desk remembered us both by name. Now that's impressive. I have high standards for customer service at fitness studios because I work at one myself, and Barre Forte exceeds them. The classes are fun, challenging, and effective. They have plenty of straightforward barre classes on the schedule, but my favorite BY FAR is Barrebound, which is a combination of bouncing (aka rebounding) on mini trampolines, with barre exercises in between. It's a great way to get your heart working and log lots of steps and cardio, with full-body strengthening as well. The hour absolutely flies by and I forget I'm even working out because I'm having so much fun. Definitely try this class if you're stuck in a workout rut or just want to feel like a kid again while doing something great for your body! read more

I reviewed Barre Forte when I joined in the summer of 2014, but they have evolved in ways that merit an update; especially with the recent addition of BAR(RE)BOUND. BAR(RE)BOUND is intervals of their signature barre exercises broken up by bursts of high-intensity choreography on a little bébé trampoline (thus the "rebound"). The intervals are 3-8 minutes but with choreography that stays fresh, led by instructors who are supportive, energizing and fun, it feels like a flash. Since they introduced it I've tried to go at least once a week, and it's been exactly what I needed to get past a plateau and reach my goal of being a single-digit dress size. (In the left pictures I was pushing a size 16, the dress in the right picture is a size 8.) While the barre classes are great for toning, strengthening, flexibility, and have helped me maintain a healthy weight for the first time in my life; the rebound class is where the rubber meets the road on slimming down. The other remarkable feature of the class is its low impact on the joints while being so effective at fat-burning: the knees I thought were smoked and doomed to surgery by heredity and a lifetime of being overweight have improved. A couple of days ago my friend summed up a pilates class she took elsewhere as effective core work but not conducive to weight loss. This is a slump the owners of Barre Forte have avoided with their innovative program changes. I was heartbroken when they canceled a different HIIT class, but "Bar(re)bound" is such a fun class I have literally "Lyfted" in snow storms and to get my fix (and avoid cabin fever). They recently started offering it at Southmoor but it was worth it for me to drive to Highlands Ranch. The only thing I haven't been able to trim down is the good things I have to say about Barre Forte. I really love The Body Barre workouts. I've been going for about a year to this location. All of the teachers lead really challenging and different workouts and exercises, so you never know exactly what you'll be doing, and I'm always challenged. Also, they offer modifications to some of the exercises if you need them. Their pricing is a little expensive, but I really love the classes and it is worth the money you pay. The one thing that prevents me from giving five stars is that the classes are always so crowded. My understanding is that the max for each class is 18 people, but with that number of people in the studio it feels so crowded (at least for me), especially when doing exercises at the barre (no room to move if you need a little extra). Sometimes I find myself bumping into others because it is so crowded. My understanding is that changes are coming to the studios....maybe a little more room for everyone? Otherwise, a great company with friendly staff who are always asking for feedback. read more

Came here on Classpass and I will for sure be coming back! It's a very upbeat, high energy barre class. More challenging and more "burn" vs other studios I've been to in the area. The workout was balanced (lots of burn but also lots of lenghtening and stretching throughout) and instructor checked in on me to make sure I had good alignment. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, and the students were all smiles. It is in a basement and the flooring is soft carpet. You will need socks, socks with grips would be best. Such a great class! Went with my Fabletics crew this morning and Karen kicked our butt! The studio is small but so clean and inviting! Bring socks but if you forget they have some for sale. During class you will shake and be pushed but so encouraging! I felt so empowered to go further and dig deeper for a better work out! I would highly recommend as a beginner or a workout expert! This is the third barre studio I have checked out in Denver, and I would definitely say it is the best by far for multiple reasons. The sixty minutes you spend in class is blissful suffering - they have minimal mercy but why would you want it any other way? You're there for the burn, and Brena and Sasha definitely got me there! I have been to studios where the instructors make rounds telling you what to do, but I appreciate that these ladies do it with you - quivering legs and wincing together! I like being offered modifications when needed but also tried to accept every challenge to push through to the end of each set. "Meh. I've experienced better" sums up my experience exactly, thus the 2 star rating. I have been doing barre workouts at a different studio for several months but wanted to give The Body Barre a try since it is much closer to my home. The studio is in the basement of the AfterOurs urgent care building. I was greeted by a very friendly employee who was checking in another person who was also there for their first visit. I was immediately a little turned off that the other new person was charged the regular first visit rate ($10) instead of the March Madness special price ($9.50) that was running for weekday morning classes. I know that isn't a huge difference in price, but it rubbed me the wrong way. Since the studio is in the basement, there is no ventilation. There were a couple floor fans running in the workout room, but it was really hot and stuffy during the entire class. Up to this point I was willing to overlook these issues if the workout was good since this studio is very conveniently located for me. Unfortunately, this was the worst barre class I have ever attended (I attended The Body Barre class here). That sounds pretty harsh, but compared to the 30+ classes I have taken from 7+ different instructors at another studio, this was not a good class. If you do not have another barre studio to compare, then you probably won't have the same complaints. The class was very basic, but with not a lot of instruction. No guidance was given for weight selection or when to change from the heavy set of weights to the light set (many people in class only had 1 set of weights to start with). The instructor clearly had a fitness background, but not much barre experience. None of the normal ballet or yoga positions were called by their names (we were told to squat instead of plie, etc.). No modifications were offered on any position. The flow of the class also felt very disjointed to me and I didn't feel like I got as good of an overall workout as I typically do with a barre class - some areas were overworked and some areas not worked at all. And last but not least, the instructor acted bored for most of the class. Again, I had high expectations going into this class because I love my other barre studio. I personally did not enjoy my workout here at all and will stick to a different studio for my barre workouts. read more

I had a great workout with Hanna Younger. I don't often do barre classes but I went on my Classpass while I was visiting Denver. It was HARD! I was totally sweating and I worked muscles I don't usually work. I really enjoyed the playlist. The studio was clean, friendly and the front desk lady was very nice and welcoming as well. Take this review with a grain of salt because I have only been to this studio once. My friend swears by the Body Barre and so I thought it would be fun to try out a class with her. The body barre is even willing to comp your first class (normally $19)! I tried out Cardio Hip Hop. Overall, I have to say Zumba takes the win for me but it was nice to try out. I just wasn't a fan of the moves or music but most of all I felt that there was no room! Only 13 people are allowed in a class, but I feel like with the space they should cap it at 10. The studio is downstairs in a basement type surrounding, it's a very small space but their business seems to be booming. I don't think I will go back to a Hip Hop class but I do want to try some of the bar classes since that seems to be the hip thing is working out right now. My suggestion is to definitely give this place a try, its a non-intimidating female only class setting. After one class if you want to dip your feet in a little more the have a couple of membership deals $40 for 10 days of unlimited classes or $100 for one month of unlimited classes. The staff were super nice and seemed to make a point to personally get to know all of their clientele. That's a huge change from the commercial chains like 24hour fitness. read more

So let me just say I've only been to one class so far, and I mean both at this studio and ever for Barre fitness but I was impressed! Both staff and classmates were friendly and welcoming. The studio was easy to find, even though its tucked away into the basement. I couldn't help but notice the incredibly plush carpeting, making when you work out on the floor very comfortable. The work out... whoa. I will be sore tomorrow I can promise that. Even the ladies who frequented the class (I was in the Body Barre class) were shaking a little from the workout. The instructor (I'm bad with names!) was incredibly helpful during the work out. She gave frequent "good jobs!" and knew us all by names. She even recognized me from Facebook when I came in. She also gave great direction during the class, and would often walk around to help correct poses and postures when you didn't quite have it. Overall I had a great time, even though I got my butt kicked. The prices here are cheaper than other studios I've seen. The only bad thing would be the location, and really that's my problem, not the studios. They're quite a ways away from where I live, but being so close to I-25 makes a long trip convenient. This place has excellent customer service and if you've been looking to try Barre I'd say this is the place to go! read more

My first barre experience and the place has me coming back for more! When you think you are "fit" because you still fit into your skinny pants but you refuse to work out (me)....you (I) realize how absolutely out of shape and inflexible you (I) have become at age 31 when experience your first barre class. Holy Moly. They are not joking when they suggest you start with a light (1, 2 or 3 lb) weight during your first class. I think I made it about 8 seconds into the arm routine before I realized what level of intensity this type of training will do to your muscles utilizing "tiny" movements. Fab things that I would like to share: -lots of classes at varying times to fit into any schedule. -first week free for new students (awesome) -mobile friendly website makes selecting classes, learning about class styles/instructors, pricing all very easy to access and manage. I get emails reminding me that I signed up for the specific class --this is helpful! -they host a "bring a boy" night maybe once a month.....it is entertaining and a great workout. -grippy socks are very helpful....no joke. If you can't figure out where to purchase these lifesavers, they do sell them at the check in desk. I picked up a pair at wal-mart (random) in the exercise/yoga isle. I have also seen them at Sprouts..(also random). They help more than you would think--I went regular socks on my 4th class.....I was envisioning a high speed face plant the entire time I was trying my best to be a graceful ballerina (this is also a joke because my muscles were shaking, I was sweating, and I have not mastered the "graceful" nature of the barre class. -great music -great teachers/learning environment/ encouraging -Join me ladies!!! The Body Barre Studio can be summed up in several words for me: amazing, empowering, inviting, and energizing! This has, by far, been one of the best workout studios for me. Prior to trying Body Barre, I would go to 24 Hour frequently and thought I was in relatively good shape; however, the workout classes at Body Barre have kicked my booty into gear! I feel strong and more confident (and isn't that what it's all about?!?!) The variety of classes spice up my workouts as well so I am NEVER bored! Lastly, I cannot say enough about the instructors - Jen, Stephanie, Brena, Cathy, and Laura have all been phenomenal. I've been coming to Body Barre for now 4 months, and wow does it transform your body! This is the only workout that I have stuck to. Each class is different to keep it interesting and the instructors are amazing, every single one of them. OMG I HAVE ABS! I've tried a few other work out classes before and Barre Forte WORKS!! I actually have defined abs and shoulders after just a few months of classes. Doing yoga and working out at home for years never gave me these results. It's hard work but the instructors make it fun and keep things moving so you don't even notice how hard you are working. All of the classes at Barre Forte are amazing for toning and shaping. The instructors are all super friendly and welcoming. This review is really about the Bar(re) Bound classes, which are the absolute best fitness classes out there. Since I have been taking this class for a few months, my cardiovascular endurance has improved tremendously. It is actually harder to get my heart rate up doing the activities I used to do because I am in such better shape. Also, don't let the jumping scare you. I have a bad back and other various injuries and this class allows me to get a serious high intensity workout with aggravating any of my injuries. This is truly the only high impact workout I can do safely. My Apple Watch says I burn over 500 calories for the hour class. Don't get me wrong, each class is a challenge, but if you are looking for a fun way to get into amazing shape, try this class out. I seriously love it. read more

Literally the greatest classes I've ever taken. :) These days, I really think I spend more time at Barre Forte than at my own office. I really love the variety in classes and how the instructors always manage to switch it up so I never get bored or used to any routines. I love all of the classes, but I think my favorite is Laura's Below the Belt class... as a human who's naturally shaped like a pencil, I can't get enough of a class that focuses on legs, booty, and abs. But really, all of the classes are amazing and really challenging. All of the instructors and staff are also so nice, and make a point to remember your name and make you feel super welcome from day one. I never realized how much of a difference that makes until I started coming here. Also, they sell really cute workout gear and socks! I have tried Barre Classes at the 3 main Companies in Denver. I honestly liked all of them, but this seems to be the one that is the most convenient for me as far as location and class times. The price is also a bit more affordable than the other two studios that I attended. I have only had good experiences here. The instructors all seem very experienced and helpful. It can be a bit tight when the class size is large, but it always seems to work once we all get to the barre. read more

It's been three months since I started taking classes at The Body Barre. I think it's safe to say that I am officially hooked. The workouts are amazing... From cardio hip hop to cardio/barre and classic barre classes- I have NEVER left the basement unhappy. As with any studio instructors matter. So if you didn't like a certain instructor try another before discrediting the entire studio. I had always wanted to try a barre class and thanks to Groupon was able to do so. I bought a 3 class package and admittedly took a while to use the 3 classes. The first class was so intense I honestly couldn't walk for 2 days afterwards (my fault not the instructor's since I clearly did not stretch enough). Because of this I was hesitant (and quite frankly embarrassed) to try another class. BUT I did and guess what - I made it through AND enjoyed myself. It was my third class though, with the original instructor - and one of the owners, which has made me a fan and prompted me to purchase another package. I now plan to add this to my repetoire 3 days a week. The classes, if you have the right instructor, are intense (cross-fit was the only other class I found this intense) and transforming. Jen, one of the owners, is Jillian Michaels tough. An hour class is 65 minutes and you are working the entire time! I've tried other barre instructors here and found them to be almost as tough - which thankfully depending on the day is a welcome half-step down. The ladies have created a friendly, challenging environment and I recommend anyone interested in barre classes to check it out! read more

My experiences at The Body Barre have been amazing! I have worked out for close to 20 years and have tried a variety of programs including other barre workouts and these classes are the best! They are a total body workout! The benefits continue regardless of how strong you get because these workouts are designed to push your muscles to exhaustion every time. Just as importantly, the staff and instructors are genuinely nice and personable. They make you feel welcome and are always quick to seek out new faces. The class sizes are small, so it can be more personalized to individual needs. The Body Barre is really creating a great culture in "the basement." There is a spirit of female camaraderie and many friendships have been formed. The atmosphere is classy yet inviting. I would highly recommend it to those just beginning to workout as well as to those who have been working out for decades. Two months ago I promised my doctor that I would begin and stick to a fitness regime. For three years following 2 strokes and brain surgery I was restricted to walking and riding my stationary bike only. It was time to do more. I found out about the Body Barre one day while sorting through my mail. I had no idea that that tiny postcard would change my life. When I arrived for my first class and explained my situation I was met only with encouragement, modifications when I needed them, lots of great instruction and support. Every instructor is energetic and truly cares about the students. Three mirrored walls help to see and correct form at anytime. The lighting is lowered during the cool down helping to block out of my mind any ideas other than "WOW, you did great!" I have lost two inches in two months and am stronger than I have been in 7 years. I love this place, this workout and these people. Every business should have such caring and hands-on ownership and customer oriented staff. Wouldn't that be something?! You need to go and experience this for yourself. read more

Barre Forte is truly the best in the business! The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The workouts are amazing. You are not going to get lost in a barre class; you're not going to feel like you can't keep up. Barre is what you make it to be! I've been at it for quite some time and each time is different and challenging. I never get bored and I always feel 100% better walking out than I did walking in. The classes are for anyone, pregnant, a bit older (I'm 42) men and young ladies - anyone can do it and get a GREAT workout! I must confess I am quite addicted!
