I moved to Bellevue to live with a son and I started Barre classes in Newcastle right away, as it seemed so essential that I keep them up. Even if I can't always do everything the instructors do, it helps so much to try my best. I had a shoulder injury last month that forced me to take a break, so I am doing rehab for a couple of months now. I really miss my Barre classes. All of the instructors are exceptional, and the atmosphere is very friendly. I am anxious to return to Barre. I highly recommend this studio!!

We drove 40 minutes to get there, arrived early, filled out all the forms, and even had a friendly 20-minute conversation with the instructor. Just two minutes before class started, we were told we couldn't participate because we're out-of-state students. This policy wasn't mentioned anywhere on the website when we signed up. The instructor was aware we had driven quite a distance to be there, but we were still asked to leave right before the class began. The studio itself seemed clean and welcoming, and the instructor was kind up until that point--but the lack of transparency and consideration left a bad impression. I hope they make this policy clearer online, so others don't have to go through a similar situation.

They gave me a tour of their facilities. 4 different studios, some heated some not. Their workout room has an armory of workout equipment that is extremely impressive, and the teacher is on a podium with the days equipment already setup so you know exactly what to get. One of their studios have aqua punching bags and was quite cool. Other Pros: -The locker rooms are clean, have showers, plastic bags for wet clothes, and plenty of towels. There's also lockers all over that have free to use locks. -The schedule is packed with classes daily so you really have a bunch of options to choose from -they have multiple types of membership so you can pick what fits your motivation and the prices are actually pretty good considering the location -there's evidence of community everywhere from their giant wall sized community board at the front to just smiling faces and conversation in the back Cons: -the website kept looping me to the front page even though I was already logged in. I couldn't update my personal information and kept getting error messages when I tried to do anything. -This is one of those places where the low pricing is mitigated by having hidden fees and confusing legal text. There's a fine for signing up for a class and not showing up or canceling with 4 hours of start time. The punch cards are also time limited. The signup for a membership has you sign a waiver that says you're responsible for canceling it 30 days in advance and you will still be charged an additional month. I get it, but it leaves a sour taste. Just be diligent with your plans and you can take advantage of a truly awesome gym.

My friend and I decided to give it a shot at Club Pilates as they have a studio in Bellevue. For starters, we signed up for a free trial class ahead of time online. We were told that we need to bring grip socks, which is required, otherwise we'd have to pay for grip socks at the studio. In addition to grip socks, they also sell a lot of different apparel and accessories at the studio. The free trial class is not a full class. It's a preview of different movements that a class may conduct. You do get to use the reformer machine, which was interesting as this was a first for me. The class was half an hour and the instructor walks around and teaches you how to use the machine and goes over the different movements. My friend and I felt like since this wasn't a full class, we didn't get much of an experience of what to expect at a pilates class. Therefore, we mentioned this to the staff when they tried to sell us a membership after our free trial. So then they offered us to take a full class for free, which we scheduled a week later. The full class was not much different of an experience though. The instructor yelled out the different movements to do, but didn't demonstrate what they were, so we had to watch what others in the class were doing. Then when the class ended, we were surprised, as we didn't get much of a workout. This is the first time I participated in a fitness class and didn't sweat or needed to take off my outer layer. It was very low energy. Depending on what you're looking for, pilates may be for you. But it isn't for me, especially given how expensive it is. I found it to be boring and not challenging. I can see why this kind of workout may be good for those with injuries or who may want more of a stretch - and in that case, Club Pilates in Bellevue has a nice studio for just that. The studio is clean and has a parking lot outside of the building. Just note that there only a certain number of reformer machines, so classes do fill up quickly.

I struggled with self-motivation, did not feel confident as I fumbled around a gym, and struggled with chronic pain due to several car accidents and demanding athletic activity throughout childhood. Walking through the doors of this Barre3 studio changed all of this for me. I was hooked before I'd completed my first class! Not only are the workouts challenging and dynamic, I find myself experiencing an exponential boost in confidence and competence regarding mobility, breath, and functional strength. Prior to Barre3, I was unable to successfully use my postural muscles effectively, due to long term injury. After 6 months of Barre3 workouts, my chiropractor recently shared that my posture is improving greatly! What truly sets Barre3 Kirkland apart from other fitness studios is the strong sense of community that exists within the space. Owners, Elizabeth and Hannah, along with their wonderful team, create an atmosphere that is welcoming, inclusive, and safe for people to move, grow, challenge themselves, and be vulnerable throughout the process. Their intentional efforts to authentically engage and build relationships with participants fosters an atmosphere that that feels unlike any other fitness environment. I genuinely feel like I am loved and cared for by staff and other studio members--what a gift. This place is truly special. I saw this location super close to Downtown Kirkland and had to try it out! Parking was available for street, there are free two hour options or you can park at the Library. I decided to take Signature 45 with Bo, had no idea what I was getting myself into, I was just excited to get into the class. Bo was FANTASTIC, amazing instructor and so funny! He pulled out the funniest jokes and I really loved his attitude, he also would go to certain people and help their structure and position more better, I really enjoyed this just to help you learn better. The owner was kind as well. The place itself was a bit small, it was just one class, one studio at a time, bathroom is only one and there is not a shower there. Not too sure if I missed it. Overall, great class and they gave me a small "welcome" gift which was some energy mixer and about their membership.

The instructors are amazing and so bada**, I wish I could have their endurance to talk and workout so hard at the same time! Having tried many other classes, no one has beaten my experience with them because they are so in tune with their clients and knowledgeable in helping you find the adjustments you need if you want them, which other places lack.
